Hey party people! thanks so much for hanging out with me while I share with you this new shopping adventure! I went to a couple of thrift stores near me, well I should say they were antique stores! I love them so much but sometimes the prices are a little outrageous but I find that shopping the antique stores are the absolute best places to find vintage gems, and unique items! those are my favorite! My style is grandma so I'm leaning into it. haha I also stopped by homegoods in south tampa and shared what they had! and since every single last one of you have been begging me for the trader joes haul I filmed but never shared I added it here! thanks so much for hanging out with me while I shop around and find some cool finds to fill up the new rooms in our house!!

Maybe make a list of furniture you need and measure the space you would want them to fit into for proportion. Perhaps that will narrow the selection so it’s not so overwhelming. Those antique stores were loaded with so many gorgeous pieces.

I think it will be easier for you if you think about a theme / vibe you want in each room and stick with that, then go from there because even if you have a lot of good ideas if it doesn't go with the theme you can leave it out then you can see more what you want to focus on.. My parents got a piece of furniture like this formal couch when my Grandparents passed. They had it refluffed and reupholstered. It’s stunning! I get first dibs when I move because my mom took it for me in particular. I spent a lot of time hanging out with my Grammy, and we used to sit on this couch in her bedroom and she would brush my hair with her fancy silver comb and brush. Great memories. I did get the mirror, comb and brush since my initials are almost identical to hers.

My girl, coming from an Army wife who has had to redo an entire home every few years down to curtains let me give you some advice. You will have a nervous breakdown if you keep up this way!🤣 Take a photo and wall measurements of each room. Write down the priorities for each room and then assign yourself one room at a time. Choose the room that's the most pressing or most fun and finish that room before moving onto the next. It will save your sanity and the process will actually go faster that way. Also- love love love that you respected your daughter's request to not be on camera. Good mom!

Okay …. I’ve come up with an idea that i think will work for you!!! You need to choose one thing you love for a room. Just one thing …. Once one thing is bought you will start matching and working with the loved piece. That is why the dining room worked. You started with one thing and then it snowballed. I think you should buy that beautiful white mirror, the big one, then other things will start to fit with it into your bedroom. Try it friend…. I think it will work for you and give you a style and feature for each area.

I totally get how you feel overwhelmed because you are in need of so many things for your home at once! So that you don't get overwhelmed with all of the styles and colors....what I would do if I were you is choose one piece, like a rug, or a pair of chairs, sofa or wall art, that you love the style, color or print of, then style the room around that. It may take a bit of time to collect everything, but in the end, it will be fabulous, and you will love it.

You need to check out Debi’s Design Diary. She has the esthetic you like and created a DIY paint and teaches you how to paint in her style. Her paint is a clay base and can be used on fabric furniture. She is on KZbin but also all the social media places. I know you will be like “where have you been all my life” as soon as you see her stuff. She thrifts and fea markets most of her stuff and then paints and redesigns… she is the BFF of your dreams!

I know you have five kids and not a lot of time. But I also know you're artsy and crafty. My daughter bought old table and little wooden school chairs for her kids and handpainted each one differently (an outer space theme on one, an artist theme on another, and a robot theme on the third) along with the table, to create a maker's space for her kids. So, I just saw another comment suggesting Eleanor paint a chair for Meredith. Same idea. That way you have the colors you want, and it's a one-of-a-kind piece.

My advice for your office….. Find one piece that you absolutely love and design around it, or pick one accent color and by a picture, an area rug ect and add pieces to it.

Your taste seems to be quite eclectic, I would spend time choosing the rugs, then take the colours from the rug, then search for furniture . I realize you have mega you tube bucks, but honestly, thrift stores have a lot of downsizing casualties for a fraction of those prices...just a thought

Probably easier to carry a note book with each room detailed out as size for the furnishings. Do 1 room at a time, maybe bring the child whose room you’re wanting new items for. Just a thought. I always have items in my mind for areas in my house but never find anything quite to my wants. Happy decorating

Just a suggestion, but if you just concentrate on one room at a time, it’s not so over whelming. Pick a room and just get that one done. If you see something you just have to have for another room, then get it cause it will stay on your mind and then it will be gone when you go back.

Did you see the last video from Clutterbug where she did her son's room & he wanted a hotel style? She hooked up with a store that does a consultation with an interior designer so they sat & shared ideas until they came up with something they loved. Not sure if they'd sponsor you so you don't pay but with all the overwhelming expensive decisions you have to make, I think it would be worth paying for a service like that, it was online but face to face & it seemed really casual & helpful, then you see the design which I think would help massively, you don't have to buy all the stuff from there either. Milo's room is so calming, relaxing but looks high end, that boy has class! ☺️

Find a piece of furniture and just paint it! It’s so easy…it’s just choosing the right paint. I’m in Tarpon Springs and I can help you… I would go with neutral color furniture and just accessorize with the colors you love….example pick out a neutral color chair and then add a pink throw pillow.

You can hire an interior designer for just an hour or two to get their ideas. You don’t have to hire them to do a whole job. I think you had a good idea there. Be cautious of buying a desk that’s too small. Small desks don’t do anyone any favors.

Those 2 striped club chairs would be perfect for on the wall under the tv in your bedroom. You could always get them recovered in a different fabric. They appear to be super high quality pieces that you could move around if you wanted them in other rooms too. They are lifetime pieces that you never get rid of.

Pieces at the thrift store would be cheaper. Although I agree everything there is gorgeous. At large white base you like you probably could find something very similar to that at Hobby Lobby or HomeGoods or are they at home store for a lot less than that price. Could you not buy furniture from the thrift stores and paint it the colour you want? That is what I have done sometimes, I’m in the UK and buy very cheap second hand furniture and make it i my own style. The antique stores you visited were so beautiful

The KZbin channel “But First Coffee” has a video from about two months ago where she hired an interior designer to give her input for her problem dining room. She used many of the designers ideas but found the stuff herself. She discusses about the cost and value.
