Indeed, it IS A DOUBLE STANDARD. As an American, all I can say is I believe the Speaker of the House of Representatives in our Government has single handedly cost thousands of lives of those defending Ukraine. He disgusts me and does not represent the America I grew up in. I pray Ukrainians will forgive those of us who support them and shun those who purposely blocked aid time and time again. @BrandyF2 I think the U.S. should give Ukraine more support. However the circumstances are different. That the west didn't do much in 2014 also created some of this situation. As to house leader Johnson. It's complicated because of how our government works. You have to build coalitions in government regardless of party. If Johnson set a time for a vote without the proper support, he could easily be replaced before such a vote even took place. The Democrats would have to pledge to support him in a leadership vote. Because of party divides, they won't commit. Understand it only takes 1 Republican to ask for a vote. And with the very small edge in party control, it would only require about 3 Republicans to oust him. This is an unusual circumstance rarely seen. While the support for Ukraine is very similar in both parties, there are 5 or 6 Republicans just as in the Democratic party who don't want to give money to Ukraine. Or any country for that matter. Anyway, if Johnson were to be ousted, everything could be delayed for many months.

It’s all because Russia has nukes and the US will NEVER confront Russia directly! It’s too bad Ukraine was made to give up their nukes but the 90’s there was great hope that Russia could be a normal country. No, not yet. They aren't a NATO ally yet and we should not offer that equipment at this time. However, if a loan is given, or lend/lease, I am all for a program for them to pay back a percentage and then maybe forgiving the rest of the loan at a later date. I am not a fan of Israel, especially as of late, but they are an ally that deserves the support that we guaranteed. I don't see Russia making it past this year simply because they cannot keep with this amount of spending and will need to leave before total economic collapse, and then I am all for Ukraine being invited to join NATO. These are not cheap or easily available systems. Patriot systems are made at one a month. Does the US need to do more for Ukraine, absolutely!!! We have failed them and the heroes that have passed for their country, and it looks like the R's finally woke enough to start getting this passed.

Israel will pay back the tax funded money that is being released to the Military industrial complex to create weapons. I have nothing against a lend/lease agreement with Ukraine. I am a tired taxpayer that would like to be taxed a little less. Wars or not .
