I like the Modular aspect of that can. Looks neat, waiting to see some range time with it. Just hope they get their pricing more in-line with others.

Another video of OSS that will only get laughs from me. Other than that, keep up the good work NFA Review Channel.

How much hands on time do you have with them?
@arturo10667 жыл бұрын
NFA Review Channel enough with the old stuff. Local SOT by me had a demo a couple years back. Shot the OSS cans side by side with the other big players. I wasn't impressed. Also, the videos OSS has put out looks to be faked.

Did you even watch my full review on their NEW Helix 556? You said old stuff so I assume you missed it.

discontinue the older lineup

I agree with this statement. I still get confused. It would be nice to start fresh and use simpler names for each suppressor. That said, I was impressed with the performance of the Helix 556 (I did a full review) and it was much better than the first OSS can I shot years ago.

I want to take these guys more seriously, but it's the tacticool aesthetic that puts me off. They don't have to be octagonal, they just think it looks cool. Does the end cap have to look like a jet turbine, or did they just think it looked cool? They just had to put the word "operator" in their name didn't they? Cool. I just want a tube that makes my gun quieter. Simple as that. But that's just me. There are always alternatives for those of us who aren't feeling it. You do your thing and don't listen to us haters.

Got it..Wonky name. But operators who operate in operations operationally think out stuff's legit (I'm trying to be funny here). If all you're doing is chasing sound, then perhaps you're right. But if you are also concerned about being repeatable, minimal and consistent POI shift, temperature, and lower back-pressure, you'll find that entry level cans that only reduce sound well won't cut it. OSS offers a solution for folks wanting to gain all the advantages of sound suppression, without sacrificing weapon performance. No blowback, no increased bolt speed, no increase cleaning and fowling etc. The rifle performs the same with and without the can on it. I can get into detail as to why the end-cap is designed the way it is and why we use an octagon sleeve, if you like?

Plenty of suppressors have made advancements addressing those issues over the years, and I don't see any convincing evidence that we have to reinvent the wheel and market with blind hype to do so. But yes, I am quite interested in fully understanding the reasoning behind some decisions I find questionable. Why the octagon? From what I've seen it's just a sleeve around a normal cylindrical inner tube that acts as the pressure vessel, leading me to believe it was an aesthetic choice. Does the endcap serve a funcional purpose beyond flash suppression? Now that I think about it, I've never seen you or anybody testing your products mention muzzle flash before. Hmm. At the end of the day, all I really want is a well controlled, unbiased independent test that compares OSS and it's competitors on the same gun under the same conditions. So far nothing mathing that description exists afaik, though I could be wrong.
