Wow! Loved the boat stories-especially the woman at the beginning. Kind of sad to see she was selling it. End of an era sort of thing. My principal's husband was a professor at GA Tech and was incredibly handy and artistic and he handmade a couple of wooden kayaks so that one in the video brought back a memory. He also built a boat (I never saw the finished product) that he intended to sail from Miami to a home they have in the Bahamas. I don't know if it ever happened but like these folks, so many interesting stories!

Oh that’s cool. Yeah I’ve threatened to build a wooden kayak myself so many times. I just want it to be light though!! Maybe is use paulownia or something like that but not only does that take time and space to do, it also takes money for the wood! And lord knows we have enough projects on our hands! Hahaha

I’ve been watching since the start and I enjoy the content. Feel like you guys are similar to my wife and I as we live on a Pearson 40 full time. Currently we are saving money for a trawler as we don’t ever plan on land living again. I live on the Chesapeake Bay but when the time comes may need help finding that right boat. We love classic yachts with a lot of wood. Keep making content and hopefully in a bit you can help me find or sale a boat.

Sure thing! Just get in touch when you’re ready! And yes, we saw all the time how we’d love to have a trawler but fuel!!! The sailboat is better for traveling. Neither of us are die-hard sailors, and we have both worked a lot of power boat types (I’ve worked sail also), so even though for travel, sail is the best choice, for bouncing around Florida, I would absolutely want my woodsy trawler too! Hahaha

Very good show. Loved the boats and cars. Apalachicola is a beautiful place my girlfriend and I stop there and eat pizza after a day at Mexico Beach, then head north to the corner of Ga. Please make more shows like this one while your home. Great down to earth Florida folks.

Siren, I loved watching you and Hal find your boat NZ work your way around the Fl coast. I am not sure yet if how much I like the interim vlogs yet, and will reserve full opinion until a few more have been released. One thing for sure is your film and editing quality has been reaching new levels of quality almost weekly, regardless of content. We live here on the panhandle in Walton County and enjoy your hometown very much when we can. I first saw you 5 years ago in your “assistant”role and we had started “touring” the country in our class A. You’re so much better in the “lead” role.

Good morning y'all! I was your 1st view on this one! I heard that boat and car show was pretty awesome. My buddy Steve called and asked me to drive his big block 4 speed Camaro to the show and back for him. He had left knee surgery the week before and wasn't "hip" on workin' a stiff clutch pedal at the time. Lol... Woulda been fun I know but I ended up being laid up with a cold or flu that weekend. Still kinda bummed about it!!! Hope youins have a good week! 👍

Lady Bug,I thought this was a sailing video. I also have an Apalach tale to tell. I am now living in Tallahassee, but a Sarasota County Native. Gramps down in 1872 , I found a 1964 16 foot FG Cuddy Sloop built in Nova Scotia. Found her in Madison Co. and me and a guy from the Virgin Islands restored her and we won First in Class at the Apalach Boat show.. must not have been the year of your video, as I didn't she her. Thank you very much for showing us the classic boat show. I always want to tell you that it is preferable to publish on Friday afternoons instead of Sunday, the ratio of people who find time during the weekend is greater than that of Sunday alone. And during the week we are slaves to work and time. That nonsense would increase your views and coins
@TheSirensLog
@TheSirensLog 5 ай бұрын
Thanks! It actually varies from account to account and we spent the early days with this account (before KZbin could log all of the analytics) trying different days and we have been Friday and Saturday posters before, but Sunday is the day our viewers are most active so we post early on Sunday mornings to get the ball rolling faster, and we started seeing growth. I agree there are many opinions on the internet based on “studies”, but all of those studies show different results, and I think the bottom line is to just know your own analytics. Of course, the other part of that is- As an account grows, those analytics can change as there’s an influx is new subscribers, potentially with new habits, so I’m always monitoring that to make sure we’re still good with Sundays. If I ever start to see numbers shift toward a different day, we may change it.

I had a motor yacht but fuel killed me along with I didn’t have enough knowledge because trawlers are complicated. Currently the wife and I have sailboat to go to Florida and Islands. We are saving for the right Trawler style boat to come along no rush. The sailboat boat is just to hard to board and just imagine when we are a few years older I’m 46 and can be hard.
@TheSirensLog
@TheSirensLog 5 ай бұрын
Yeah, both can be hard! It doesn’t matter if it’s a brand new boat, things always go wrong, things are always breaking, and you have to be able to handle those things in an emergency, and even if you’re at the dock, if you don’t know how to fix a lot of this stuff, it can be very expensive! I’m lucky to have hal because I’m not great with the mechanical end. Luckily, we both know boats and both have a lot of experience in maintaining them, and that’s a huge asset to all of it. I couldn’t imagine owning the boat that we do, and having little knowledge about it. It would be too much. So I don’t blame you for feeling that way, even if you do have knowledge and skill, I feel like if I was nearing older age, I wouldn’t want to have to do as much work on the boat. Low maintenance is key, and a lot of people buy trawlers as they age, you’re right, they are so much easier in many ways. Good luck with it all! let us know how it goes!

I cant believe you're from Apalachicola! My family is from Port St Joe. and PCB. I spent almost every summer growing up either on Cap San Blas or Mexico Beach. My wife and I got married on St George Island. We are actually coming back to Apalachicola this August for scalloping season and to do some diving.

@TheSirensLog 5 ай бұрын
Hey! Thank you! I’m not totally sure about Sweet Pea. I would like to get in touch with the owner and potentially do a video with him about his boats, though. He owns our local maritime museum. There is a sweet pea model boat, but to my knowledge, this is a bit different. Maybe not, it could be a different version. Here’s the link to the listing! Getting ready to do another little price drop on her. www.yachtworld.com/yacht/1972-webbers-cove-downeast-9297429/

Great video and it’s a shame that some people just have to complain in the comments section. Makes you wonder why the suicide rates weren’t higher when commercials were unavoidable on television back in the day. Jeeze! And if anyone gets offended by my statement, enjoy your day sir. I stand by my statement and will not argue with anyone who doesn’t agree. It’s a waste of time for everyone. Just don’t like it and move on. Talk about the positives for a change. My 6 year old doesn’t complain as much as some adults do about trivial matters… Rant over. When are y’all gonna head back home to work on the boat? I’ve got two helpers waiting to get going!

@@SVEXCALIBUR Well Im sorry I can’t help that you have an interest in certain boats and not others. That comes down to personal taste. The listing is a classic boat itself, just a few blocks away from the boat show and the owner had more than one classic boat. Not everyone is going to like every single thing that we post and I can’t control that.
@SVEXCALIBUR
@SVEXCALIBUR 5 ай бұрын
The listing may have been a classic boat but letting the owner just show off the amenities did not distinguish itself as a classic like the boats at the show where the owners explained the history or construction. I’m sorry if you’re taking offense, I love your episodes, this one in its entirety fell short of my expectations and the quality you have put forth before.

Well, I loved this while episode quite a bit. For some of us we do t get to see those types of boats and I loved all of them. Her listing is a cool boat and when I saw it I just wanted to go rent a mooring and live on it instead of a camper. Her filming and editing are getting better all the time and she has a very unique interesting channel. Don’t change a damn thing Siren.
