Yep! I always taught my little sister to be nice with employees and other shoppers and to be respectful with the testers. She loves makeup and skincare, I teach her what is good for her skin and what isn’t! She likes going in there and swatching a bit of makeup on her arms. Children shopping at Sephora is fine. The fact that they shop at Sephora isn’t the problem, the problem is when some children ruin the samples, make messes, and are disrespectful.
@justsomeonerandom67 ай бұрын
The problem is not only about respect. Ok they are respectful to employees and don’t make a mess but they buy products with active ingredients like retinol, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid etc, which will ruin their skin at such a young age and might cause future problems. Makeup might be fine (it’s still not because it is meant for adults not child’s play) but skincare especially products with these kind of active ingredients is a big no.

I agree. This skincare is intended for adults. Skincare companies shouldn’t have to reconsider their products for children. The simple skincare essentials that kids should have is sunscreen, moisturizer, lotion, and cleanser. There is no need for heavy serums packed with retinol. I personally that we absolutely should not ban kids from sephora at a certain age. Just because some kids are being disrespectful doesn’t mean we should target every child that walks into sephora. Yes, obviously some children are disrespectful at sephora, but I have seen 10-12 y/o in sephora being super kind and only looking at products that are okay for their skin, such as lip gloss/oil, non-active moisturizer, cleanser, and sunscreen. Here’s my idea: if a child is acting up and using unsafe products, they should first get a warning if they are using unsafe products, and if they are being rude tell them simply as you would a child that is being disrespectful, tell them they are being rude and give them a warning such as parent supervision, not being able to use testers, or employees not letting kids buy unsafe products at the register. Also, the parents are a problem too, they stand around and let their child act up. The parents should care more too. Thank you for reading if you made it here XOXO a respectful Sephora tween/teen (surprise)

There does NOT need to be an age limit for Sephora. As long as they’re being respectful to the employees and not making a mess, I don’t see the problem. Plus I am under 15 (i dont want to say my age) and I love makeup and skincare. I only get stuff that’s okay for my skin but what if the ten year olds with retinol in their hands are getting it as a gift for someone. It is not fair if some kids are ruining it for others just because they are crazy. Kids being into makeup and skincare is not a new thing. They could be doing much worse things. Please just leave these young girls alone and have adults talking about this not ruining it for respectful kids.
