Short legs make a more skilled rider as he can't put easy dabs in with his feet.

That's absolutely what I told him...as he sat in the grassy bank with a bike in top of him 😂

Good filming lol, I was out the weekend with some good riders, and dropped it .... a few times let's say, but was not caught on camera so it doesn't count.... my new fear is ruts on grassy trails... I blame the tyres lol

His legs are fine, that’s an uneven ground situation. You could be 6’6” and get burned by those situations. Skill, balance and awareness are more important than long legs.
@lightweightadv Жыл бұрын
Haha yes agreed unfortunately I am not sure I have quite enough skill balance or awareness either 😂
@markeverson5849 Жыл бұрын
That's what's wrong with these bikes that are so tall your feet don't touch the ground which makes them a menace for slow trail riding with a heavy load or not but to really go slow and Scout the area out there a menace

Looks like they just ran out of skill rather than it having anything to do with the length of their legs. If you want to know what a really skilled and yet short rider can do then look up Gaston Rahier; he was only 1.64m / 5'3" tall.
@lightweightadv Жыл бұрын
I think my riding has a combination of both of these aspects tbh 😂 Brill, I will check them out thanks 👍

Do you ride?
@Jack-yl7cc Жыл бұрын
@@maxtaylor7533 Yes and for this kind of stuff at the slow speed they are going; Trials training would help a lot. Besides learning how to load the suspension to get over obstacles the Trials training would help with their sense of balance so they wouldn't need to put a foot down just because they momentarily came to a stop. Balance training doesn't have to be restricted to only while on a motorcycle either, there are a lot of good suggestions out there for how to train your balance specifically for motorcycle riding. Yoga, Tai Chi or similar slow movement exercises are also very helpful.

@@Jack-yl7cc , Nice! I never gave it a second thought that coming to red lights and trying to balance while waiting for the green was beneficial! 😄
