The confrontation between Sarah and Huia in the hospital car park ends in tragedy when a bomb planted in Ant's car explodes. As the hospital staff struggle to come to terms with what has happened, Ant tries to convince Tania that they need to flee whilst Craig is devastated to learn about the death of both Huia and his unborn child.

It's weird how this airs in Ireland but not the UK cos it's basically a Kiwi version of British hospital drama Casualty

When it did air on ITV in the 90s, it led into the midday showing of Home & Away and used to perform respectably in the ratings. Once Channel 5 got the rights to Home & Away in the early 2000s, Shorty started to slowly die a death. They tried to revive it in 2003 with a special programme to reintroduce it but alas to no avail. The 2010 revival on UK Living also didn't go very far.
