Yes this is the IT cut right now where I am (Atlantic Canada) at least for my clientele. The best standard classic ever that can be textured and broken up beautifully, should you want it to be... love this! Great step by step on one of my favourite shapes! You rock!

Fantastic yes I love cutting this hair cut I wish it was the IT hair cut in the UK at the moment. Thank you 🙏🏻

Hey James I’ve so enjoyed the techniques you’ve shown and the “classics” really are some of my favourite things to keep learning and growing from. The past decades totally inspire me! In that light I’ve never known of a Sassoon long hair cut. Is there a Long Layer or Long Shag that he was famous for? If so, I would LOVE to see it! And I’d love to learn it from you! Of all the tutorials out there yours are by far the best! The content, the breakdown, the only saying what needs to be said is super refreshing! Tired of watching people who need to talk only for talkings sake. Hope you had a great time in Amsterdam (?). Have got to get there one day! Shawna
@TheLifeOfHair5 жыл бұрын
Face Up I totally Agree with you there is Shawna the past to is were it’s at. The only long haircut that he was ever famous for was the long graduation which is the same technique as the shag I’ll do a long graduation video at some stage I did a video about the shag I will link it in the comments, I am glad you are enjoying the videos I love making them so it’s fantastic that people enjoy watching them. Yes had a wicked time in Amsterdam thank you it is well worth visiting if you get the chance culturally so different to most places😁👍🏻

Oh that is fantastic Mark really great to hear that you are enjoying the videos as a barber, My early life as a hairdresser was barbering so I have a super soft spot for you guys big up the barber. 💈
@markconway6775 жыл бұрын
@@TheLifeOfHair I was taught traditional barbering but last year I purchased sassoon abc men and by studying it and by being more technical putting in clean sections, cutting using shapes square, triangle, circle etc has actually made me faster as some people say it doesn't but I disagree,love your videos and try to take bits and add it to my skill set thanks 💙

I was lucky enough to be a Vidal Sassoon hair model! Great for a poor student! And I got this short pixie from who ended up being one of Vidal seasons best. He then went on to do Fashion Week models NYC. But that old school Vidal Sassoon (early 90s I think?) turned out some incredible stylists!!! I still go to one! I knew there was a reason I’ve always loved your vids

GREAT cut. I love this cut and felt the same way about it when I saw the DVD. Demi Moore sported it in the movie Ghost and Chyna Phillips looked cute in it too, on the Wilson Phillips "Hold On" video. I modeled it for a creative hair artist when I was in my eartly twenties. LOL! OOH! it was made popular, too, when Bridget Fonda wore it in Single White Female. GORGEOUS!

Dear James, love all the vids you show. Thanks for sharing! Is it possible to show the hair cut of the late 70/early 80s? The layers which look like cascades. One runs through with fingers and the ectreme edges of the layers were shown. Sorry for my uneven description. Thanks! 🤷

Hi James, when you start your haircuts how do you know how long or short to take them for different looks?
@TheLifeOfHair4 жыл бұрын
This is a question that I find quite difficult to answer in the comments section I think I’m going to have to make a video about it to fully explain how I decide because it is too long winded to make a comment about so keep your eyes peeled for a forthcoming video about choosing the correct length for the style
