Some trivia here. The DB that you see on Aston Martins stands for "David Brown" a manufacturer in the UK that made heavy equipment components and gearboxes. DB purchased Aston Martin, Lagonda and coachbuilder Tickford in the 1950s for a combined total of less than $100,000. They got into financial difficulty and in 1972 sold Aston Martin for a nominal $200. (not a typo, actually sold it for about $200). I did a bit of research on David Brown when my Father purchased a David Brown tractor recently and wanted to know more about it(he collects old tractors and equipment). David Brown, Ltd, is still in business in the UK.

Yes yes yes! I love that car (my only wishes would be that the hood vents had louvres instead of mesh and its ass wouldn't have this monobrow). Though... the car I love the most is the Vanquish S Volante... just that dash/interior was starting to feel rather outdated (same issue I have with the Maseratis). I can only imagine a DBS Volante would be the absolute dream! Ticks all the boxes, no? V12, rumble, 2+2, convertible, classy yet sporty, grand tourer... just the best. I love this much more than the DB11 and new Vantage. It's forward thinking, designing and engineering, but still very Aston Martin.

Absolutely no question, you should get one. This car is one of my absolute favourite Aston's so far, it's "Aston"-ishing design is something you don't see very often. The sound is absolutely amazing and probably one of the best sounding V12 Engines of all time. If the garage still supports it you should absolutely go for it. Also please do the 812 Superfast and DBS Superleggera Comparison, would love to see that! I have an Aston Dealership really close nearby so when I get the chance to I'll definetely hop in one and take it for a spin if they let me. And if not I'm just gonna stare at it for an hour. The DBS superlegerra is truly a great car and with a V12 rarely seen in these days it surely is enticing. This is the perfect gran tourer as it ticks all the boxes. Should be a perfect FF replacement as the gran tourer and could take it's role except the four seats which would be missed. Amazing video Shmee. Shquad!!!

I heard twin turbo V12 and had mixed emotions. I always like the fact Aston kept it N/A but then thought they need to keep up with everyone else. It sounds amazing none the less! At 1700kg's it's no lightweight.

Tim I’m not sure about all these new cars now, so much tech it’s getting boring and they seem designed to keep garages rich, especially on servicing, management lights etc. I drive an Audi R8 V10 and also a Lamborghini Murcielago, BUT I still think about my past fun cars like the TVR Tuscan S and the Cerbera 4.5 lightweight I used to own, stripped out, fast simple cars! They would still achieve fantastic 0-60 smoke burning fun without all the modern day computer crap!

Anyone else notice when he lifted the hood the headlights are exactly like the DB11. This makes if feel they lazily put a Zagato body kit over a DB11 and not to mention the near identical interior. For the price premium you should get something more special.

Thanks: Beautifully informative: If you can afford the depreciation and you can’t wait for the DBS Volante, go ahead - but please do drive it in London traffic and through width-restrictions to see how terrifyingly constricting the extra width is likely be, and then let us know? You will have already appreciated too just how hard it is to work out where (on this substantial well dressed brute) the bonnet ends and the corners are situated.
