Thank you very much for the upload. It is very refreshing to see the classic Shotokan kumite, instead of today's jumping jack style kumite.

Really it is karate
@coopersheldon3942 ай бұрын
@@elijahmandlazi26 Undoubtedly; hence the official casually walking across the floor at least nearly as fast as they can punch, it really is karate, and karate really is acting. That 14:10 casual step back from the referee; he could out speed people on two four-hour energy drinks (heart attacks in a bottle) if he could move like that in real life (off-camera). Reminds me of Bruce Lee punching a guy into a wall that made an accurate cutout of him at an ice factory. Cool stuff, if it were real. But since it is a film with special effects like frame skipping (it's really fun to point out the "magic teleport punches" amidst the officials doing casual teleporting feet techniques within a frame or so at similar speeds), I'd say that some eighties movie characters would easily defeat them. Unfortunately, in the real world, a karate "grandmaster" could not match my speed when I threw three moves in sequence before he could blink at a shadow sparring match, then he said taking an unguarded elbow to the face at full strength is worth him kicking below the belt; I'm sure Mike Tyson would gladly take the hit beneath the belt for a powerful head shot. But...the funniest part is that he said I was "fast"...when he thought I was having a panic attack and eventually found out it was an asthma attack that was causing me to breathe rapidly and shallowly. An opponent who can barely breathe and didn't have his inhaler on him outsped a karate "grandmaster" with two punches and a kick before he had time to blink. Now _that_ is funny! Almost as funny as my video being taken down from three sites showing me lighting up a three-hundred-and-fifty-pound bag. I see why the Sanhedrin paid off the Romans to spread rumors that the Lord did not rise. And yet here I am, following Christ Jesus, King of my People: the Jews.
@coopersheldon3942 ай бұрын
Should I tell you of the time that an eigth degree okinawan karate "grandmaster" punched less than half as strong and less than half as fast as a poorly trained blue belt (one year total experience) in a diluted form of tae-kwon-do, even though the latter was out of practice for twenty years, had a frozen shoulder, a torn acl, etc.?
@coopersheldon3942 ай бұрын
Or, is it best to let you know that Mas Oyama was a ROK solider who diluted the training down to the point where head punches were not instantly lethal? Do you really think that the ROK Army White Horse and Tiger Divisions killed enemy soldiers in the Vietnam rat holes using the _sport_ version of tae-kwon-do (fake-kown-do)?

Y las catas ?? Porque no las aplican ? Nunca lo hacen en combates
@leondavidmunozlozano79735 жыл бұрын
Porque las katas no son para aplicarse en un combate sino en defensa personal... Hay una diferencia enorme entre enfrentarse a alguien en una pelea tipo boxeo con reglas y otra defender tu vida de un asaltante en la calle
@yeshuaeselmashiaj60375 жыл бұрын

You should have a sport spirit, so you have to only simulate a hit, but he punched too strong in the opponents head, and in a sport, it is not acceptable by the judges.
@Kevins-Philippine-Retirement2 жыл бұрын
@@adriancotter7368 True Karate kumite is a test of proper technique execution. To score ½ point or 1 point (ippon), the competitor must demonstrate decisively: timing, distance, accuracy and speed(power). The distance has to be demonstrated so decisively that the judges determine correct sundome(within about 2cm)with absolute control of the distance, that the Karateka could have just as easily changed it to be destructive. Excessive contact demonstrated lack of distance control.

This “kokubun” guy (who do not even deserve capital letter) is not, never was and never ever will be a sensei. He is just a very bad loser who, desperately, seeing that he could never win the fight against Sharp, decided to intentionally hit him seriously, out of the rules, in a cowardly way (hansoku = shameful serious intentional fault) so to be disqualified, because losing within the rules would have been an unbearable embarrassment to kokubun’ petty ego. Shame on this miserable and ignoble kokubun, who never practiced karate within the spirit of budo.
