Priya saying "I like spending it if it is your money" is the exact reason why I don't treat shopping with my kids like this. When I was in need of new clothes as a child/teen my mom and I went shopping and together we discussed and worked together to make sure I had the clothes I needed. When I was probably 18 I was going to an exercise class with a friend and she said that she never misses a class because she is paying for it but her parents pay for a gym membership and she never goes because it isn't her money. I was shocked. I felt completely opposite. If my parents paid for something I would make sure not to waste that money out of respect. If I paid for it then it was my choice if I wasted it. I have been married for 11 years and have never once had a disagreement over money. We were both raised by parents who never gave allowances and instead taught us the skills to respectfully discuss with another individual how money should be spent. Learning how to have those conversations with my parents gave me the tools to do it as a married adult. I think our culture's emphasis on using allowances to teach financial intelligence is totally backwards. Open, honest, respectful, and frequent communication works better.

I will tell you when my girls dad passed away they got Social Security and I did the same concept with them having their own card for what they receive from Social Security as a survivor child death benefit, and a lot of people judged me for it, but I will tell you, I taught my kids how to budget how to manage their money and their credit scores are amazing now and they’re both very fiscally responsible, and are excelling as adults, because I taught them how to manage their money like that. I strongly recommend parents take advantage of this product because it does make a difference with them learning how money works and budgeting. And just to add, I originally did it a to teach them about money and also be because I didn’t want anybody accusing me of spending their survivor benefits on myself so my kids budgeted and spent that money for their needs and I never touched one red cent.

We have Greenlight and it's been such a great experience for me and my two kids. They have learned how to keep up with the cards (a card or two may have been lost in the beginning 😂). They have learned how to not leave them at home (oh, you forgot your card? Well you will have to buy that next time). They have learned how to make payments with card readers, PIN numbers, and Apple Pay. We have never used it at an ATM or usd the investing feature. And now my oldest is 16 and will be transitioning to an actual bank soon, so that's a little less scary (hello, overdraft fees!) now that she has had several years budgeting with the Greenlight card. It's great to see you Vlogging again and to watch your kids participating!

I really dont understand the need to define your daughters body online for strangers. To each their own but I wouldnt focus on the editing, I would focus not trying to be at your kids level ("shoot your shots" towards your son hitting on girls). There's a fine line between being your kids friend as they get older, and still displaying a level of privacy, dignity and modesty. As a muslim, this is a huge part of our religion but I think it should apply to everyone in this day and age with media safety.

One way I've gotten around the small waist problem is buying men's jeans. No one notices, by the way, but it automatically makes things easier because they have the sizes written on them, and men are usually taller, so sometimes that helps also for people who tend to be gymnasts/ballet/etc, not to stereotype. I had no idea why I struggled with clothes until I learned I had a smaller waist and longer legs, but men's jeans help with this because of how they are fitted :) They also tend to be cheaper and higher quality, yet look very similar. If you want them to look more girly, you could put some flowers on them or something.

Through social media we see snap shots of lives in 10 minutes or less. But life is so much more and complicated. My heart goes out to this couple for what I am sure is heartbreaking for them both. They've been navigating this change for awhile and I commend them for doing what is best for themselves and their children in the long run. I hope people will be kind.

How much of your salary do you give to your kids? Jordan's kids get a nice house, clothing, food, vacations - all the things kids with working parents get.

Curious if this debit card lets you use it online. My 14 yr old entered his (different brand) somewhere and we got a call about fraudulent charges. Life lesson, but wish we could have learned from others, rather than first hand.

Yeah again... Just can't with the editing. I'll try the next one but if it's still this new style, sadly I am out. It's just to distracting, chaotic, clip cut to much, all the movement and really weird text stuff. I just don't get it.

The new style editing is quite distracting. I hate complaining about videos because I know there is so much work that goes into it, but this way is just too much please please make it simpler we don't need all the pops and captions x
