Great tips Tim!! I use the high speed m12 3/8 almost everyday. It's been solid for 2 years. Runs well! I know il eventually have to do what you are doing to yours. Keep em comin!

Thank you Tim for these tips. I had the first gen M12 3/8" wrench and the "anvil" broke. I brought the replacement anvil... but scooped up the fat metal gray head M12... and was using that one for about a good year... and then the ball dropped out like the extended one in the video. There are no anvils available for the second gen on the secondary market like the first gen.. which I didnt mind because its stronger and holds up to breaking bolts loose, which is probably a no no on the first gen. So i sent my Gen 2 wrench to Milwaukee, thinking it was going to be covered... and they did not... and was given the option of them returning it in a disassembled state... or pay the $150 to have it "fixed" and shipped back to me. If i would of known that they were going to do "minimal" for what it costs me for a new wrench... i would have had them just send it back and i fix it later on when parts are available. I say all of that to say that i havent used the Gen 2 since getting it back... and have the Gen 3 High Speed M12 and that's my daily go to wrench and performs flawlessly. But will use this video to breakdown the wrench and give it a maintenence service... Thank you again Tim!

The actual housing that the head assy. sits in can also wear out allowing the ratchet to shift into neutral we'll say. For the longest time I couldn't figure it out. I ended up putting a thin shim between the head and housing assy. and it fixed the problem. I work in the collision industry and use these ratchets all the time.Milwaukee isn't even aware of it. I had my ratchet sent to them two times and it still did the same thing.Like I said it took a little while to figure out. In the end be aware that the actual hosing can wear out.

I've had the OG fuel 2557 for about a month now and it started a new thing today where instead of cutting out when the bolt is tight, it just keeps buzzing and vibrating. Not sure if I should warranty or return it and go for the ridgid long reach instead. The big battery on the ridgid turns me off but my other ridgid tools have been great

Are the 1/2 and 3/8 anvils interchangeable? Can I make my 1/2 into a 3/8 cause I always seem to be using mine with an adapter?

When the ratchet starts getting noisier than normal I take my high speed apart and clean it and put some new grease in it Only issue with the tool so far is one of the LEDs for the battery indicator doesn't work. Sure it could be fixed but I can't validate taking it apart to that level for a led.

Is there a place to buy just the cam? Got scammed on a brand new "open box" 3/8 m12 ratchet. The lobe at the end of the cam is snapped off

If this fix doesn't work is the part you replaced most likely to be worn?

I just got the brand new M12 Fuel Insider Ratchet, brand new out of the box and I grab the socket and press the trigger and it slips seems like no torque, but i have not even used it, and it is not dirty its brand new. is this normal, I also just tried it on some screws on my car and works fine but when i hold in my hand it slips, is this defective or is it normal this way slipping by me holding socket with my hand? any help is appreciated! thanks for making these videos! I really like the Insider would like to keep it I hope its normal this way, just seems weird
@boos7in200sx2 ай бұрын
Just got my insider today, and does exactly the same thing you are talking about here, slips in the hand like the video, but does not when I tested it on some 14mm bolts. Seems to be the way they are.

@@boos7in200sx Yeah seems the electronics knows the difference when it needs and does not need that extra torque power, mine has worked just fine with regular fastening and unfastening bolts, nuts, screws, and I am really enjoying it, if there was something wrong with it, it would Not work with the bolts and screws which are tight but tool is still able to loosen them up with no issues, I love this Insider Rathchet I am keeping it for sure! Enjoy yours Boos!

Is the Milwaukee new insider ratchet the same because I got mine a couple of months ago now and I can hold the socket still. I sent it in under warranty but they didn't fix it

I just got the new M12 Fuel Insider Ratchet, and I hold the socket and it spins, is yours doing the same? but I also tried it on my car some really tough fasteners and I did have to break them(loosen) a bit then worked fine, I also tried tightening one of the fasteners back in and I actually broke the fastener lol so it works, just weird that when i hold the socket in my hand it Slips, and this is a brand new out of the box M12 Fuel Insider, have you tried using it on some fasteners, seems to work, maybe its the way its built I am hoping someone with some knowledge on this issue can chime in.

@@HumbleLife8 Yeah, mine seems to do the exact same thing, but works fine when working on the car, brand new outta the box. So it seems that its meant to be like that?
