I prepaid for my simple cremation 3 yeasrs ago. It was $1143, all it includes is picking me up, burning me up, filing a death certificate, handing my ashes over to preselected friends to scatter in the desert. So stupid to spend all that money to put a person in the ground that will be forgotten anyways. But everyone has different needs and wants. I totally understand that. I also believe it is selfish not to preplan your arrangements. Why put all that expense and burden onto someone you love. Just my thoughts. Thank you

Wonderful information, thank you! May I mention that your loved one may be eligible for a Military Funeral if they served. When my father was dying he requested it as he was eligible having served many years ago. It is a beautiful Military Cemetery in Florida with the plot with marker provided and an Honor Guard with Taps and shoot a volley and folding of the flag given to me. Amazing send-off. I was responsible for the casket and funeral home services.

My dad is interrred at the Great Lakes Veteran's cemetery in Michigan. It's beautiful and everyone was very helpful. Well worth considering for Vets and their spouses.v

I made my arrangements and they are paid for I have seen family members not talk to each other. I was following Karri Northy on her you tube channel which was very helpful I bought the crypt. I bought the casket and paid for the funeral. I did get a discount for being in the military which was about 1000 off. Some places will discount your funeral expenses if you had brothers sister or parents that where in the military. If you know where you want to be buried check with the funeral home and cemetery. With this done I know that there will be no fighting.

My grandfather prepaid for his and left all the paperwork that showed exactly what he paid for and how everything was supposed to be done. It was followed to the letter and the family still got a bill for $15k for a pretty simple funeral with no frills. No prepay means paying twice in my opinion

I wonder if your loved one only covered the cemetery costs and not the actual funeral service? Many people are not aware that they are two separate costs. I didn’t know how any of this worked until I helped my Grandmother preplan her own final arrangements. It can get very costly and it all depends on your local market.

. i am not having a funeral .! . because i do not think it is necessary . a deceased person lives in the heart of the loved ones and a funeral is not necessary .

3/15/23...BEST ADVICE EVER! B/C funeral homes + others in the "funeral/dead body" business act like vultures when ppl are grieving + in mourning". SCIM.OF THE EARTHPPL WILL DEFINITELY "TAKE ADVANTAGE" IF YOU/YOUR LOVED ONES ARE NOT PREPARED.
@kherheb73 Жыл бұрын
That is simply not true as a standard. Most every funeral home is in business to help people. Only a very small portion are unethical vultures.

@@kherheb73 you mean to help you depart with your money. Guess that is where the saying "dearly departed" came from.
@kherheb73 Жыл бұрын
@@westsparks6844 No, that is not at all what I mean. Most Funeral Directors want people to prepay for their funeral expenses. They want the choices made about services to be pragmatic and not driven by emotions. They want to help these people. I say "most" because in any industry there are a few bad apples. But overall most of them what to help people.

Funeral directors are truly EVIL people. Their business is preying on those who have just lost loved ones. Scott Barton, it is clear you are in the funeral business, although I doubt you are honest enough to admit it. Funeral directors, and lawyers, are without question the lowest and most disgusting subhuman lifeform that exists!

Nobody gets out alive. My Sister in law and her husband have been doing the free lunch tour of pre planning. She is 82, and he is 91. All of the information is on the various companiy's websites. Why go to a group sales presentation? Pick you services, add up the costs, and choose. They were upset when 1 company only included 2 death certificates. In their county death certificates are only $20 each. hardly a deciding factor. I don't endorse using a relative as an executor. They may not want to do it, and may not be good at it. In my locale, a lawyer is the same cost. Disposal of the remains Clark? Poor wording.
