Short Metal Detecting Desert Adventure : Gold Prospecting

Today I explore an area that is rich in gold mining history and minerals. I use the Garrett Goldmaster 24K metal detector to search around some old gold prospects and mines. Although there were relics about, I was searching specifically for gold nuggets.
About Aquachigger:
I enjoy metal detecting for historical items like gold coins, relics, silver coins, and other buried treasures. I also metal detect for gold and silver nuggets and even meteorites. I like to make videos that promote my choice of lifestyle that includes outdoor adventure,

Great habit, walk around the truck every single time. Picked up a Ryobi air compressor that always has a strong charge. Goes w me as well as twice the amount of water, also, a jacket, even in summer time.

looks like copper ore (malachite, coper carbonate ) for the most part . any gold was probably mixed with and would weather out over time but it would be very small and mixed with the iron sand layer . might be a panning job

I had the same thought about black sand Chigg, should be a market. The only thing I ever came up with was, put it in one of those sand bags and use it for weight in the back of your car/truck. Thank you for another section of the out west series:) Happy Thanksgiving!:)

I've seen cactus out there go through thick leather like a hot knife through butter. Glad you took time to check for a leak. Those 'mines'... I'd be approaching them on my belly I think 🙂 as for me, it'd be too easy to stumble and fall in the dang thing.

You actually can get money for the black sand. It's used to make sandpaper and also there are people that buy it to test out mining equipment and get the gold you missed because of it lol. A 55 gallon drum was going for 14,000.00 several years ago. Just sayen. Hope you have a great day and thank you for everything!!
