I like the 6.5 Grendel. It is a midrange round that packs a punch and can get deer as well. 6 ARC is a longer range round, but doesn’t hit as hard on the other end.

I've been eying up some of the mini-actions available in 6.5 but all of them are quite a lot heavier than I think they ought to be. I want something that'll sort of disappear when it's slung on my back rather than a heavy pseudo-competition rifle.

Running 6.5 since 2018. Puts deer and hogs down well and is a blast to shoot. I don’t see any real reason to go 6 arc. If you are allured by 6 arc, 22 arc is likely a better option anyways.

The TP9 to hub adapter is huge. I already have a 9mm pcc can, and that is one of the biggest reasons why I haven’t gotten a TP9. I may still hold off on it, depending on what PSA (I know) does with their X9. I like that it’s lever delayed blowback. I hope they go with the X57 style upper. I’d be happy with either Glock or B&T mags. The ICAR uses the 68 receiver set dimensions from the LWRC. I’m all for it. The LWRC 68 was kind of a flash in the pan, because it was only a 68 and no one made another receiver set to use those mags. That’s coming from a guy who loves his 68 spc (not a lwrc rifle though).

You could buy a second polymer rail section and add it to the left side, I've seen it done before with the rivets from the right side, HKParts sells the rail section. Perhaps low profile screws would work as well? Would be cheaper than buying a whole new upper

Iirc the ICAR is an advancement of the LWRC 6ix8ight platform. Its an AR15 but stretched in the magwell, making the lower, upper, magazine, and BCG unique items but everything _should_ be standard.

The ICAR lower was pioneered by LWRC and their six8 line. I've heard it is patented or something but several companies are making lowers anyway. I've also read that standard AR uppers will "fit" but they have to be gunsmif'd to add magazine feed lip clearance.

I have not used 6 arc yet. But on paper its just better. More bullet at the same speeds as 556. Guns are the same ar15 every one use mostly. So other then mags not being reliable and cost of ammunition it should just win. And as you said magpul probably just fixed the mag issue

You probably want to be really careful about what can you run on your TP9. The rotating barrel system I've heard is really sensitive to backpressure, so only something like the new Huxwrx Flow 9k Ti or the Range 36 Ti can guarantee you won't cause damage to the system if you go off-brand.
