I agree with some of the below statements. Had my pool automation system installed with the pool. It's been eight years since install. The average diyer can't replace any broken piece/valve/board/relay without knowing how to program said piece. I have had to replace numerous pieces with and without success. You must replace with original part which is out of date technology. You really need to leave it to the pros and pros aren't cheap.

I am trying to decide between Jandy iAqualink 3.0 and Pentair Easy Touch system. Which is better and why?

Mako! What's up friend! The panel is included in all of our projects, which has the scheduling capabilities. The wifi connectivity is an available upgrade. Hope all is well. Thanks for watching!

If it can't manage chemicals, it seems pointless.

You Actually can with the Pentair IntelliChem system. It will measure and dose acid for PH and control Chlorine or it will control your salt cell if you have one. Pretty sweet set up. Check it out.

definitely should be avoided. very hard to learn, don't use all the features, and when they break (and they do because you're putting electronics outdoors) they cost a fortune to repair. Our main board had to be replaced 2 times in 10 years which ends up doubling the cost of the original purchase.

Don’t avoid it. Just make your own. My system rivals an Intellicenter for $600. With access from anywhere in the world and Alexa in the house. The single most expensive component cost was the case at $99. Relay blows? Replace it from amazon for $15. Be there in two days. I’d never buy one of these packaged systems but automation is super convenient.

It adds an unnecessary level of complexity for the average pool owner.
