Irwin Tilley and Sandie Frankenstein - There have been many documentaries over the years, speaking to the heinous Roman crucifixion. As Brandon explained, a true crucifixion was intended to be humiliating, as painful as it could be and long-suffering. Remember, Jesus was the Son of Man, but God in his own right. The Thursday before the crucifixion, after the Last Supper, Jesus took the disciples, Peter, John and James, to the Garden of Gethsemane, as he wanted to pray. He asked them to stay back and pray and went forward. As he was praying, as God, he was able to see and feel what was ahead - the scouraging, the carrying of the cross and the actual crucifixion. He was perspiring and the tears he shed were mixed with blood. He asked His Father if it was possible for " this cup to pass me by. Not as I will but as yours". Three times he prayed this request, returning to his sleeping disciples in between. And, each time, his Father didn't answer him. So, not only did he experience agony in the Garden of Gethsemane, he realized God was not going to intervene. Long story (a major flaw). I have worn a cross as an infant. When I started school, we all wore crosses. But, as an adult, I wear a crucifix (Jesus on the cross) 24/7 as a reminder that Christ endured what he did because of my sins; everybody's sins. He did this so that I would be spared hell and would be with him eternally in Heaven. I never want to forget how much I am loved, even though I still have "debts" because of sin. There has never been a time when anyone said anything negative to me about my crucifix. And, only before I am cremated may it be removed. My God bless you and your family always.

It seems people have long forgotten what the cross actually means. If you really look at the text, and the origins of the cross, you'll see that Jesus didn't actually die on a cross, but a simple stake. Also the image of the cross is actually rooted in pagan Babylonian origins. The cross existed long before Jesus even came to earth. Moreover, the Bible strongly warns Christians to “flee from idolatry,” which would mean not using the cross in worship.-1 Corinthians 10:14; 1 John 5:21. Significantly, Jesus said: “By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love among yourselves.” (John 13:34, 35) Jesus thereby indicated that self-sacrificing love-not the cross or any other image-would identify his true followers.

@@sengastone3775 that's my point.. we don't have to be recognized as Christians... it doesn't matter what faith a person is as long as they're doing their deeds. Crosses, kufi's, beads and star of David is tools of division. They are not necessary in the big scheme of righteous living. Really just all for show 🤷🏾♂️

"For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." 1 Corinthians 1:18 "And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me." Luke 9:23 For any Christians who have never studied the actual process of a Roman crucifixion, you really ought to. It's one thing to die a quick and painless death for someone you love, but what Jesus VOLUNTARILY chose to endure for sinners such as us is absolutely breathtaking in both the most horrifying and most beautiful ways possible. No one else has ever or will ever love me like He does, and my plain, wooden cross necklace is a daily reminder of that love. ❤️✝️

THE WORD OF THE CROSS, not image. = Jesus died for our sins and whosoever... Take up cross = ignore your own desires for Christ's desire. We know its not referring to a physical cross because 1. Jesus was alive when he spoke it 2. His disciples were ALREADY following him when he said it. Dear friend, the holy spirit shall bring all things to your remembrance, not a necklace. John 14:26 Your reasons for wearing a cross are your reasons alone and I wont fault you for it but I will make you aware of Gods word says about the things you wrote.

I wear a cross. It reminds me of who I belong to. One evening while I was out with friends, someone was using God's name as a cuss or exclamation in conversation. He quickly turned and apologised after someone caught his attention and shook their head at him, pointing at me and then their neck. They were signalling to him that I was Christian. I told him I didn't need an apology but God did because it was HIS name. I wear it always.

Amen! I’ve worn my great-grandmothers tiny, simple gold cross since my Communion. I never took it off. It was a reminder of my faith; it showed the world I am a follower of Jesus, and I want to love and live as he did. I have passed this family cross to my own daughter now. Our generational faith continues, and the cross reminds us off Jesus’ great and intentional sacrifice for us! My husband and I went and picked out a delicate diamond and gold cross for me. I wear it every day. ✝️

I was crying to the lord, before this video. I was crying for the people I love, and for the people of this world. And I was crying for my soul, because it's been lost and scared every step of the way. I came to this video with this question " Can a Christian wear a cross without being mistaken for it being another reason?" and suddenly I realized that was my fear that was plaguing my faith to God. I feel that its wonderful you made this video with heart and meaning. keep it up whenever you feel like it! Your message was so powerful to the point my question seemed to be meaningless in the value that you have reminded us of.

Thank you brother, great video. I am Orthodox. It is a tradition in the church to wear the cross. In fact,, many receive one upon baptism. There are two schools of thought on the wearing of it. The traditional one is that Christ stated that if we want to be his disciples, we are to pick up our cross and follow Him. As it is not jewelry, according to this tradition you wear it beneath your clothing to remind yourself that you bear the cross of Christ. The other belief is that one wears it publicly to compel others to ask you about it. Thank uou again.

I just finished watching this one before going to bed. I don't know if you have ever heard of this but a new pastor that has been assigned as senior pastor over the church where I am a member told me and then in front of the entire congregation said, I have nothing against you wearing a cross around your neck, I want you to know that you are no better a Christian by doing that. He has never worn a cross, to my knowledge. I noticed that many members stopped wearing their crosses.I have prayed about it. Recently, I have quit attending that particular one because of a joke that he stood up and told everyone about Jesus's mother and Martha. It was vile and hurt my heart so much that I couldn't return. My mother who was born a Jew and at the age of 36, accepted Jesus Christ as Saviour, giving her heart to Him. She taught me and my siblings much from God's Word. She loved Jesus Christ more than anyone else ever! I feel that same love. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with everyone. In Christ Jesus I Am, Nancy S Ollie

Apart from the pagan ties, the cross is a religious symbol and according to the Bible, God cautioned his people against forming signs and figures with which to honor him by in 1 Corinthians 10:14. They were instead directed to carry their faith in their hands according to Deuteronomy 6:8. He also forbids the prideful adornment of shiny ornaments with the intent to garner attention and to be admired in 1Peter 3:3.

“Neglecting the commandment of God, you hold to the tradition of men.” He was also saying to them, “You are experts at setting aside the commandment of God in order to keep your tradition.” Mark 7:8-9 “ You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth.” Exodus 20:4 The Christian says, “But, Jesus knows what’s in my heart by wearing a cross.” - God says, “The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; who can understand it?” Jeremiah 17:9 Even satanic rock stars and Hollywood elites wear crosses. It’s NOT about the cross, but He who was nailed to it. It’s NOT even about the resurrection, but He who defeated death. The Romans began this worship of the cross in the 5th century. “Come out of her My people!” If you would be obedient to Torah as Yeshua, His disciples, and Paul were, this would be obvious. Do not follow man-made traditions, whether by rabbinic oral laws or Roman edicts.

We don't worship the cross, we wear it because it represents the sacrifice that Yeshuah made for us. It represents his victory over death. And it represents our commitment to make our own daily sacrifices in putting away our sinful nature and walking the narrow path of righteousness with Yeshauh.
@TempleoftheSon3 жыл бұрын
Was the serpent of brass that Moses hung up that foreshadowed the crucifixion of Yeshauh an idol? (Numbers 21)
@scottintexas3 жыл бұрын
It’s quite simple, unless you’re stuck on traditions. “You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth.” Exodus 20:4 “Worship at the cross” at your own risk. Idols like crosses only dilute that it’s only about Him.

The best way to honor the Lord is to make a statement with your behavior. Talk (and symbolism) are cheap. Pray...fast...read your Bible and submit to the Lord...that is the statement we all need to make...not jewelry around our necks (or elsewhere) that pagans also wear...and that was introduced to out faith via mithraism

Some years ago I was wearing a cross necklace. I have several cross items and jewelry. I wear them on occasion, And when I do I feel closer to Jesus, to God. On this particular day I was at work with my necklace on. A very nice lady that I consider a friend looked at me and boldly asked. “Why do you wear a cross, I don’t understand.” I told her it made me feel closer to Jesus and reminds of why he died for us.” Her religion would have not permitted this, she was Jahova Witness belief. She went on to say that if you had a loved one die at the hand of a gun would you wear a gun around your neck. Being much younger than I am now, I did not reply to her. Later I was thinking I should have said, I would never ridicule you for your beliefs and Jesus did die for us, so we can have everlasting life. I wear this symbol because I believe. We remained friends and I never held this against her. I prayed for her understanding as well as mine. I still wear my cross jewelry. What she said that day only made me delve deeper and try to understand it more. You my friend have explained this so well. I will always remember what you have said here, and continue to keep and wear the cross as a symbol of his great Love. Thank You for all of your wonderful videos.

A few years ago, I hung a cross by my door that look like it was made of two spikes...similar to the ones that held Christ to the cross. As I stood outside on my porch one day, three men stood about 50 feet from me, looking at me with a sinister look. I was just about to race inside, and lock my door, when one of them pointed to the cross. All 3 then stared at it like it held some force they were afraid of, then rushed away.
