I bought the new whisper series 18v air cannon, with the now 14inch 5 blade non ac hook up down from your 18inch 3 blade air cannon. Now they use a barrel adapter for the wall outlet option. I have the new 4AMP hour HP battery, it ran on high speed for just under 2 hours. So if decide to use it with a battery I will need to get a 9amp Hp to get maybe 4-5 hours out of it on high speed that is.

Now this would make a perfect addition to my shop and even for water clean up. I can finally return my small P3320 Ryobi fans, awesome fans too, to my camping gear :-)). Thanks for the review!

I have one. It is a big fav around the pool in the summer, especially on the 9 ah battery.

I’m strongly considering getting one because where we live, we have power outages frequently. I’d have to make sure all my batteries are charged up just in case.

I don't own any Ryobi batteries, but I own two of these Ryobi cannon fans. I power them from Milwaukee M18 batteries + Ryobi adapter or from Greenworks 60-volt batteries and a Greenworks 60V 300W inverter. Grabbed each fan reconditioned for $100 on eBay. Works great to keep my wife cool when she gardens on a humid day. The only weak spot is the mechanical dial for cycling between OFF, High, Medium, and Low; it feels flimsy, so I try to use it sparingly. With a Greenworks 5 amp-hour battery (270 watt-hours under load), I can get 4.4 hours on High, 8.7 hours on Medium, and 15.7 hours on Low. I think an M18 12AH battery (216 AH) gives me 19 hours on low. But whether the fsn is running on DC converted from M18 or on 110V AC power inverted from a 60-volts battery, air output drops noticeably as the battery voltage drops, especially when the fan is set to High. I recommend Medium as the best compromise. Or plug it into the wall and blast away on High.

You got it figured out!! Thanks for the input. Yes, it's a great fan, especially for the money. We love the metal casing and guards. Thanks for watching.

I had bought this and ended up returning it. Just did not move enough air. I have a smaller milwaukee fan that does not move as much as this fan. The MIlwaukee is only a 9 or 10' blade. I hjad to keep the Ryobi on high setting to make it worth using and just normal weather. Now I do see that a new Milwaukee fan came out that is 3400 cfm, that is 1000 more cfm over the Ryobi. However, it comes with a price tag of $249.00

It's a nice fan when plugged in. Drains the battery really fast. I wouldn't have called it a Cannon either, but.

I've used battery fans before believe it or not this fan is actually pretty decent for its size the question is what battery are you using? My dad got over three-and-a-half hours on his on the speed 2 4ah battery

Thanks but unless I missed it, you left out two primary things that matter to me in a fan. 1) What type of motor, brushed or brushless? 2) What type of bearings, ball or sleeve and if sleeve, is there an access port to lube them? It's more than a little too expensive to me if brushed motor and sleeve bearings.

Not sure why they haven’t updated the M18 fan. I run it every day. I use it to sleep at night. However….they need to make it easy access to get inside the fan to clean the blades and inside of blade housing.

I went for the smaller 7.5 inch whisper fan and am happy with it, but I can see how an 18 inch fan would be underpowered on their system

Get a cfm tester and verify it, everything else is hot air, no pun intended. Must be sponsored by Ryobi, or should we believe a YT channel dedicated to reviewing tools doesn't have a $15 cfm tester to verify the most important spec. We don't NEED verification of dimensions and weight. We NEED to know how much air it's pushing

This fan sucks I'm disappointed. Low and medium settings are a waste. Only high is any good. High should be the medium setting and high should blow more air than what it does now
