Just remember when you watch this movie in real life the Samurai had no issue using firearm's and that in real life they only used swords and such because they ran out of ammo for their guns.

Actually a majority of clans and families choose not to use gunpowder weapons because of the past emperor who closed Japan and made it a lot more about tradition and honour, only one man that was competing for emperor used guns in mass, and because instead of having to train years and years to achieve samurai sword or spear skills, any peasant could shoot a gun, this emperor quickly spread the use of firearms and was one of the main reasons the samurai era of japan ended

In the first film the samurai use muzzle-loading rifles, while their opponents use bolt-action rifles.

このようなシーンは最新の研究では戊辰戦争ではほぼ無かったのではと言われていますね刀で銃に立ち向かうような戦闘は実際はこれより前の禁門の変で起こったようです。世間のイメージと逆に長州が薩摩と会津に突撃したようですね。戊辰戦争の時点では会津藩も全員銃に装備転換済み、新選組ですら大半が銃装備だったそうです。幕府側が敗れたのは兵にも士官にも戦意なく、官僚化した藩士たちがすぐに逃げ出したからです新選組のようなたたき上げの小グループと、幕府陸軍のような超エリート組織だけがまともに戦えたようですね。

作戦・指揮官とか士気が残念だっただけで、装備は薩長の新式火器と遜色なかったっていうよね

Samurai are masters at close combat. But against an army of guns from far range, they have no chance. If the Samurai had gotten over their pride and learned to use guns, they would have been around just a little bit longer before completely perishing under the colonial force.

Who told you that samurais had not guns? During sengoku period "ashigaru" the peasent soldiers were armed with matchlocks and fired under the orders of samurai warriors. Even in boshin war period old shogunate army equiped with snider breech loading rifles and Enfield musket. But that although provided them by french officer "Jules brunette" who helped old shogunate.
