I just grabbed a retic from Reach Out Reptiles after seeing your video and took a couple months to make sure I was ready, and got an amazing purple male from them. He's doing great! :-) Named him Apollo being bright like the Sun lol Thanks for posting your video! I wanted a Kalatoa SD and was ready to buy from Garrett, until he asked where I live. Florida. Stupid *ucking Florida. 😡🤬 My Super Dwarf dreams went right out the window. I was so excited about getting one I completely forgot about how stupid my state is. Your new girl is absolutely gorgeous!!🐍❤️🐍

@@DiaryBinz The major problem was a hurricane. Although their are some idiots that have released them, they’ve never taken hold until that hurricane. I’m just tired of the ignorance regarding reptiles. The people who make the decisions either know nothing about them or bow to money and politics.

Now does garret feed his super dwarfs weekly ? Or does he also use feeding to help keep them small ? I know island morphs stay smaller but is it really as dramatic as garrets examples of super dwarf if fed more aggressively ?

This question is by no means implying that he doesn’t breed the highest quality super dwarfs I just wonder if feeding them more heavily would increase their size . I have western hognose clutch mates where I have females that don’t eat well that are a quarter the size of their sisters that eat very well

Yeah they’re on a regular feeding schedule. We actually had this conversation while we were there. Restricting food would probably growth stunt them slightly, but it wouldn’t cause them to be THAT much smaller. It’s also very bad for their organs to be growth stunted that much. The size of the snakes purely has to do with the localities and what percentages of each locality the snake is. And the adult captive bred super dwarf that was shown was actually slightly on the heavy side so his food definitely wasn’t being restricted haha

We chatted about this with him too; he feeds hatchlings and yearlings weekly, and then goes longer once they start hitting maturity, same as mainland :)

Question. Is the snake at 5:25 "Kevin Snakin?" a full-grown Super Dwarf Reticulated Python? Are different types/sexes of Super Dwarves bigger or smaller? I might change my mind from a Ball Python to a Super Dwarf. I have many questions before that decision. I would _love to_ visit Reach Out and see, hold, admire a Super Dwarf and ask questions! I might be in Pittsburgh in late September, wonder if I could visit? I might have a new friend for the drive back to Texas!
