Single-mother Ebony loves a good bargain - but to a degree that can be called obsessive. She has no count of the numbers of wigs she owns and estimates her collection of shoes to about 1000 pairs. All buys she believes were accidental.
Shopping is something most people do - but for some, it can become an obsessive-compulsive habit making it hard to live a normal life. Jasmine Harman meets people suffering from shopping addiction while investigating the personal and very emotional reasons for developing this money-consuming habit.

So is only seen wrong when a average person does it? Don't the rich do it as well? Hmmm, Yeaaah, is not like rich people don't collect cars, shoes, and clothes... Oh wait they keep it in a different mansion organized by the help, and they also get their own show; and everyone applaus them...silly me.
@amyx231
@amyx231 Жыл бұрын
Difference is, for the rich it’s literally pennies compared to a regular salary. When you make $10m a year, $500 for a pair of shoes is the same as $5 for a $100k salary person. $2 for an average salary person. I…admit to getting two pairs/items of clothing when the price is under $10 and it’s a brand or style I know I’ll use. I’ve literally bought 5 sweatshirts because they were that price and I already use that brand. Also, free shipping and discount minimums applied. Yeah….

I like bargains and will often buy things I don’t really need but I go by the $1 cost per wear rule - will I wear it enough times to get the CPW down to $1? That’s helped me decrease my shopping volume. And made it easier for me to toss things that aren’t working - like a pair of work shoes that aren’t very comfortable and I’m considering tossing ($20, wore twice... do I toss them, or try to break them in more? Use them for short trips out only?)

She's beautiful inside and out. She's just hurting. We all are, at times. I'm sorry her character is in question when it was supposed to be about her disposition ( hoarded home, extreme shopping, cc debt) % how that correlates to her emotional well being. Some people laugh, as to not cry. I think she was nervous and afraid. She's the backbone of her family. Just her. Shame on the host for judging her before taking the time to understand her, furthermore, know her. It makes the host look biased and ill equipped to interact with human beings on a level to present to anyone.
