I have been buying silver bars FI as you know and I've made some nice purchases in the last few months, I picked up two 20 gram gold bars as part payment of a boating job I did, the same client gave me some larger silver bars including a 500gr and a 1kilo gr bar from the royal mint.

Idk where u are, but when I shop I get coins,bars and rounds for less per, the more I buy. Valcambi stuff seemes to have a big upcharge in general in the states so I've avoided it for this reason and used rounds instead. Regardless still a beautiful bar and I wish I had one!

In some countries, there is NO VAT / GST etc. levied on buying or selling or investing in such Silver Bullion Bars and also apply to Gold Bullion. There should be a new U.K. legislature to cancel VAT on such investments on Precious Metals.

Largest bars I ever bought were the monarch precious metals 100oz poured bars. They were monsters! I’ve never bought a kilo though! Seeing a few videos of these kilo bars convinced me to save up for a few of them!

Your coin is minted. The bar is cast = cheaper. I find it hard to justify silver because of the VAT. Yes you can buy privately but this is still above cost because sellers know buyers have to pay VAT otherwise.

I recently tried to buy one of these in Chennai(India). In addition to GST of 5%(which sucks) they are asking 6% making charges for a flat cut bar of Silver with NO engravings or impressions other than basic serial/weight!!! Dropped the idea of paying such atrocious add-on charges for the bullion. It was a cool looking bar though 😅

Risk ratio sounds so funny basically you buy it and lose 238 pounds.. way better dealers in Europa that buy back for far better rates. Try Europa Bullion buy buy 1 kilo 823 Euro buyback 747 Euro.. Don’t know if it’s a problem for those living in the UK though.
