*Sport. Glide.* From what I've seen it can do both distance AND around-town riding, plus you can take off the bags & fairing to keep the minimal look. The one con: the fairing does attach to the bars from what I've read so you'd feel the wind in the bars.

@dh23924 жыл бұрын
@@jeffshultz3883 For me personally I find the Road Glides to be great touring bikes. You have 2 fairly large storage pockets in the fairing, there are 2 vents in the fairing that open and close, and they make a huge difference in the amount of air reaching the rider extending your comfort range. I like the built in navigation, no mounting a phone or GPS, and I added the Sirius/XM module and use a DIN to 3.5 mm adapter and use Plugfones to listen to music. The earplugs on these do a great job of blocking wind noise so that I can actually listen and enjoy at low volume. And because the license plate sits so high up under the tour pack, I've never been charged a toll, as apparently the cameras can't capture my plate, saving me I don't know how much money over the years. And I've made sure not to put any transponder pass on the bike.

I had the same dilemma. I ended up going with the black road glide special and I don’t regret the decision one bit. I really liked the way the RG looked from off the bike, but wasn’t thrilled with the way it looked from the seat. Good news is that big fairing gets smaller the more you ride. It’s low so most of the time you’re looking right past it. That is however a drawback (compared to the bat wing) when the rain hits. It’s super comfortable for 300+ mile rides and surprisingly fun to get aggressive with in the twistes. You have to have some balls in the beginning, but once you see that it’s totally capable, it’s a lot of fun! It is a little overkill for short trips around town, so I might pick up a cheap used twin cam dyna for that. Other options you could consider would be a roadking special with a set of T bars and detachable windshield (reckless even makes the rock hoodz stereo for it) or a coast glide type build. Would be cool to see you do one with the low rider sport! Hope this was helpful. Good luck!

I made a video about it but long story short, I went from a MC being a backup to my main transportation over this last winter and upgrading to a bagger was a HUGE upgrade overall. It may feel like a lot of bike when stopped but once you're going it is amazing. Within 3 months of owning it I had to go on a huge ride for a funeral (1660 miles in 48 hours) and I will say, on my old Softail I'd have been dead by the end, on the Street Glide I was exhausted but was able to be back on the bike to head to work the next day after I'd returned. I honestly don't know if I could ever go back unless it was for something for short rides or around town errands, but even then I really love my Street Glide.

Yup. The fairing kills it for me. Especially the road glides fairing. Road king all the way.

Went a picked up a 19 RGS a month and a half ago. Went to the Bring it home parade from Georgia. I've already got over 4600 miles on it. Love my RGS

All I can say is I love my 2017 Electriglide limited. We ride distance a lot. A short ride for our group is 200 miles. Plenty of room for rain gear cooler etc. Still potential for accessories. You have the low rider for your short rides. But in the end, but what makes you happy.

Having had a bike with a heel shift...I loved the heel shift. I initially hated it, but once I got used to it, I loved it.

For you. A Road King Special. Same color and blacked out. Same bike no faring. For me a Road Glide special.😎🤘

I finally broke down in '18 and bought a Road Glide. Should have done it 10 years ago. You'd love it if you decide to go that way!!

I went from a Dyna to a Road King Special with a wind splitter screen. I love it!!! Doesn't hurt to test ride that, if you don't care about nav or a on-board radio.

Everything you say about it being a big bike and you don't know if you are ready for it or want it, is exactly what I was saying before I traded my Softail Slim for a Street Glide and I now have my FOREVER BIKE. Baggers are fantastic and you can do a lot to them to customize to your liking !!! Aloha from the middle of the Pacific Ocean

Definitely good problem to have. Think of it as the next challenge. Meets your need for commute, and lots of content to design your own bagger how you want it. You still have your original for your more local rides.
