When I counted the number of eyeshadow palettes I have (42!), I realized why it seems like a long time in between using each one! I put a little Post-It note on each one and I write the date I wore that palette so I can keep track. Really helps to rotate them.

Oh my! I wish I had enough makeup to rotate with. Lol I own only drugstore and I own 1 foundation, 1 concealer, 2 eyeliners,1 sponge,handful of brushes,2 eyeshadow palettes(that I have yet to use either of,1 mascara etc. Lol but if I did have a big collect i know I'd be a total nut about organization.

Yup, I did it. Shopped the stash in the back of my drawers. Using some items that I had forgotten all about, and some that I had yet to ever try! (A true sign that I HAVE become a makeup hoarder.) Emily, you are inspiring on so many levels. I’m so glad I watched your video before getting ready today! Now, I cannot say that I looked anywhere near as glam as you do in the end. But I felt like a million bucks knowing that I’d given a little love to some “out of sight, out of mind” products that were tucked away. I’m vowing to stop the madness of over purchasing, and it’ll be tough, and I know it. BH Cosmetics had some great buys available and admittedly, I almost caved in and bought them. But in the end I got up and looked at my current collection and my resolve was strengthened. So thank you for giving me more inspiration to appreciate what I have and make the most of it. If you want to do this type of video on a regular basis, I am all in on tuning in to watch them! (But then again, I am always down for anything you’ve recorded! 😉)

Ive been doing the same thing. I actually just started a new thing similar to palette bingo. Pick 5 palettes you've not been reaching for and give them a number .. 1 to 5. Put the numbers in a bag, shake em up and draw a palette to use. Do everyday. Change palettes after a week.

Saturday morning coffee with Emily! Love it! In terms of mascaras smudging that didn’t used to smudge, I honestly think that some of that is my face changing with age. My eyelids droop a little more, the mascara touches my skin where it didn’t used to, or I’m using heavier eye creams under makeup to counteract more fine lines and the mascara is hitting a more emollient surface, those kinds of things. Definitely formulas change, but I have also found that skin changes that come with aging also change how items perform. Almost every mascara smudges on me now, where none of them used to. It’s not bad, just something I have to be aware of and check whenever I’m in front of a mirror. The bright side? Many of the face and eye creams are working to help brighten and decrease wrinkles, so I’ll take a little mascara smudging if it means my skin looks better!

I use my RCMA no-color powder most every day. I've got pretty good skin so I only use concealer where I need it and then brush the RCMA over my entire face! It works really well and I don't have to mess with foundation. I purchased the container of powder at least two years ago and have only used up a quarter of it! A little goes a long way and it sets the concealer and smooths out the rest of my skin. I love the stuff and it's only about $12 for 3oz!! Great deal and a great product!

I have been crying while watching American idol because of the talent and their stories and how positive they stay no matter how hard of a life they have had. Really makes you appreciate the little things in life and stop and not take things for granted because there are always people struggling. We all go through bad times and you never know what someone may be going through at the time. I just think that we should approach people with kindness because their world may be crashing down behind closed doors. I had to catch up on the talent on the American idol you tube channel because I missed the first episodes. I can’t wait to see what happens in Hawaii.

This is such a great idea! I have been rotating my eyeshadow palettes so they are used, I have more eyeshadow than anything else. Between my beauty subscription and all the palettes I bought from Hush's huge sales I have over two dozen palettes, plus I'm overrun with shadow singles, bronzers, etc--even after giving away to friends. I need to organize my makeup properly and I'm trying to figure out what storage to use. Right now it's in a few plastic containers in my closet and that's not working for me. I've been depotting the eyeshadow singles and placing them in an Adept Cosmetics magnetic palette; this has been helping to clear up some of the clutter.

I use an HD setting powder after setting spray just in my t zone. I find it really keeps the makeup in place!

Flower light illusion is my holy grail face concealer! My Walmart still has flower, but less, and the concealer isn’t there! Last time ulta had a bogo 50%, I bought 2! The lightest color is perfect for my skin tone, covers wear, and wears all day. Love it!

I’ve lost more than I weigh now. It’s a full time job, but at 48, I’m living my best life now. And my healthy life!!
