Today we're going to talk about the New Honda ADV350 scooter and whether or not American Honda should it to the USA for their 2023 scooter model lineup and more! What kind of price tag would you pay for a larger scooter than can do highway speeds? Will it be another sales flop in the USA like the Silverwing 600, Forza 300 etc? Honda doesn't make an adventure or dual-sport motorcycle with a super low seat height and people that may be interested in a CRF300L or CRF300 Rally, Africa Twin, XR650L, NC750X etc but can't touch the ground have no other options to choose from unless they jump down to the CT125 / Trail 125 or Grom and Monkey but then they'd be stuck going a lot slower with their 125cc engines. But, let's talk about all of that and more down in the comments...

Honda needs to do a better job educating the public, they need to greatly expand their advertising for this style of bike. Go back to what established the Honda brand in the US, 'You meet the nicest people on a Honda'. Remind America there's more to motorcycling than dirt bikes and Harleys.

I like your thinking there! In general, I think more and more people are coming around to the fact that it's not about looking "cool" for others but more so enjoying yourself and having fun on 2-wheels. Who cares if people don't think you're "cool" because you're on a scooter etc. I can't tell you how many people over the years that told me they'd like to buy this or that model but won't, because of other people's opinions.

@@HondaProKevin I've observed sometimes that certain individuals will wear on their sleeves the grand amount they claim to be free, or how much freedom they claim to have state/country/town they live in, will also sometimes exhibit a duality of having nearly all of the choices they make be dictated on how someone might think about them if they did 'x' activity, wore 'y' clothing, or drove/rode 'z' vehicle. If the choices you make are a direct result of what other people's opinions will be about you, and not your own wants, desires and happiness, are you ever truly "free"?

You are 100% right, Justin! I rode my ADV150 on fairly challenging dirt paths and it does GREAT. It feels HALF as heavy as it really is. It gives loads of confidence because you know it's easy to get a foot down, or to pick up by yourself. The 350 is about 100 pounds heavier than the 150, but I'm confident the low center of gravity will make it feel similar. I would happily explore places on the 150 I'd be afraid to travel alone on a tall, top-heavy dual-sport!

I fully support the introduction of a step up adventure scooter in this displacement category into North America ! I have been eyeing up the 150 for quite some time ; however , in reality what I need is a highway friendly machine that can carry all my 6 foot 2 inches of steel and sexappeal comfortably and with a degree of efficiency ! This ADV 350 from Honda , looks like it might do the job and with a lot of fun ! Please keep up the great work ! 🇨🇦🤗🇺🇸

I also honestly believe that if more people were to take some of these higher CC scooters for a test ride (150cc+) they would be instantly hooked. I'd trade in my XMAX in a heartbeat. A couple of years ago, I did look at the Forza, but it was not built for taller people, my knees were hitting the dash/fairing, not to mention the gymnastics I'd have to do to turn and not have the handlebars not hit my knees. I just did not fit. I'm 6'5, but I've also fit fine on several much smaller scoots. I am a tad afraid, though, that the ADV350 won't fit, either, as I've sat on the ADV150, and it too is tiny, feels like a toy.. I have to say, since I fit on a Honda Elite 50 several years ago, with zero issues, I wonder why they abandoned building scoots for anyone above 5'8. I love my XMAX, but the suspension is still rather lacking. As I said, as much as I enjoy my XMAX, It would be gone as soon as the ADV350 hits the US dealerships. For those you that doubt this would sell in the US, they say this would probably be a tad cheaper than an XMAX, and go ahead and try to find an XMAX, they're sold before most dealerships even take delivery. The ADV350 would definitely sell.

I’m curious, how tall are you? I’m a 5’11” woman & ride my 2022 ADV150 nearly every day without any issues as far as comfort. I’m DYING to get ahold of the 350, but I think Honda is gonna try to see how the ADV160 sells first before they market the 350 here, sadly..at least that’s my opinion lol I cannot stand the fact that I’m barely hitting 65mph, it drives me nuts!! Needless to say, I’ll more than likely trade in my 150 for the 160 in a year or two if we don’t hear any 350 news! And you’re right about availability. It took me 5wks to track down my 150 back in April. Every time I’d call a dealership, it had either already been sold, hadn’t gotten another one in yet, or they were asking way too much for it. The woes of trying to find a decently-priced and fairly-fast scooter are real 😆

You're not wrong there... This whole rona mess has really crippled them. It's wild walking into the largest Honda Powersports dealer on the planet every week and seeing less than 10ish new units on the floor when they used to keep upwards of 500+ new Hondas in stock at any given time. Dealers are beyond struggling and have been for quite some time now. It still bothers me every day that our dealership closed up at the start of 2021 but looking at things now, it would have been a real struggle to continue on with the way things are now. And to think people told me I was crazy halfway through 2020 when inventory levels started to get really bad, that we wouldn't see any sort of normalcy within the next 2 years and here we are - it's still a mess. Fingers crossed that things start to turn around soon, you can only survive so long when relying on your used inventory and parts / service departments to survive.

Costs issue. Plastic removal for service adds up. Cost of replacement plastic adds up. The navi parts are very very reasonable. Do the same on the big scottdrs. Charge less labor for plastic fender and .motor guards. Highlight the mobile phone, could it interface with the control panel? That is almost old tech by now. Go to 3 year 36000 miles on warrenty. Buy more if you want. Asian countries have lower buy in cost than U.S. , why the large gap. We have more disposib6 income but a lower price could be argued for. Increase accessories and /or help people buy from outside vendors, at least point in a good direction without any liability attached. Any scotter clubs would help drive miles on scotters. Honda can give up quick because of their huge product line. The first question is how bad Honda wants to work on it. How about heated grips and a plug in for heated suit? Has it been done before? Could Honda point out No dealer fee dealers like Southern Honda? How about shipping to homes, aka carvana?

Yes, please!!!! This 350cc would be ideal. I had a little 50cc that was great for getting around Seattle as always an option for small roads & my shorter stature. But I moved to a more rural area & found I needed at least 45mph to get more than 3 miles in any direction--last summer I found a Vespa 946 150cc that I LOVE, and can get me on the freeway when I can't avoid it, but is great on smaller twisty roads I'm exploring. But I am looking at options for more power so I don't lose speed on hills, and the ability for some light off-road since where I live now is so close to Olympic National Park & lots of logging/fire roads I'd love to explore. Have been looking at getting a bike & learning manual, but if I can find a scooter instead, hooray!!! Also I think because we only seem to get the smaller scooters, they aren't taken seriously... Or indeed $9k for a Vespa 300 is pushing my budget (I did get a deal for my 946 at that, but for a second bike, want to spend less). $5k-6k for a Honda 350 would be quite reasonable I think...

Honda please bring either ADV350 or Forza 350 to the US market. Time has changed. Fuel price is going through the roof, but people still need to commute 30~40 miles one way on the interstate daily because of the expensive housing in the central area. Maxi scooters will be the way forward for many commuters. Currently Yamaha has better options than Honda but would be great to see more competition in this market segment which is ever growing.

Their best shot might be new riders, who have no preconceived notions and just want a fun machine that’s easy to ride. But long wait times, high markups, and limited colors mean that the whole market - regardless of make or model - really has no business experimenting with something new. They have to crack the supply issues, and get their dealers under control. (That goes for Honda cars, too.)

I'd love to spend $6k on an ADV350 but realistically I don't see it happening. Honda is smart enough to know they wont be able to sell mid-size or large scoots in the States at the same profit they can in Europe or Asia unless there'ssome real shift in buying trends. The perception is scooters are cheap and for girls, and even girls here don't want to buy things that are for girls. So what do do? Well put scooters in movies for one. Stupid? Not so much, car companies do it all the time. Product placement works and is extremely effective to mold the image of a product and how it should be used. They even but a Jeep Renegade in Batman and had a Dawn of Justice appearance package 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Point is, they need to adjust the perception of the American market, which is by far the largest unrealized market for scooters on the planet. Sponsor builds for bike shows, advertise, something.

Kevin, The 350 would be a welcome addition to the commuter and the older riders, but what I think would sell better in the US would the 750 ADV which would do all that the 350 would do and also lend itself to touring all those US highways. We like our horsepower in the US and the 750 hits the sweet spot. I don't think it would compete head to head with the NC750X or the new Transalp both of which are more oriented and targeted toward the younger adventure and off-road rider. I'd buy the 750 ADV in a heartbeat.

I'd hands down but an adv 350 for $7000. My PCX 150 was upgraded to run 73mph but that was downhill or flat ground at WOT. It creates a lot more wear running at those speeds. I'm waiting for an old Forza 300 to come up at the right price. Having ridden both the Forza 300 runs way stronger than the PCX. My only issue with the Forza is lack of knee room for tall people. The reflex is a better fit. Hopefully they bring the adv160, I'm not holding my breath for the adv350. I feel American Honda doesn't care about it's customers. I had 2 warranty claims on my CRF300L Rally and both times they were declined. If American Honda is reading this, please bring the ADV160, 350 and the X-ADV.

I would love to see this scooter in the US and more than just 1 per dealer (PCX 150). I would probably pay upwards of 8K considering what you're getting. I'd like something a little beefier than the 150 and I think this would be perfect.

If they made the seat heights lower, they would get a lot more riders. There are a lot of shorter riders that are tired of their only options being cruiser style motorcycles.

I'd buy one & I know many people who buy one.If only the OTD price no more than $8,000. Maybe the added shipping, setup all the extra charge's will can NOT push the price up to $9000 or more!!!!! Just bought a 2022 PCX should have enough money for a 350adv or Forza in a year or two

If you don’t mind me asking, why did you choose the PCX over the ADV 150? I’m looking to get something bigger than my Honda Ruckus. I like both the ADV 150 and PCX, but I am also checking out the Yamaha XMax 300.

@@jarekallin The PCX was the only Scooter Available between the two & also the price of the Pcx is less. Also the Pcx I believe gets a little better MPG & Pcx is a little Faster. This is only my Opinion. Facts might be different...

I never understood why a company wouldn't want to sell every model it makes anywhere people want to buy. Seems strange to me. You can barely get the stuff Honda does sell. I had to drive almost three hundred miles to find an adv 150 last year. It's almost perfect 350 would be the sweet spot for me...I'd buy one for sure.

I have found myself newly in the market for a scooter after a chronic injury is leaving me unable to shift the gears on a real motorcycle. I was super excited to find out about the ADV350 but now am equally bummed in realizing it isn't available in the US. $6500 does make me cringe a bit, esp when considering you can get a Yamaha Xmax for less than $6k. Then again if directly comparing the 2, I would be lying to say the added suspension quality and more adventurous nature of the ADV doesn't sound more enticing. Depending on price, I definitely would love to acquire an ADV 350. Also, when considering the larger market outside of my own personal wants, everyone knows that a major hindrance for a lot of people getting into motorcycles is the manual transmission aspect. If you look outside of the standard die hard moto enthusiast market I would think that a smaller displacement automatic transmission bike would be a huge seller for beginner riders or anyone too intimated to learn how to ride a real motorcycle. Could be a good way for Honda to bridge that gap in style, which would ultimately increase sales across the board over time as two wheeled vehicles become more approachable for more people. Come on Honda!! 😂

Yeah, I think Honda is missing out on the mid-size scooter sales. They need something that will give PCX riders a "move up" bike, and for those who want a highway capable scoot like Yamaha's Xmax. The previous model Forza didn't sell well in the US because it was heavier than the PCX, but not as roomy. It was an older design (predated the PCX in Asia). I thought the Forza 350 fixed all those issues, but Honda didn't see that for the US, giving all those mid-size scooter sales to the Xmax and the Vespa GTS. The time is right for Honda to bring the Forza 350 and/or the ADV 350 to the US.

I have the adv 150 and I absolutely love it but I do wish that I could feel comfortable taking it on the expressway but since average traffic flow on the expressway is around 80 mph there is no way I’m doing 60 on it and feeling safe as cars and trucks and Big Macs fly past me going 20-30 mph faster. That being said if the 350 was available in the US I’d trade my 150 in in the proverbial heartbeat. As is I am currently eyeing the 750 dct (although I much prefer having my rear brake on my handlebars over my foot peg any day of the week) as an option. Yes I get it the motorcycle blah blah blah clutch control Yada yada yada. Im not looking to pop wheelies climb dirt hills or race of the line. I did that 20 years ago on my ninja. Im 53 and simply want a ride that is comfortable on cruises and Maybe the occasional dirt road or light off road path. I just want to twist and go and keep up with traffic. Scooter over a motorcycle any day of the week for me …. And I’m willing to bet many other riders. Will it surpass Honda rebel sales, nope, but their is a market for them

I have been riding a PCX 150 for 5 years and Piaggio 500 for 3 because there is nothing available in between. I would buy the The Forza 360 or the ADV 350 if they came to the US. It's huge gap that needs to be filled and the bikes are available so just need to get them here. I commute by scooter almost exclusively in the Summer at around town and Interstate speeds so the Honda mid sizers would be so nice I would only need one. Honda needs to listen up and get them to the States

I got 2 2022 Groms for my sons and I. It’s his first bike. And our first big deal doing something together. He’s already talking about a second bike and what he would want out of it. From what he’s told me an ADV350 would be perfect. I love the ADV150 but it’s just to small and to slow for any kind of light touring we would do. If this bike comes I would reserve 2 of them as soon as I possibly can. Honda, guys like me would greatly appreciate the ADV350 coming here.

The market here is changing somewhat and there’s more than enough people who would buy one unless they do something incredibly stupid like Kawasaki with the overpriced W800. Brilliant bike but way overpriced. 6499.00 for this would be an attractive price but if the push it over 7k who’s fault is it if they don’t sell when they are cheaper overseas

I rode a Suzuki Burgman 400 for a few years. That scooter was great! It was fast, and got up to 90 mph on the highway rather quickly and it had storage space. Thing was, I did feel as if it got no respect for being a scooter. Then I went to Europe and saw and spoke to a few guys riding the Honda ADV 350. For scooting around town, running errands a scooter makes more sense than a bike. Easier to get on with the step through, loads of storage space for carrying some groceries. If Honda brought the ADV 350 to the USA, I would definiotely get one if they priced it at a decent price.

Yes... they should bring it here. I have the ADV150 and like it a lot, but I wouldn't feel comfortable at highway speeds, which around here are 60 mph with people routinely exceeding that. The ADV150 can do 60 on a good day with a tailwind. An ADV350 would be just what I would want to replace the ADV150 with. I like the easy to get on / off and the adjustable windscreen is great. Yes please.

Honda, if you are listening, you NEED to bring the ADV 350 to the US. US has the open road and Americans has the appetite for speed. Your trail 125, Super Cub, and Grom are great bikes but not fast enough for freeways. The 300cc and above sector has been eaten up by the Burgman 400 and XMAX 300. Please, bring it here and I guarantee you it will sell like hotcakes. Most people want Honda over anything else but 125/150cc are just not it. If you are displeased on previous sales figures, remember the world is different now. People want scooters more than ever with rising gas prices and supply.

Scooters just don’t sell as well in the US like they do in European and Asian markets. But the demand for automatic transmissions are at an all time high in the US as many people are getting on two wheels. Honda would be smarter to introduce smaller cc motorcycles that offer DCT’s.

I would like to see the Forza 350 come to the US. It looks so much better than the old Forza and better performance, too. I would get the ADV350 if it were offered, but pay no more than the Piaggio BV400. I need the step through in a scooter and would like the bigger engine so I could ride it on a trip from Nashville to my son's house in Ashville, NC. With the gas prices the way they are, it makes so much good sense to ride something that has good gas mileage without using premium. Scooters today would make better sense than driving a car or a truck. Listen up, Honda!

As a newcomer to scooter riding in the last few years, I've thoroughly enjoyed the thrill of 2 up riding at Americade on my Burgman 650, capable of easily cruising at 85mph on the Northway as well as hard hitting curves in the mountains. But, it also weighs 620lbs and is quite a formidable machine. My 2020 Honda PCX 150 is a wonderful fun, fuel efficient errand runner that I plan on setting up for some long distance rides. Since the ADV 150 is so similar to my PCX, I'm not even interested in it. If I want to ride off road, my very capable KLR 650 is my first choice., though it's quite tall and carbureted. I'm still considering the CFR 300cc Dual Sport , though I much prefer the all around usability of a 350 ADV in the future. Price wise, anything under $7000 and bring back 0% Honda FInance for 2-3 years instead of 12 months only!
