Thanks for this video! Love the honesty and excitement you show. Its never bothered me that Toyota partnered with BMW to develop this car. I agree in that I feel like if Toyota developed a new I-6 for the GR Supra, the MSRP would've been considerably higher. Thus, making it unattainable for the average consumer. The fact that Toyota analyzed everything and made adjustments to ensure reliability met company standards was such an important thing. These days, especially with the price of gas, reliability is that much more important. Currently living/working in Taiwan right now and in the process of purchasing the 22' 3.0 Premium. Super excited to get back state-side to be able to drive it. Thanks man. Keep the videos coming.

I honestly went with the DR’s just because of the extra spoke, wasn’t a fan of the one less spoke look. But of course that’s a preference thing, as for the exhaust. I haven’t owned the HKS but have heard it and it sounds nice too! But I will say I do love my Ark, it’s loud when you want it and quiet when you do as well. Closing the valves and still having that option is great and the sound is a deep-tone with zero drone in cabin (and I’m catless).

Are the shifts solid and sharp or mushy? I’m waiting on the manual to come out and compare which I’d enjoy more.
@PhongVLG2 жыл бұрын
It’s solid and sharp, very on point and you can also purchase a transmission tune from xHP which makes it shift even faster and sharper which personally I didn’t think it shift any faster 😂 But the manual will be a nice enthusiast feeling, but compared to this auto trans called the ZF-8 it will for sure be much faster, the manual won’t be able to out shift it.
@charliestoybox20992 жыл бұрын
@@PhongVLG thanks for the feedback. Definitely hard for a manual to keep up these days on speed compared to this auto or a dual clutch. But it’s just going to be a toy so manual might be more fun. But if auto can shift with a sharp felt kick versus smooth, it might be better for me. 58 with trashed legs and ankles. But still, I drive dump trucks with 18 speed for living. Not going to buy until end of 2023 so have time. Need new garage roof first.
@PhongVLG2 жыл бұрын
@@charliestoybox2099 Ah I see, coming from my previous build which was a manual as well.. I can promise these new auto dual clutch transmissions are as fun especially since it’s responsive and gives the feeling you are still in control, all the while giving you the option to just throw it in drive and relax hahaha. I don’t miss manual in traffic that’s for sure 😂 But either choice, you’ll love it, it’s a fun car overall and makes power very easily with minor modifications.
@charliestoybox20992 жыл бұрын
@@PhongVLG yeah everything I’ve seen is this auto actually shifts faster than many dual clutch setups. Great for lap times. Living up North in Washington I have 2 racetracks with an hour each way that I play on with my bikes. The car will be secondary transportation but mostly a toy to do laps with. Wheels, tires, suspension and brakes is what I’ll be concentrating on. Glad to see a new Supra out. I like the nose way better than the tail. The nose reminds me of the Enzo.
@PhongVLG2 жыл бұрын
@@charliestoybox2099 that sounds awesome! Yeah around the track I can also see this being plenty fun. The stock power is plenty enough for sure, also I looked for a time stamp on my video for you to sort of see the shifting it’s at 30:34 you can see how fast it shifts there, other than that appreciate the comment and enjoy the rest of your day!
