Challenge concept: Simsie makes a little house the way she likes it, uses her favorite swatch for every item she wants, makes it nice and cohesive. Then when it’s finished, chaos mode kicks in. For every item, she must then go in and change the swatch either to her least favorite or to a randomized number swatch. Let the crazy colors and weird combinations unfold! There could be a before/after tour, or the whole thing could be built duplex style, with the two versions existing side-by-side. Enjoy!

Okay, my number one thing I think would be a cool feature of a fairy pack would be changelings! Instead of your child being taken away from you if their needs aren’t being met, imagin they get switched with a Fey child that causes mayhem and the only way to get rid of them/get your own child back is to take proper care of them for a set amount of time? That would be so cool! I would also love to see different options for fairies like hoofed feet (probably shoes that you could put on), horns/antlers, talons, tails, etc, and plant based options too like a dandelion Afro! I’m not sure about powers but honestly, just giving them mischief and nature based powers like spellcasters but changing the aesthetic still might be worth it for some people. They should also definitely have immortality and maybe an ability where food crafted by them has mischievous properties? Like maybe it makes you unable to travel? Or shrinks you? Or makes you indebted to them like you owe them a favor or something? Idk but it could be cool!

With Fairies in the Sims 4, I just really hope that we get more classic folklore fae as opposed to human sized Tinkerbells. Don't' get me wrong, I think we should be able to make pixie style fairies as well, but also let us chose from a variety of options to make some crude farting trolls, nasty imps, elegant elves and raucous satyrs. Basically imagine an assortment of wings, horns, skin types and feet to open the entire fae realm to us. The whole community could have so much fun. (Edit: To specify, I am not saying to make a dozen different occults, I am saying make the 'Fae' occult, and then let us design the occult to our hearts desire, so that it can look like any fairy realm creature from folklore)

I really love the idea, I love this sort of thing, but my concern is that the game might change direction too dramatically. What I mean is that, if EA would embrace the idea of adding a bunch of "fantasy RPG" gameplay, then the people who love it will want more, and more, and the risk is that, (IF EA would decide to spend money on developing "RPG like" elements, which I doubt they will) the rest, the "regular" life sim gameplay would suffer. Sims 4 is already a really buggy game. I would rather they spend their money on making normal life sim stuff actually WORK. That said, I would LOVE if they added a few details like CAS (ofc) but there's probably several options to add fairies/elves in a less elaborate way. Maybe as a "subcategory". I really don't know what it would look like, but I'm sure there's more "subtle" way to add fairies without creating a whole new occult. Just my opinion!

I can confirm, at least with Werewolves, that babies, toddlers and children all have *some* unique aspects and gameplay. As a newborn and infant, werewolves will occasionally be heard trying to howl, as well as infants getting either angry or sad during a full moon. Toddlers are the same, but you can actively teach them to howl, where they'll then be able to howl on their own, and will howl during full moons, along with getting angry. I believe they'll also gain a sentiment for being taught how to howl, although I don't think it's a unique one - it's just an adoring sentiment. Children can also be taught to howl, and tend to learn more quickly than toddlers. They also get unique angry moodlets, relating to their mouth bring sore from growing fangs and having a 'beastly growth spurt'. If you teach a child to howl, they do gain a milestone for it as well. Children also get angry moodlets during a full moon, and will become tense in the days leading to a full moon, the same ones teens and adults get. And then, as a teen, they first develop into a true werewolf, gaining their beast form, they gain a milestone for first manifesting as a werewolf, and, even without the parenthood mood swings and the fury, werewolf teenagers get angry much more often than regular Sims. This is a trait shared by all ages as well, it seems, so your werewolf children do tend to be more aggressive than regular Sims. There's also a unique trait that werewolves can be born with, called 'Dormant Wolf'. This essentially is when your child is born a regular Sim, but has werewolf parents. This trait is somewhat random, but does seem to skip a generation, and you don't need one of the parents to be a regular Sim either. Dormant Wolf Sims tend to get angry more often, and, from what I've seen, don't seem to have the same natural fear of werewolves that a regular Sim without the Dormant Wolf trait, so it does also act like a defacto 'Werewolf Ally' trait. They've also got their own unique bit of gameplay, as if you take them to swim in the lake in Moonwood Mill during a full moon, and they're a teenager or older, they'll fully awaken into a werewolf. They also seem to be completely immune to the lycanthropy virus that Greg can give you, so while they still fear Greg, he doesn't seem to have the power to turn a Sim with the Dormant Wolf trait. So while it's a shame the other occults don't have this level of depth, the werewolves have a surprising amount of depth and gameplay for all ages, even Newborns and Infants don't miss out. I just wish there was a crib that matched the bassinet that came with Werewolves, when they added Infants to the game, but hey - they had to leave something out 😭😂 But yeah, if they did release a Fairies pack for the Sims 4, I'd imagine they'd further develop what they started with Werewolves and have more gameplay and maybe even fairy wings for the little ones. It'd be weird if they brought out a new occult pack of any kind, but decided to just.. Make it worse than Werewolves, you know? Werewolves is the new standard for occult game packs. So, if we ever see fairies, let's hope they live up to it

@@ryuusei1907 I think the reason they haven't gone and done more refreshes of older packs is because of Spa Day. I think it was a test to see if they could draw more people into buying Spa Day, if they went and updated the gameplay, added new gameplay and added some more CAS. And while it was successful, I don't think it drew in enough *new* people who hadn't already purchased Spa Day. Most of the people who benefited from the Spa Day refresh were people who already owned Spa Day, so they haven't gone and done anymore. Which is a shame, because if they went back and revamped Vampires, Aliens in GTW, did a small update to the Spellcasters and maybe even gave some love to the poor, neglected Mermaids, there'd probably be a lot of new purchases for these packs. Like, it's honestly kinda crazy to think that Aliens have more gameplay than the Mermaids, and Aliens aren't even that complex. They're literally just regular Sims with squeeky voices and the ability to transmute Crystals into Metals and back. But then they've also got Sixam, abductions with the ability to make male Sims pregnant, Alien night at bars. And what do Mermaids get? A pretty tail and the ability to swim fast? A+ on aesthetics, I guess 💀😭

I want fairies! ...but I would love to see them do something more fairytale oriented, with quests, lore, a livable secret fairy world. It would be fun if they incorporated some concepts from "The Brothers Gimm" books. They could simify classic fairytales like Humptydumpty, the old lady who lived in the shoe, three blind mice, a yellow brick road and a girl with ruby colored slippers. I think that would make the pack stand out from all of the other occult packs. :)

I'm DESPERATELY holding onto the hope that they will bring faeries to the game, and that it will be done well. Faeries were my very favorite occult in the sims 3.i also LOVED pairing them with werewolves romantically, because there were a lot of really cute interactions, like "impishly pester" where the fairy would go into the tiny glowing orb form, and fly around the werewolf, who would gently paw at them in the air. Ideas for a fairy pack: • clothes made of flower petals, flower crowns, glitter skin details to make them look more supernatural, lots of different wing options and sizes, more colored hair options that can be toggled to be inherited or not • Atmosphere effects that can be placed in build mode and CAS without being tied to specific objects (ex: maybe like how placing fireflies works in build mode but we can do it with a sparkle effect, mist effect, or falling flower petals-also like the unicorn horn in horse ranch has a sparkly aura around it but it can be equipped as skin details for sims • Nature magic - fairies can communicate with plants and a Mother Nature sim that acts as a kind of leader to the fairies. Mother Nature can assign tasks to fairies and you can raise your fairy rank, later you can choose to continue following orders or overthrow the throne and become the new leader of the fairies where you become responsible for maintaining balance in nature (or upsetting it) • to become a fairy you can take your sim to a specific forested area and perform a series of interactions with plants and fairy shrines to prove that you are “pure of heart” and the spirits of nature will bless you by turning you into a fairy • Child sims (and younger) can naturally see fairies and talk and play with them but older sims won’t believe them • Fairies can switch between Fairy-form and a disguised form where they appear as normal sims. The fairy form can be edited similar to vampire, mermaid, and werewolf forms • Fairies can reveal their identity as a fairy to other non-fairy sims. If you have a high relationship level you may be able to convince them-if they become convinced they will now be able to see your fairy-sim in their fairy-form • optional miniature fairy-form where your sim flies around, maybe the miniature-form can also be passed down genetically or acquired through high-level fairy magic • Child fairy sims (and toddlers) have an easier time making connections with animals and plants will be higher quality if they talk to them or care for them • Elder sims may get a sense that a child or toddler is a fairy if they have a high relationship, other children or toddlers may get the sense that a fairy-sim is a bit strange but they can’t figure out why they feel that way • Pregnant non-fairy sims that love nature or have a high gardening skill can “read fairytales to baby bump” for a random chance of giving birth to a sim ‘blessed by the spirits of nature’ (a fairy sim) • Fairy sims can start using their powers from infancy, but infants can pretty much only sneeze fairy dust and make fairy-poo fertilizer. Toddlers can begin to try voluntarily using their powers, successful enchantments include raising the quality of plants, instantly filling a random need for themself or another sim, giving everyone around them a magical Very Happy moodlet or Playful moodlet where sims will have increased chances of successful interactions and crafting quality items. Fairy-toddlers may accidentally make infant sims float for a short period of time, the infant could also float back into a crib. • Fairy-children unlock a lot more mischief magic, including making sims forget why they came into a room, making their teacher forget to collect the homework if they didn’t do it, making a slide extra-slippery, a puddle splash bigger than expected, an animal (squirrel, bunny, or cats and dogs) chase another sim, give another sim an acne breakout or bad allergies for a day, make any food taste like candy (no more stale garden salad for breakfast), instantly make any food spoiled, make other sims playful, play hide and seek with animals, bring their toys to life for awhile to play together, etc. • Teen fairy sims can do everything children can but also play with romance-type magic to try and make themselves or other sims more or less attractive. They can try making themselves irresistible to attract their crush, but maybe they accidentally become too attractive instead and other sims won’t leave them alone until they undo the spell or it wears off. Teens can put other sims (teen or older) into flirty moods and convince them to talk to someone (or talk to them themselves). Certain spells they could cast as children can now have a longer duration and be stronger than before. • As teens, fairy sims will be able to educate themselves about fairy history and culture and learn about the importance of maintaining balance in nature and living in harmony, they can choose whether or not they want to follow that same path • Teen fairy sims can cast a spell that makes them look older and they can go into bars and order drinks without getting caught, just be careful not to bump into anyone you know • Fairy teens can give themselves a boost to any one of their needs, they can enchant themselves to allow them to read faster (and complete homework faster), complete chores easily, be better at video games, and be better at taking care of younger sims • Elder fairy sims can mentor younger sims and ‘pass on wisdom’. They can also show off powerful spells such as instantly filling all the needs of any sim of any age (also works for animals). They can give themselves eternal youth/beauty, change the weather, give an ‘elder’s blessing’ to pregnant sims, making them have twins or triplets or turning their child-to-be into a fairy, they can also find secret talents or encourage talents in other sims-revealing a skill that the targeted sim will improve at a much faster rate. Lol I’ve spent way too long on this comment so I’m just gonna wrap it up with a few more ideas • Fortune/Misfortune magic • powerful fairies can “make nature reclaim” objects • obviously lots of flowery/overgrown landscaping items • srsly tho lots of optional sparkle and glittering effects on EVERYTHING-they have to come with normal swatches too • give me natural-looking/nature-inspired appliances and facilities-I don’t care if a wooden clawfoot bathtub with intricate rococo-esque carvings is impractical and a stone sink with flowery vines around it is weird I need it for my aesthetic also with matching stove, oven, counters, cabinets, tables, beds for all ages, wall-art and appropriate columns, arches, roof details GIVE ME EVERYTHING • and ofc lots of dresses, skirts MASC-FRAME INCLUSIVE, flower crowns and plant accessories, suits, shoes, and tattoos with glittery swatches as well as normal swatches. I’m dreaming big ik but the potential is huge imo Edit: Actually I think I might prefer if they make it into a whole spinoff like the sims medieval but I have even less hope of that happening

I love occult sims. I play with them all the time, working through the skills trees or trying to get around the sunlight is always a fun extra challenge to the game. I would love a fairy pack so long as there’s a decent amount of gameplay impact, don’t just give us regular sims with wings or copy the magic system from realm of magic. I don’t know what they could do to make them unique and worth the money but unless they have their own unique function it’s unfortunately not a pack worth making.

Werewolf children and toddlers can do some cute interactions such as howling, actually. Also, Spellcasters and Vampires can have the teeth, eyes, skin colors and ear shapes of their packs and Aliens have alternate appearances even as infants. So while none of the occults have access to their skill trees until they become teenagers, I do think there's room for toddler Fairies with wings.

@@cinderellaskeleton6720not everyone is a computer scientist (sadly) so they don't really have a grasp of how a game is built (engine, core, etc.) Adding new things that play within the mechanics of the core works perfectly fine, even if it has to be hacky somehow (like how in batuu you basically have a lot for each "neighbourhood" since the game core requires things to work within lots and stuff, same goes for the secret worlds or the top of mt. komorebi) Changing the core itself would require every single thing that they ever added to get changed as well. Just rewriting everything from scratch would be faster tbh (but still would take an enormous amount of time and EA is definitely too greedy to do something risky like that)

There's a well-thought-out mod for fairies, it also expands on witches (as a separate life state to spellcasters) and had werewolves before the Werewolves pack launched! I think it's by Spinning Plumbobs

I loved the sims 3! Supernatural was/is my favorite EP, and fairies were my fav occult. In the sims 3 the fairies had a hidden green thumb trait. I think they could do that again, or like a hidden "loves the outdoors " trait, or add the green thumb trait to the game. They could give us magic surrounding plants and weather, spellcasters only have one plant spell. Flight similar to the brooms for spellcasters would be cool. They could pull inspiration from the Magicians and True Blood have a fairy realm and read minds. They could also be good at trading/making deals. Cross-pack integration like vamps getting a drunk moodlet when drinking from them, or spellcasters and fairies dueling! Fairies to get a bonus to gardening, and pet training, and maybe build relationships with animals faster. I don't know, they don't have to reinvent the wheel, I think implementing features they've already done for other occults with a slight fairy spin on it would still be fun.

For the Sims 4 werewolves, they did add a little bit of werewolf behavior to the werewolf babies (newborns howl, toddlers chew on their toys, and you can teach them how to howl), so it wouldnt be impossible for baby fairies to have a few details.

@5:30 - That's one of the nice things about TS3: you can disable packs in the launcher and not have to deal with irritants like that. :) @6:30 - Us old people should probably recognize Rick *Durwood* from "Bewitched". :) edit @13:50 - IIRC, magic grows back slowly if there's any left in the bar. When you fully deplete the bar, however, you're locked out of magic for a few hours. Oh, and BOO! for not sticking around long enough to see the results of Branch's trip to outer space. :P

I didn't play much of Sims 3, but I LOVE having occults in Sims 4 and would love a Fairy pack!! I especially love the little fairy house. I really, really hope we eventually get one for Sims 4, even if it's a relatively small/simple pack. We have familiars, so I don't think it would be too difficult to use that as a basis for a small fairy form.

I would consider fairies as goodhearted creatures. So they could either make element fairies (air, water, fire, earth) or just good energy and magic. They're more pastel and bright, not like witches or spell casters that are more gothic and dark. They could also make a dreamy mushroom forest with very tall trees so you are really deep in the forest. So deep that u can't even see the sky. That would be interesting. There are actually many differences. Especially if they take inspiration from the WINX.

Oh wow all the nostalgia, I got all the packs when they released, so Into The Future was my last, and that was a little confusing to play, very strange seeing your ancestors in the future lol, but the world was cool and the new items. But wow I forgot about being able to ride on the train too, that's awesim! Choo Choo fairy lol! 🤣 I would think it's the train, but there's a delay in it giving you the energy, that makes sense for me lol? I hear you on not wanting the occults in your normal save in Sims 4 lol, I have a specific save where I've been playing with the vampires and werewolves, but I have been dabbling with magic in my normal save, as one of my spare's kids got the magic aspiration so I've been working on that a little bit. I'll likely add Fairies into my play with in that save too lol! I watched the Bureau of Magical things recently and I would prefer if Fairies were like that, in that the fairies did the tooth fairy thing and helped others, the Pixies were the tricksters, and there were witches too, so it would be cool if it was like that, we have the Tooth fairy in game, how fun would it be if you could be that lol!? The toddler werewolves do act differently, they can howl, and they eat food slightly differently, the vamps are no different that I noticed as they were the older pack, not tried with toddler witches though, but I'm assuming they added it into Werewolves as they learned that's what we wanted to see, and we do lol! I know they act different, as in my Werewolf/Vampire save, the one was a full wolf and the other not, so I have to dunk them in the river when they're a teen to activate their powers lol, but I've been too busy with other saves to do so lol! But if the fairies had baby wings then, that would be awesim too! 🤩

omg, i have a whole freaking essay about fairies in the sims 4 because i really, really wanted the fairy aesthetic, so; i thought at the lower levels, your sim could do harmless little pranks, some auras like in the sims 3. then, they could do stuff that helps with gardening and so on. i feel like fairies should have easier time making friends with all sorts of animals too. at the higher levels, they could do lethal pranks, like maybe make a sim so cold they could die or something? and change weather too, cause i think it fits in with the fae idea. in general, i thought the sims team could lean more into the fae stuff, like have fairies have true names. the name picked at birth could be the one they tell others to call them, and they could have an option to give their true name if they want to, which would let other sim kind of control them? like, similarily to how your vampire sim can mind control others + maybe you could ask them for money. it'd be cool if you could convince fairy to tell you their name, though i feel like it should require high charisma skills plus good relationship for the interaction to succeed. another interaction i'd love to see is something like "trick sim into promising", since, you know, fae. and if the interaction succeeds, your fairy sim can ask for stuff like money, maybe they could ask to get married without any romantic relationship?? and the higher logic skills the tricked sim has, the lower chance of success is. so yeah. i really feel like, if done right, fairies could bring new stuff and they could be their own separete thing

There is a mod for fairies in Sims 4. Spinning Plumbob has the Fairies and Witches mod, which has quite a lot of gameplay in it. It'd be fun to see some play of that.

I'm obsessed with the idea of fairies in the sims. I've wanted them for SO long and I just think there's a whole lot of different things they could incorporate with a fairy pack. Here's my ideas: -Let us make micro lots that only fairies can access! They can be just like an ordinary house, but in a tiny secret lots. They could have tree and mushroom furniture and act like any other kind of secret lot. -Fairy variety! There's more things we could cover than just winged pixies: fauns, elves, and gnomes(!) are all different kinds of fey. -Fairies could be found in the sylvan glade! This is a base game lot that exists already and it just makes so much sense to give it a bit of an upgrade. -We could implement those wild unicorns that were missing from horse ranch now! And Sylvan glade would be the perfect place for them.

The difference between spellcasters and fairies 1. Fairies are earth-based, so think a mix between plant sims and spellcaster 2. Fairies are more tricksters than spellcasters, meaning more silliness as opposed to mischief spells (Think the pink hair in TS3 v.s. Despairio spell in TS4) 3. As opposed to spellcasters' "battle" system, Fairies are more competitive, so they could have competitions (such as a flying competition, prank competition, magic garden competition, etc.) in a more friendly but tricky way as opposed to the outright magic battles of the spellcaster 4. Like with the vampires vs.. werewolves introduced with the werewolf pack, the spellcasters and fairies could have a rivalry! 5. Fairies are often linked to elements (Tinkerbell), so the abilities of a Fairy could be different depending on what season they were born into (we love cross-pack compatibility in this house) or based on the lunar cycle for the base game 6. the realm of magic pack was pretty early on, so can you imagine the LORE and storyline we could get for the fairies 7. the aesthetic! Fairycore, here we come! Could you imagine a fairy cottage with enchanted forest vibes? That could also be the theme of the new world!

I use spellcasters a lot, mostly because I love the ease of using the "herbio," "grand delicio," "copy pasto" and "repario" spells and being able to fly...the flying is SO helpful for university!

i actually didn't own the supernatural until pretty late (bought it on a whim many years after i started playing) but oh my god it's some of the most fun i've ever had with this game. i just love how goofy it is! One time I was throwing a party with my witch sim in a house i had spent hourssss on (if you've ever built in the sims 3 you know) and i invited a bunch of neighbors/friends as you do. One of them showed up in werewolf form with 3 buddies(who wasn't even invited!!??) and they went berserk, scratching my furniture and threatening my other guests. My sim was hot headed and she started arguing with them and set on of them on fire. Which is fine, i did that kinda thing all the time, it was fun. but idk what was different this time but the fire spread. i did manage to get it under control with another spell but jfc my whole house could have gone up in flames. This is one of my absolute fav moments ive had in the sims 3.
