Ive enjoyed the video but as a world traveler, in other countries, many natives don’t feel as though integrating in the way she is expressing is a benefit to the people of that land. There are lots of nuances to the conversation of how Americans see integration vs people of the actual land. It truly depends on the way you do all things. Nevertheless, great video

This is dope. I like how she keeps framing and reflecting the point back to us as "If you are American, think about what Immigrants do in America". Within the context of that framing, I would also add that ONE of the things immigrnts do in the US is ....WORK TOGETHER!!!!!!!! Perhaps not all across the board but they usually do things in groups and are able to build things that cater toward their groups and others. I think that portion is KEY and particularly for Black Americans, not just in our native US, but even moreso abroad. While taking advantage of various arbitrage lifestyles, I think it is important to recognize opportunities when we see them and take advantage of working together, and with locals of whereever we are. We really have chances to enact some Dr. Claud Anderson type of economic empowerment to then be in a better position to help others if they be our peoples back home, our host nation friends etc. I think that point should be drilled down into a lil more. Just about every major city in the US has a ChinaTown, or some varible of that where they have worked together to service themselves and others. I think Black Americans living abroad could and should do them same type of thing.

I see a lot of mixed couples in Brazil than anywhere on the planet. We should really move away from the conversation about Black men being accepted in the land where the majority are Blacks. Over the past decade, the percentage of Brazilians who consider themselves White has dropped from 48 percent to 43 percent, according to the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics, while the number of people who identify as Black or mixed has risen from 51 percent to 56 percent.

The majority ain’t Black. I never saw a mixed person considering themselves white, in the worst case scenario they consider themselves not being black. What’s fine too, since when you’re light-skin mixed and consider yourself black, the companies or whatever chose you as black and the dark skin person don’t get the job. They say well we needed a black person so they don’t call us racist, we have 3 mixed person working for us here.

@@DizzyMakavelli I think you are talking about discrimination. I agree Blacks are discriminated against in Brazil and everywhere else. You know we have the same problem in the UK. But thank GOD, there are many careers with a shortage of staff. That's why you will find Indians and Black doctors and nurses all over the country. Then we have self-employed Blacks who work as uber drivers, earning a decent amount. I think we need to improve ourselves. I have African friends here who are sending their kids to Eastern European countries to study medicine and come back here to be Doctors. There are opportunities for higher education people. Instead of working in cheap jobs, we need to aim higher to beat poverty.

You are trying to apply what "mixed" means in your country and what "mixed" means in the USA and apply it to Latin America but "mixed" has a totally different meaning in Latin America. There are a large percentage of the "mixed" population with ZERO Black ancestry. Mixtures of European. Amerindian. Asian. Middle Eastern. Jewish. etc... You do not have a clue as to what you are talking about.

I am black, Brazilian. I have lived in the US for a while, and racism in the US is MUCH worse. That boy is exaggerating, I am from Fortaleza as well. In the USA, things are really segregated, and people treat you like trash when you're black. In Brazil, it is much better, especially in states like SP, RJ, or Bahia. REALLY, racism in the USA is shockingly strong :(

There are different ways to measure and experience the different systems of racism. And everyone's experience is unique. I've known Black Brazilians who have told me they felt racism in Brazil was worse than what they experienced in the USA, but they saw similar patterns in both countries. I have not been to Brazil, but I'm told Brazil is much less segregated than the US, but Black Brazilians are poorer and face a higher rate of police violence than Black USAians. I'm interested to hear more dialog among Black USAians and Black Brazilians. We should build solidarity and learn from each other.

When dudes on in the internet says “I’m fluent” they are lying. In US people don’t change their inflection for nothing? Like Camisola is Shirt in Portugal, in Brazil is the thing women put before sleep. Durex is a tape you use to glue things in Brazil, in Portugal is Condom. Rapariga in Portugal is something like a young lady, in Brazil is something like a hooker. Cacetinho in Portugal is bread, in Brazil is small penis. The list is giant.

To the best of my knowledge, the woman being interviewed is not a Black man, and is not involved with Black men. In order to live in Brazil you have to be retired and your pension should at least be $4000 a month or adopt or have a child born in Brazil or marry a Brazilian. Just having a job making USD not going to give you residence in Brazil only be able to work and pay Brazilian taxes. Also your need to do a FBI criminal background check. Then the papers most be Apostle. All other paperwork must be done in Portuguese and apostle in Portuguese.❤also medical you need a medical plan to see a doctor in Brazil and to keep it 100 Doctors in the USA are way better keep that in mind for the future of your well being (Health).

To live in Brazil requires some ⚽️, paper work in Brazil is crazy. I refused to go the army, I spent almost a month trying to put documents in order, everyday going to the City center. Everyday entering to a different building. Over here, you need a paper to get a paper of the paper. Let alone the other things. 😂

@@PhillyDom A retirement visa in Brazil is only $2000 USD per month. And that doesn't mean you have to be full retirement age. Of course, there are other types of visas (Digital Nomad, for example), each with different requirements. Most countries are gonna require something like a background check for residency. But most people don't have to worry about the results of that check. Brazil has private and public medical care. Public medical care is free to ALL ... including tourists. No need for private (a medical plan), unless you want the extra care, or you become a permanent resident (and those plans are inexpensive). I guess everyone might have an opinion about the "quality" of care. But I really don't see a big difference. I would have no problem trusting the care here (unless I am in a "rural" area, and that would be the same in the US). I am 74 years old, disabled military. So I know a little something about medical care. I also spend a large portion of the year living in an internal Brazilian city where very little English is spoken. (And ... my opinion ...the racism in Brazil is NOT worse than America. Not even close. The people I know ... Afro Brazilians ... are happy to stay in Brazil. Unless they are using their passports to travel the world.)
