Arnaud! I LOVE your content. You're so confident to walk up to people and ask them questions. I recognise it's all in Sheffield, so hopefully you will stop and ask me a question one day! :)

Yeah, they drink a lot here. My previous flatmates drunk like crazy. We always had the glass recycling bin stached and alarmingly overfilled pretty much all the time. The problem is, they were broke all the time but could buy alcohol and drinks in pubs which isnt really cheap! My landlady who's 70 of age drinks a lot too, freaking everyday. She doesnt get wasted or anything but the amount she drinks is detrimental for her age. The drinking culture here is mental here, I don't understand why concerns aren't raised much about the topic.

I think there are the shoots of a new temperance movement growing in the UK. Alcohol consumption is actually falling amongst younger adults in the UK. It has a very long way to go though. The number of good quality 0% ales available is growing hugely. Contrary to what the young woman said about the proliferation of pubs, the number has reduced radically since when I was young (I'm 54), statistics support this. Since I was young, the banning of smoking in pubs, cost and the invention of the breathalyser has impacted (especially in rural areas). When I was a kid, you could not buy alcohol in supermarkets (we only had Kwik Save which meant you had to go into a separate off licence). The availability of cheap wine in supermarkets in the UK has normalised it's mass consumption in excess. Even still, the UK really needs to change it's relationship with alcohol. It has impacts health hugely; the proliferation of cancers (mouth, throat, stomach, liver), the mental health epidemic (it's a very strong depressant drug which should not be used to self medicate, is disinhibiting and fuels impulsivity... and is a contributing factor in a high proportion of suicide attempts). It fuels the epidemic of domestic abuse leading to our young people developing emotional and personality disorders as they grow up in it's shadow. It affects sleep and people's productivity and experience of work. It contributes to accidents. We tend to laugh at our relationship with alcohol in the UK, as your video shows. We shouldn't! It's another example of the insidious effects of neo-liberalism here in the UK. Keep going with your content!!

I think we should invest in alternatives to alcohol and drugs...things that can give us the same mental state as the drugs nin-invasively such as electromagnetic stimulation.

More than any culture I have seen. They have one of the highest alcoholism rates in the world and it's heavy ingrained in the culture. Also a bottle of soju at the store is $1-2 dollars, and a 550ml beer is about $1-2@@ArnaudFromFrance

Its fair to say there are other substances that are banned, which are less harmful.

Unpopular opinion : yes provide better entertainment for a sober lifestyle here. alcohol is the worse “normalised drug.” The amount people die from alcohol is more than any other drug. Also most rape attacks come from alcohol abuse and they should provide better mental health here in uk instead of being in zombified state .

Why ? Because you don’t drink , shall we ban betting , shall we ban football , shall we ban prayers , shall we ban food of course not , stop trying to ban things just because you don’t like it , an stop people from having what they like enjoying, I’m an occasional drinker nothing heavy , but I don’t appreciate other people making that decision for me just because they don’t drink , I had an idea this was coming .

Ridiculous yo even think about banning alcohol. I'm tea total after seeing the effect drinking had on my dad, but banning it would be horrific. There'd be bootleg alcohol, laced with all sorts of chemicals, with no quality control, no safeguarding regulations, and distributed, pushed and profitted by criminals. It's definitely not the answer.

Sugar yeast fruit of any kind mix all three ingredients listed in container let it sit for a week or two and there you go you have alcohol so easy it's done in jail so yeah safe to say banning alcohol is just stupid and pointless
