I just clocked 400 miles on my K30s and they're bulletproof for foot stability. Your foot is securely cradled for the entire step.

Agree, I have also put 400+ miles on this shoe and then immediately ordered another pair lol. Loving the peace of mind and freedom from my old PTT issues.

The Glycerin 21 GTS is a fabulous shoe for easy miles. Absolutely love the cushioning.

I tried the Kayano 30 in the shop, and I didn't like them at all, because they are too stiff, besides being too loose with the foot in the heel area. While with the Brooks Glycerine GTS 20, I immediately found the right feedback I was looking for. In fact, I immediately bought another pair. Thanks to the discounted price they had.Maybe later I'll even take the 21.

I tried on both but stuck with Brooks. The ASICS had the perfect heel and mid foot fit but my little toe was getting pinched. The brooks has gotten narrower in the mid foot so I went up to a wide and it fit great

Thanks for this comparison! The Kayano 30 just dropped in price to $120.

Why didn’t you compare the ASICS to the GTS 23?
@Chungdol4 ай бұрын
Cant agree on that, the glycerine feels way way waaaaaaaaay softer for me than the K30, it feels like lifeless firm brick... the insole is what makes the shoe "soft".
@Echom4-kr5el7 ай бұрын
I’d love to know if the glycerin has a post because the 20s had no arch support. The kayano 30s are solid.

Sorry for the off topic question, but I want to post a question to anybody who races 5K/10K in the original Metaspeed Edge how to run in this shoe to get the best out of it. David wrote something about landing forefoot to midfoot and landing hard to get the most of this platform...

I got the GTS 21 and the cushion is great, but sometimes I feel like my foot is going to sink in, meaning the cushion is great all around the sole but not so much in the middle of the shoe. If that make sense.

Anything comparable to the Glycerin GTS 21 you'd recommend? Tried the Kayano 30 and didn't work for me. Love the Glycerin GTS 21 and looking for another to add to the rotation.

Potentially Mizuno Horizon 7. The Saucony Hurricane series is returning, so there may be an option there!

For what it’s worth, the Kayano 30 did not work for me either. It was too much shoe for my 5 foot five frame, and I’m only using it for walking. I downsized to the smaller Asics GT 2000 12 with milder 3D stability and absolutely love it for comfort and stability. I think it’s comparable to Brooks Glycerin gts 21 as a mild stability shoe, both with stiff heal counters. Although the Asics is 8 mm vs 10 mm drop, may have more responsive foam, a bit lighter, and a gusset tongue. I am going to order the Brooks so I can switch off and compare more thoroughly. Hope this helps you out!

I have always been a Mizuno customer, but they have the big problem of fast consumption of the padding in the heel area. Therefore, I had to switch to Brooks which does not give me this annoying problem.

I use medium semi-rigid arch support in my running shoes. Wonder if the GTS from the Glycerin 21 needs this orthotic or if I will be ok without ?
@R.Es15 ай бұрын
Awesome info. Thank you for taking your time to do it. Quick question, currently I'm running in the Brooks adrenaline gts 14. They've been good. But was looking for a shoe with a little less aggressive arch support... would either one of these 2 that you reviewed have "less aggressive" arch support or will they be the same as the brooks Adrenaline gts 14? Thank you much.
@Echom4-kr5el5 ай бұрын
They both would. I have the kayano 30 and they’re very comfortable and stable.

I'm looking to upgrade from the regular Glycerin 9, so a very old shoe. If I have overpronation with flat feet, and a need for a custom orthotic on my right foot, and a mild case of cerebral palsy that effects my left side, would the kayano 30 or the glycerin GTS be a better fit? Or, would the Adrenaline GTS be a better 1:1 here?
@DoctorsofRunning6 ай бұрын
We recommend not using an orthotic with a stability shoe as it can overcorrect you. The Brooks Ghost Max could be a good option (a lot of room for an orthotic) or upgrading to the latest Glycerin.
