Bong Eats Why Bengali culinary and Odiya culinary are so similar. I mean here for example we have mutton kassa there in Bengali you have mutton kosha , etc.Same goes in almost all sweets.

I made this today and it was insanely tasty! My only change was to reduce the amount of sugar to 5g and the oil to 15g. You guys are the best!

I've tried both the microwave & steam process... In microwave, the prawns become rubbery, but when I use the the steam process, the prawns gets really soft...

@@promaparomitachowdhury9674 1. Put the prawns + marinade in a steel Tiffin box with lid. 2. Put some water in a kadai with lid and bring it to boil. Put the steel box in a stand inside the kadai. In low heat allow water to boil for 15 mins. Rest for 5 mins and serve hot.

This was a winner tonight! I was amazed how good this tasted compared to how much effort I put in, seems like I gamed the system today. As a fellow south Indian I understand how some don't seem to be sold on the idea of adding sugar to this. The sugar complements the overall taste profile and you could see that as you keep tasting the sauce and adding more sugar. This is my first time cooking/eating Bengali food and boy did it taste good. I'm planning on cooking more and possibly all recipes from your channel and would you recommend using 100% pure mustard oil for your recipes? I felt a very strong flavor of horseradish with the 100% pure mustard oil and am thinking of switching to using regular vegetable oil or cold pressed mustard oil, any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks for the all the beautiful recipes btw. Peace!

If you cannot handle the raw mustard oil, you should bring it to a smoking temperature and cool it down before using it. We bengalis love the strong mustard oil flavour.

I understand that if I double the quantity of prawns then I need to double the quantity of the ingredients as well. But should I cook it for double the time i.e. 10 mins ? Or the cook time will be the same - 5 mins?

You can skip it. The yoghurt besides adding some tartness also helps round off the sharpness of the mustard.
