He will still have to pay 600. Maybe it's a ruling change in the OCG but here in TCG a temporarily banished monster will always remember where it was summoned from and what type of summon it was. Also the Branded Despia player could've won game 2 even through his "misplay" which I think wasn't a misplay but rather a genius play. The only mistake was special summoning Aluber instead of adding it. The opponent has no Ash, Veiler nor Droll so no worries about those because he didn't use any of it when you resolved Branded Fusion and Patchwork. Activate Mirrorjade he chains F0 sure. Activate Quaeritis. Normal Aluber effect search Branded in Red. Attack with Quaeritis F0 deal 2500 now the opponent only has 2500 LP left. Crash Aluber into Mirrorjade lose 1200 sure and then activate Branded in Red targetting Aluber add back banish Aluber and whatever you have left (Edge Imp or Quaeritis doesn't matter) into Masquerade or Dragostapelia or Guardian Chimera it really does not matter just run over F0 for game.

for clarification the ruling was about Shizuku VS SP banishing her. Despite remembering it was link summoned, the reversal is that it won't get the search during the end phase, so it only affects the "if it was summoned this turn" part.

The ruling that got reverted is that a monster that is temporaly banished doesn't rember if it was summond this turn. So the skystriker water link whouldn't gets it's endphase eff. But it still remebers how it was sommuned so masq whould still burn for 600 after it returns from s:p banish.

@@jrtg5758 magnamhut works different than shizuku. Magnamhut activates on summon and placed a lingering effect that searches during the endphase. What happens to the card afterwords matters not. Even if a hot red archfiend were to negate it later that turn or it get's s:p banishef the lingering effect whould still go of. But Shizuku has the activation requirement of being summond that turned. So if shizuku get's summond then banished the card doesn't know anymore if it got summoned that turn and can't activate during endphase anymore.

You are correct. It also remembers where it was summoned from. I don't know about this ruling change but temporarily banished monsters used to always remember where they were summoned from (extra deck) and what type of summon it was (fusion).

New ruling is basically if monsters leave the field temporarily and come back, they don't "remember" how they were summoned. So Masquerade doesn't know it was Fusion Summoned, and thus the opponent doesn't have to pay 600 LP. It's a stupid ruling imo
