This was the most congenial, wise, noncontroversial manner of presenting a most controversial Dilemma that we SDAs are presently facing. God bless Jonathon Cherne for His wise Christian like presentation. May his advice of applying due process permeate every level of the Adventist church. May a policy be set in place that any and all actions taken by any level of church leadership be questioned and or challenged by a certain number of members, church maters handled locally conference maters within the conference, likewise union, division and general conference. That the policy, action or decision be reviewed and voted approved or disapproved by representatives elected for that purpose, conference employees excluded from participation.

Thank you American Christian Ministries. It is always good to hear the pages of the Bible turning; here a little and there a little line upon line, precept upon precept. From Palm Bay Florida.

Heaven has due process, then we should too. This comment was made before listening, but I am sure you will affirm it!

"Due process" never existed for me. The church hierarchy had made up its mind from the start. It did not want to see my explanation or hear my pleas. And despite a number of people stood up for me - and being found "not guilty" by the church members - those with agendas were allowed to continue against me. My family ( they had not been charged with anything) and I had our names removed from the members list - to make sure we could not be chosen for any positions. This was after we had been removed from everything. We were shunned and censured. I laugh a bitter laugh when I hear this sermon. How many good people have been driven from the church - with NO FAIR PROCESS at all. But real sin is passed by. I know a great many of them. GOD will not forgive this sin against HIS people. Trust? What a crock. Secret meetings - character assassinations, pre-decisions on the outcomes. That is Seventh Day Adventism today. Sorry - I could not listen to the full sermon - it just made me so angry again.

Would you dare to preach a sermon on WHY due process has broken down in the church? While it's probably not a good idea to give publicity to specific church issues you come across as mealy mouthed. As for Syria, Christians were much safer under Assad(also Saddam). Minority religions were tolerated. The CIA has very little to do with due process. the "freedom fighters" are worse than Assad. We pretended to fight ISIS but our policy was to destroy Syria, not establish freedom. The hope for evangelizing Syrians lies mostly with refugees.

This may open up the gospel truth to them as it was not able before.

@@Truth-isaPerson you know not what you say. What's happening in Syria is not for the better. Aso you should know but you won't because the "church" has dared to take out what Scriptures mean and replace Israel with the "church". So much to the point that they can't even tell the time prophetically.

He seems sincere to me. His sermon is timely, no matter the specific circumstance. Stop attacking the messenger and appreciate the message.

It is perfectly fine to lay out the principle, and allow for all obvious and not-so-obvious applications. There have been plenty of lynch mobs on both sides of the current high-profile case. In the church, we have been deprived of due process for decades. The right to petition church government for redress of grievances has been allowed if convenient, and repudiated at pleasure, by lords many and gods many. The solution is to quit bowing down and serving them. Follow Jesus Christ. It is the privilege and duty of every man to be his brother's bodyguard--to see that the rights of others are maintained.

@@Truth-isaPerson "The wrath of man shall praise Thee, and the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain." There is a reason why the US quietly founded, organized, and funded the Mujahadeen, Al Qaeda, the Taliban, and ISIS, and then made a show of fighting them. Same reason why we did NOT fund the Christians of the Nineveh Plain, or the Christians of Myanmar who have been locked in a death-struggle with Communism for 80-some years. The reason is simple--Rome benefits coming and going. It's all a giant adrenochrome party, as Rev. 17 declares.
