"Not the best representation." Whut. You mean eating people and super strength isn't a normal part of any mental dissorder? Especially one that if destructive really only destroys yourself? No max I know you are lying, I know you are a superhuman. Even if you just have superpowers in dreams

They should’ve done a PSA on D. I. D. Before viewing the movie.

I have a good friend who also has DID, and he really likes the movie. Myself, I haven't seen it, and given what I've heard about it I have no interest in seeing yet another piece of media that stigmatizes our condition. I think, if the film is to remain up, it should carry a disclaimer that explains that the portrayal of a supernatural monster alter is not how DID works, and that most people with DID and other challenges are more likely to be the victims of violence than perpetrators. It's a tough call, but at least being honest about how it's hurtful and can damage people like us is the very least that can be done. As always, loved the video, glad to see you putting stuff out there!

Yah as someone who has Dissociative identity disorder, i was told about this movie, and warned maybe 'not to watch it'. And yet even though that alter was against it, it only awoke more curiosity in others to see what it was about. So then immediately watched it of course.lol. I think personally it does kind of fortify or build the stigma in one sense. And yes some is exaggerated, for instance even the full costume change that occurs in a lot of the switches, the very distinct changes and just generally mixing in quite extreme versions and examples. That's not to say that some people don't experience it to that extremity and some people do change each time i'm sure. Me personally and for others too I am sure it's much more fluid and not as obvious. I get that while it is based on d.i.d it is not a factual documentary or testament. I however saw a lot of extreme reaction to this, in the d.i.d community. To the point of people bullying people who disagreed and that was a pretty sad state of affairs to witness. At the end of the day, people will use inspiration for movies, and of course, mental health is a great muse for horror. Any horror fan knows that. Anyone who ever suffered [ which honestly, i believe most people do, mental health is a spectrum not something you have or you don't in my opinion, just like physical health. And also d.i.d isn't an illness as much as it is a disorder, a different way of the brain working under strain and duress. Working around to ensure the host, the mind, the body, survives. Lives. Carries on. So eh, it's a difficult one. I can relate to people who are butthurt because anytime i come out to someone as being d.i.d there is usually the ' oh like split?' And then, of course, I have to say - yes, except I don't kill people or eat them. Not usually anyway..... lol. And you can see often in peoples face the initial fear that is created by such media representations. It would be really cool to see more rounded representations in movies and media/tv etc People as a whole generally aren't super awesome about things they don't understand, and d.i.d is so underrepresented and researched, that it is often just waved away or pushed under a rug. And I mean I get it, it is hard to not understand something, and they are afraid. I was afraid too. But it is real. And it is relevant, sooo sooo relevant, Many people are abused and mistreated at young ages and resulting in this condition or many others.....that should be addressed. It should be understood the damage people do to children or each other. What life sentences they put on their victims. Abuse is another subject everyone would rather not deal hear about or deal with. It's thrown away, let's not talk about that. Shame, shame - SHAME. And like i don't think that's how it should be. That's what empowers the people who do it, they get away with it because it just is silenced. Or how important care is for people who went through war or disaster or illness, which is among other causes for d.i.d trauma. But getting back to the movie aspect, i still can't help but feel like well at least it does bring it to life, at least some of it is researched, some of it is positive. Some of it brings real questions to mind and it does shine a light on it like how is this possible? And that's not an unreasonable question. And just because it is hard for them to answer it doesn't mean they shouldn't research and support this condition and the people with it. I actually found the movies somewhat enjoyable, if I looked at them just as movies, i did find some parts triggering too of course, that's likely to happen if you watch something about a topic you deal with daily i think most will be triggered. And i can't help think maybe it's still good to get people talking about it.....but yes it's a shame it can't be a little more well rounded example of how it is. Overall, no.... i don't think it should be removed, and if it is , it's a bit of a joke because other material making subsets of people look bad is throughout netflix or other media's. It's a creative expression and a story.... if you start censoring that then i think you'd have to so much more. It's just.... a no to me. It's a couple of movies on a fictional story and comic book type characters.

Hi👋 Just come across this video. The whole split thing was a bit of an enigma 4 us. On 1 hand, we understand the frustration. Believe me, we get it - wen we told a friend about our d.i.d, due 2 her only seeing Split, she said "am I safe around u?" She'd known us over 15yrs! On the other hand, apart from the 'beast' crap, it's still pretty accurate n relatable. And, at the end of the day - it's a movie. So, I'm neither here nor there. If it gets took down, we won't lose sleep over it. I agree with u - put a disclaimer at the beginning n state its not an accurate representation of this disorder. Great vid. Gonna binge watch the rest of ur channel. Much love. Sam.👍💞🤗

I haven't seen it, but based on what I've heard, people don't like that it mixes real information with an exaggerated/unreal representation,... but it's a movie, not a documentary, so of course it's not a real representation. I also just in general don't like cancel culture. I might not like something, but I will fight for any person's right to their freedom of artistic expression even if I don't personally like it.
