If your boss gets mad when you make small mistakes like that I'd consider looking for a new boss. Shit happens in tree work. You don't want to unexpectedly lose your job one day over a very human mistake.

Enjoyed the video. Just what I needed. Good timing. I have a 90' Hemlock to do. It sets right next to a house. I'm thinking I'll have just enough room to speed line most of the limbs. A couple that are long and low will have to be lowered slowly with a tag line attached to pull away from the roof. Thanks for the excellent demonstration.

Opposing "A's" in the saddles upper patch abbreviates "All American", tag line for the 82nd Airborne division at Fort Bragg (aka Liberty) North Carolina. Thousands and thousands of current and former members should be honored to be thought of in the commission of such a handsome saddle! Sold vid August

I snagged a rigging rope last week, just barely, raised a little bump and fuzz on the mantle. Bought a new one for critical tasks like leaners over houses and power lines, taking no chances... well to rephrase, minimizing risks. I like those ropes perfect. You nearly killed youtubers with the snag pulled out of the tree!🤣 Blessings, happy Thanksgiving!

Melt cut the rope. Remove the Damaged sheath section. Now you have two good ropes that meet OSHA requirements. Shorter, but can be used for any normal use. Using proper knot technique, tie it together and very little length is lost. Still good to pull trees, etc. Might be short for normal usage usless you don't mind the inconvenience of passing knots. With the damaged sheath, the rope should be taken out of service unless you don't have personal concern for significant liability.

I thought the battery saw sounded weak at the beginning. Probably cold temps are a factor and batteries do taper off wirh usage over time.

I really like how you just get it over with and go to the top for your tie in and setting your speed line. Yes you are going up the tree twice but having that tie at the top is nice. There is no tieing in over and over again as you work your way to the top. Me personally, I prefer to have a tie in. I don't like working just off my lanyards.

So the point of this video is probably to point out that the outside of the rope is not the load bearing part, or that the ropes have a safety factor built in to their load rating... But all I can think is how much more satisfying it is to hear that 200t growl!!!

I view ropes like securing a load. If it’s someone else’s rope or if the load is being driven by them, it’s their judgement that counts. On the other hand, if my life/health/money is at risk, I’ll give an opinion.

Stfu! That line wasn't seeing any shock load at all, if it were to break, the limbs already in a safe zone. That ropes only to guide the limbs down. The limb would already have been directed in the right direction, by time it could break! Had it been in a high risk area, number one. He wouldn't use a speedline, num 2, he wouldnt have chanced dropping one limb on that rope! Don't get your panties in a bunch over nothing now!
