Another good thought would be where are you guys on your stacking journey? If your just starting you would have best liquidity on smaller bars. But if you are at thousands of oz's and have all sizes filled in you may just be trying to add weight. I'm at the point where Im just stacking 100oz bars because that's what it takes to move me to the next 1000 more quickly and at the lowest premium. Someday I'll have to throw 1,000oz bar on the stack like you Rob!! The ultimate goal being to make a throne out of stacked 1,000oz bars haha!

100oz ain't much cheaper than 1kg bars I think 1kg is the sweet spot for weight vs cost.

In my opinion it depends on where you’re at in your stacking and what you personally can afford. If you’re just starting out I think 1 ouncers are the way to go. Once you have a good base of 1 ouncers then move into the larger sizes

1kg bar is more easily liquidated but has the same price economy (at least where I come from) It is the smallest "big bar" with the least premium. More collectable, more affordable to more people.

Bottom line is if you’re a highroller trying to stack something you plan to truly profit on most heavily bigger is better if you can move it. The logical choice premium aside is 1 ounce, 5 ounce, and 10 ounce with a nice bag of mixed constitutional silver. Those are the most practical for exchange if what we all expect is coming is coming….

I've always heard that "size matters". That "bar" that you refer to as a "1000 oz bar", sure looks a lot larger than 1000 oz. More like 2000 oz (or more), ... but I'm just looking at what I assume are some 100 oz beside it. I know what 100oz look like, as I have several of them, mostly RCM and two Nadir, an Englehard, and another generic one. Again, that certainly looks a lot larger than a "1000 oz bar".
@joseco19782 жыл бұрын
Also the shipping costs will be much lower for the smaller bars. That'll make up some of the premium difference if you needed to sell them.

I'm a collector, so 1 ounce bars for me...just bought a Beavis and Butt-head Halloween silver bar...these typically sell for hundreds. I have lots of 1972-1975 art bars...some are worth hundreds each, some $30. Silver has made me fairly wealthy...its so easy.. My latest hoarding is Franklin Halves...bought around 10,000 of them in the last 7 years....7 years ago $5, now $12 for commons. I think the 1964 JFK is next in line to do well. Stack it high guys!

In my mind... 1 oz sovereign coins (easily recognizable - Maples, Britannias, Kruggers, etc.) for trade, barter, small purchases. Kilos are my next size up, if I had to trade for larger purchases. Then 100 oz bars if I ever wanted to trade for land. At least that's how I stack.

Start with silver dimes because if inflation hits one dime will be a full meal. Then quarters, halves, .999 1oz bullion, 5oz, 10oz, & Kilo. Going higher if the silver price climbs to say $600 oz. it will hard to sell for cash and you'll encounter the big T... If 3 silver dimes will feed you for a day then 100 will feed you for a month or a 1000 for a year which today cost approx. $200/hundred which today is good for 20 to 40 meals.
@TXLionHeart2 жыл бұрын
If "inflation" hits, the dollar price of meals will rise with the price of silver. You won't get any wealthier holding precious metals; they are just money. You will, however, protect your purchasing power from government theft.

That’s a lot of dimes! Junk silver is hard to come by, even coin shops having to search harder
@davidgomez5116 Жыл бұрын
People will never do that even in end times if they were paying bank for table scraps. Not enough people are informed on 90% junk silver most people will see a dime nickel or quarter and treat it as face value especially since it has the actual number on the coin they'll think your just trying to scam them. Even if you can sit there long enough to prove it's real silver people are also impatient and ain't gonna sit there for every coin for you to prove it's real. Good luck if that's your plan it will only work with people in the know that also collect junk silver. If your collecting for face value id reccomend the maple leaf since they cost a little less than silver dollars, they are four 9ths fine silver instead of three 9ths, they come with technology to help keep milk spotting away, and there's a nice 5 dollar value on there instead of 1 dollar. They only downside I can see with them is they are just slightly less popular than the silver eagle. Which blows my mind seeing all the other benefits of having a maple leaf over a silver eagle.

3:23. Another thing to also consider is that if you don't want the IRS to know that you're buying silver, then you shouldn't buy a 1000oz bar. But if you don't care about the IRS knowing that you're buying silver, and you just want the most amount of silver for the cheapest price, then i'd recommend 1000oz bars, but if you don't wanna have a giant silver brick laying around, then u'd suggest that you go with 100oz bars, but it all depends on how you look at it, and i may also be missing somethibg, so correct me if you think that i'm wrong.

Most of the stack is 1 ounce coins and bars. Got rid of the generic 1 oz rounds and bought coins instead, they seem to hold their value better. But do usually buy them in bulk quantity to lower the price per. Have a few modern collector coins, but very few. Would much rather have a lower mintage vintage round or bar. There seems to be a lot of new runs of limited mintage pieces being cranked out. Some may hold their premium over time, but not many. Most will go for a little more than over spot but no where near their original sales price. VT247
