I was in the market 3 weeks ago, i rented rav4 for a day, it was noisy and rough roads were felt, test drove the Escape hybrid and i preferred it over the rav4 but interior was worse than the rav4 but slightly quiet on the road. The Crv hybrid was not on my list but decided to test drive it just when i was getting the ford and oh boy, what a ride the crv hybrid is, most quiet of the 3, does not sound as depicted here, has power and drives effortlessly. Interior quality is near luxury. Its 3 weeks and i still cant have enough. No regrets at all, i will buy another crv hybrid if i was in the market. dont trash it because everybody is buying the rav4 or base it on car reviewers, test drive one for yourself and you will see the difference
@henryhonda84084 жыл бұрын
Just curious, was the Rav4 you rented a hybrid? If not I also test drove a Rav4 gas model and I wasn't impressed at all with the engine & road noise. I then test drove a Rav4 LE hybrid and it drove like a dream..... quiet & smooth as silk. No spare tire and no towing whatsoever are deal breakers for me...... and the hybrid CR-V isn't even available in Canada this year. So I purchased a Rav4 XSE hybrid and absolutely love it. I traded in my 2019 Insight hybrid which was very difficult to do as much as I loved it but I wanted an hybrid suv and didn't like sitting very low with very little ground clearance in our 6 months of winter weather up here.
@modernsoccer18604 жыл бұрын
@@henryhonda8408 I heard the xse drives smoother and better because of different suspension but that price point is as close to owning a Lexus NX hybrid. And yes it was a gasoline version but it eventually will switch to gasoline engine which will be noisy.
@henryhonda84084 жыл бұрын
@@modernsoccer1860 I barely even notice the difference when the gas engine kicks in..... mind you I never floor it, if that's the cause of the noise. But I know when I test drove the gas model it was very noisy & I didn't notice any of that whatsoever in the hybrid which I now own.

@@henryhonda8408 www.google.com/amp/s/www.digitaltrends.com/car-reviews/2020-honda-cr-v-hybrid-review/%3famp Compares the crv hybrid, escape and rav hybrids The transition between gasoline and electric power still feels more linear in the Escape Hybrid and RAV4 Hybrid, however. The CR-V Hybrid is just plain nice to drive. "That aside, the CR-V Hybrid felt great to drive. It’s not fast, but the electric motor provides a helpful shove of torque when pulling away from stops. The ride is smoother than the rival CUVs from Ford and Toyota, and the interior is quiet. The paddle shifters that control regenerative braking were a helpful touch. We could slow the car without touching the brake pedal, much like downshifting in a manual-transmission car"
@fcg2434 жыл бұрын
@@henryhonda8408 the CRV drives smoother but feels like a boat and is in need of a refresh due to the lack of cargo space compared to the RAV4 since the battery sits up higher so no spare tire either. I own a 2020 XSE fully loaded except panoramic roof and is not Lexus NX price, I paid $36k for it after $3k rebate. The RAV4 looks way better in XSE trim and rides very smooth and quiet. Took it on a 2,500 mile trip to Florida and rode like a dream, firm and smooth suspension and not a single rattle. Averaged 43.5 MPG and only spent $120 in gas. Another con about the CRV Hybrid is the warranty, Honda doesn’t offer a higher warranty on its hybrid power train like Toyota does so you only have the 5yr 60k mile warranty and when your battery goes out you have to pay $3k or more to replace. Honda’s IMA system is nowhere near as reliable as Toyota’s Hybrid Synergy drive.

Because Optimally turbo 1.6L rated for 27/37 mpg (31 combined), has substantially less cargo space, no AWD, lower ride height, much poorer resale value (being a Kia + people want SUVs these days). And turbos don't last as long (due to higher heat). Otherwise go for it.

Technically, it's not a CVT. Honda calls it an eCVT, but in reality there is no transmission of any kind... certainly not any traditional belt & pulley CVT. The gas engine mainly exists to generate electricity to power the electric motor. When you get "on throttle" the increased demand for electric power causes the gas engine to run at higher RPMs to provide the required electricity. But it's just a single fixed gear. Once the electric motor brings the car above 45 mph, there’s a clutch that allows the gas engine to be directly connected to the drive shaft to assist the electric motor.

Check reliability ratings or any Toyota hybrid Prius or RAV4 and they are class leading. In fact they've been proven to be even more reliable with less servicing (brakes last much longer, no starter, alternator, simple hybrid drivetrain) then their same gas models. Hey joe this is a nice 👍🏾 Crv Be sure to save me a powdered doughnut and some Twinkies and I’m surprised 😮 😯 😲 this don’t have ventilation seats 💺 how could Honda do this? And speaking of all you can eat Buffet made me Hungry 😋 I Wanna Go To Eat At Golden Corral and P.S.I Prefer A Civic
At least the Honda CR-V is not boring and ugly unlike the boring Toyota *fake ass* RAV4

Hybrids are not worth the money if there price and the little bit of gas savings is not worth the extra money. My wife has a 16 Crv with 18,000 miles. I like the crv as we have owned 3 crv’s , but we also bought a 19 equinox LT and it has better leg room in the front seats. I am not the biggest GM FAN , but we need a car , also it was a used equinox with 1,100 miles on when we bought it last year in July
