Just a quick testimony: My wife and I watched this episode and finished it yesterday. We both prayed over each other. We both did yoga before we got married and alittle in our earlier years. Yesterday, we prayed through the deity names and not much happened, but the deity with the monkey face stood out to me. Then we prayed through the different phases and when we got the one about breathing I felt it. We prayed for deliverance. My breathing since then has changed. Throughout the night, I had weird dreams about things I have been anxious about in my life since starting yoga. And I felt the Lord releasing me from these different anxieties. Then this morning, I woke up and talked with the Lord, and I asked him which deity was connected to, and I realized it was the deity with the monkey face. My wife told me she had a dream/vision of a monkey evil Spirit trying to get in the house and her shutting the door. So then we prayed for that evil to leave our house and never return. This morning truly feels like a breath of fresh air. I greatly appreciate the ministry y’all have here.

I don’t know, to me it all depends on what is being invoked during the practice. Your metaphor of a non Christian taking communion falls short because when taking communion there is a clear designation by the one administering the bread and cup of what is happening. On the other hand if a non Christian just walked up and ate bread and wine with a group Christians at a restaurant they would not be drinking judgment on themselves because the context of eating the bread and wine has changed. It is no longer a religious service where the death of Jesus is being proclaimed. This is the same argument Paul makes about the food sacrificed to idols that y’all mentioned in the episode. At a market Paul says it’s fine because the gods aren’t real, but he is hesitant about recommending eating at a pagan religious ceremony because of all that comes with it. It’s all about the context of the action. As well as the conscience of the one partaking. If someone is doing yoga and none of the religious things are mentioned. There’s no spiritual element invoked at all. Then I think it’s completely fine. Indians don’t have a monopoly on bodily poses and stretches. Paul makes the same point about food in 1 Corinthians 10, the earth is the Lord’s and everything in it. Only reason I’m commenting is because I think y’all may be unnecessarily binding people’s consciences and telling them something is wrong that scripture doesn’t say is wrong. And you may be causing people to live a life of unnecessary fear based on this type of logic. But y’all are faithful brothers and y’all’s perspective should be greatly considered. Ultimately everyone will stand before God based off their own decisions.

Hey thanks for the video. I appreciate your heart in this and a lot of what was stated was very good. I have lived and ministered in these cultures (Hindu/Buddhist), and feel that there are some things to think about as we deem something demonic or sin. From John’s use of Logos to Paul’s use of the “Fullness” (Pleroma, Colossians 2:9), and the use of Pagan odes to Zeus (Acts 17:28) not to mention the reappropriating of pagan festivals such as Saturnalia (Christmas) or Eostora (Easter), Christian’s have used to contextualize the Christian story within the pagan stories. While everything that was stated here is true about the Hindu story within Yoga movements, they are irrelevant to those that use Yoga as a stretching routine. This same argument is what Paul is working through in 1 Corinthians 8-10, in which some things might not be beneficial and should be avoided, while eating foods sacrificed to idols is ok as long as your conscience (Motives) are fine, and unlike what was stated in this video, motives is not a western concept at all. It is deeply rooted in the depth of our sins as seen in the use of “Desire” (Epithumia) and the “Heart” throughout the Bible in the Old and New Testaments. Thanks again, I’m not trying to be contrary, but I think this kind of argument actually is western, and needs some thoughtful dialogue around the issue. Blessings!

Something interesting I've come to find out - we have believed for a long time that when we discuss a topic, we are going about it rationally. At least, that's what discourse, mock trial, debate has generally supported. However, not long ago I heard a psychologist talk about cultism, political ideology, and how you can't seem to get people to think anymore. Long story short, whatever belief we have, whatever "truth" we hold onto, it was birthed from emotion first. It's our logic that works the back end and finds means to justify it. essentially if you believe it's wrong to kill animals for consumption, you didn't get to that conclusion logically. You had an emotional take on a topic and then your brain found neuropathways to justify your stance. With yoga, or anything with the church, it may be wise to realize when discussing things with other Christians, their pushback or justification for not agreeing with us probably stems from an emotional / heart issue. And if you wanna combat it with logic? You mind as well be speaking Icelandic to their English. It an't gonna be received or understood.

I agree that if someone is doing a pose to channel Ramen, then yes that is bad. Yoga has poses with silly names that are also normal stretches that normal people do. For instance, what yoga calls the child's pose is just a back stretch, what they call a cat-cow is just a way to target lower back ligaments and is crucial for alleviating sciatica (relieves pressure on the nerve from inflamed muscles). I get that maybe some yoga guy believes he is channeling gods with these stretches, but for us normies, we are doing normal stretches that our God given bodies allow us to do. Yoga has soooo many positions... chances are you are doing unknowingly some of them when you warm up for any physical activity (rule #18 limber up). This video selected a few poses in a sequence meant to tell an ancient story, but there are so many poses that were not mentioned that are not called poses to most people, just normal stretching. The butterfly stretch, bending over to touch your toes, planks... all poses found in yoga. I can give no craps about yoga as a practice, but I don't believe that the devil can co-opt movements that our bodies were created to perform long before yoga thought it was cool...

@23:58 both Chiropractic & Osteopathy were developed by two different men who were spiritualists and who participated in occultic practices such as magnetism, energy healing etc..regularly. Séances were a normal part of their spiritualism. They used the term "God" and classified Chiropractic work as part of their religion practice to escape being sued for practicing medicine without a license. Palmer on one hand said he was the Head of that religion just as Muhammad is the head of Islam and Jesus is Christianity. On the otherhand he mocked the idea that it was an actual "religious" practice. This was from his own written journals. His knowledge was recieved from a demonic source. I love you guys but both of those "sciences" that are practiced now were 100% derived from demonic sources. I've read the founder of Chiropractic works sources and he was NOT a christian and it was not a "thought" that just gave him the idea. He stated he got it from an intelligent spirit entity & likened that knowledge to the same type of "inspiration" as biblical inspiration. His son later clarified that the "entity" that presented itself as a deceased doctor happened at a séance at a spiritualist meeting and the instructions for the development of the entire practice was from this source. I would not encourage Chiropractic work, even though most Chiropractics now a days do not acknowledge or discuss the origins b/c they dont agree with it, it is a fact. Palmer used God and God talk to promote his practice and make it appeal to a predominantly christian audience at the time. It is not wisdom to promote such a practice. Can it be redeemed? I'll leave that to your judgment as men of God, i would say no, knowing what I've read. Just because the knowledge of the body is recieved is accurate and "works", doesn't mean it should be practiced. I personally think its dangerous to promote it. Just as demonic as Yoga. I appreciate you talking about it. If anyone personally used Chiropractic work, i would go to the original source, DD palmers work (journals & books) read them, pray about it and let the holy spirit guide you as to whether you continue to go to the practitioner. To be fair, most practitioners don't even know the origins.

@@TheRemnantRadio there’s a difference between eating bread and wine with a group of friends and eating bread and wine for communion at church. What’s the difference? The religious context of the eating and drinking. A person doesn’t bring judgment on themselves simply for eating bread and wine outside of the context of a Christian religious ceremony where the death of Jesus is being proclaimed. The same is true for yoga. If there’s no religious element involved at all in the actions then it is simply stretches and poses. Once the religious and spiritual ceremonial aspects are incorporated is when it becomes problematic. That is precisely what Paul is arguing in the passages about food sacrificed to idols. Eating the meat in the market is fine, but eating meat when a person says this has been sacrificed to xyz god is not. What’s the difference? The religious context of the actions. Would love to see you invite someone from one of the Christian Yoga practices to get that counter perspective and hear how they may see this as a way to pray and honor Jesus with their bodies, you know the God who created our bodies. People can give things He created to other gods, and they do, but does a false god own postures and body movement? Seams we are giving false gods more power by acting this way. I'm sure it can be a stumbling block (just as wine can be) for people out of the cult, but does a false god really own the things we can use to honor our true God. If you posture to a false god, that is different than yoking yourself with, praying too, and meditating on Yahweh.
@sawette236 ай бұрын
But why using postures created to worship demons to worship Jesus with our body ?? You can do many things, why using yoga ?? Plus, it's bring confusion, in the body, but also in the world because we continue to name it "yoga".
@jeramysteele6 ай бұрын
With all the postures (hundreds) that their gods claim, doesn't leave much room for us to worship the true God, who created our body, to honor and worship Him. Geez even kneeling, bending, bowing have all been used as postures to false God. So do we give up what is His just because others have used it for pagan practices?
@jeramysteele6 ай бұрын
Also Yoga means "yoked"...does not the Bible reference yoked? Can we be Yoked with Christ?
@sawette236 ай бұрын
@@jeramysteele I don't understand why it seems so important to defend "yoga". Not doing yoga is easy and you can still practise stretching, exercice your deep muscle etc. You can also dance if you want. Why people go in an occult practise to grab some stuff that looks cool ? I know many non christians who do yoga and they ALL submit themselves to some kind of spiritual stuff. Because it's not just doing postures, there is a series of postures, prepared by the teachers, some guidance, an aim to free people by "connecting". It's like with the golden calf. People wanted to have a god like in Egypt, they wanted to do the same thing. They thought it was a way to worship Yahvé and it was a huge mistake. Yoga is like the golden calf. "Oh it's just a statue and we want to worship God, what is the issue ?".
@jeramysteele6 ай бұрын
@sawette23 it's not Yoga practice I'm defending. It's the idea of giving to God what IS God's. Giving up body movements because other false gods claim those body movements essentially is eliminating things our God created because another god creates a false claim to own those things. If something is healthy and has benefits and you use it to honor the God who created it, why allow that to be stolen from you do to a name or a false claim?

How can a true Christian, filled with The Holy Spirit ve inhabited by both The Holy Spirit and a demon? I have to strongly disagree that a true Spirit filled Christian can have a demon in them, because you can both have the light and darkness in you.

It's almost equivalent to a Catholic using a rosary to recite/pray/recall the gospel. Each bead represents a part of the gospel and that is how it is used. Yoga, the way you're explaining seems equally the same yet with poses instead of beads with a different religion.

If my practicing yoga in front of you makes you weak then I won't do it in front of you. But we don't live in India. What matters is the heart's intent and not doing something in front of a brother that would make him stumble. So I would not do it in front of a person of weak conscience. Nor should you judge those who do engage who's conscience is not condemning them.

@@paulral That is purely anecdotal. What's a word to back that up that yoga poses apart from the religious spiritual meditative part is wrong. I think about what I said what I said. When Derek Prince was in the ministry some people were into the practice of yoga for spiritual reasons. I would agree Christians should not practice yoga in the spiritual sense, but there is nothing wrong with doing the "poses" to get a good stretch. When i was in fire academy one of our recruits also happened to be a yoga instructor. Before our extremely physically demanding days, she would lead us in various stretches that incorporated movements from yoga. It was a great warm up for the day, nothing spiritual or weird, just stretching in ways that worked muscle fibers i knew not existed. If some guru or whatever uses these movements for nefarious reasons, that is on them. In my younger years I also enjoyed training in MMA. Is that also wrong because MMA, although entirely non-spiritual at its core, has movements that come traditional martial arts, and if you go back far enough, traditional martial arts can have a spiritual component? What about drums in music? Drums have been used in pagan idolatry. If i listen to some drums in music, is that a gateway to the sinister? No. So yes, christians should not worship hindu dieties through yoga. But if you happen to incorporate stretching moves and positions into your workout because its a good workout, you are not in danger of joining the cult from The Temple of Doom.

To me it sounds like you guys are limiting the power of Jesus Christ! I can’t trump God’s power no matter what I do! I just don’t have it! PERIOD! 1 Cor. 15:22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. If you give that “thing” power then you are enabling that “thing” to have power in your life. Sex, drugs, rock and roll, yoga name it whatever that is your god! You now have given that thing power in your life. However, being redeemed by the death and resurrection of Jesus supersedes sin and death as well as sex, drugs, rock in roll or yoga or whatever. 1 Cor. 15:28 When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all. Maybe I don’t understand the definition of the word “all” but I think it means everything, right? Hence, why I think you’re limit what God can do or already did do back when He was raised from the dead! God put “all” things under His authority not mine. I can’t do squat! God can do whatever He wants!
