I purchased an LX AWD yesterday for my wife. After driving Jeep Liberty for 12 years she is ecstatic about the vehicle. I am 6' 3" 235 lbs and am very comfortable in both the front and rear seats. Ours is Red with light gray interior. We did include a 100,000 mile warranty into the deal. Our friends have owned 4 of these CRV's. The one they are currently driving has 150K miles with no issues except routine maintenance. I'll be happy with that.

As a Crv owner, 2017, I love it. Best vehicle I ever owned. A few things to nit pick over: interior lights are hard to find, and they're dim. My civic is way better in this area. Another thing, the fan has buttons, not a knob. My civic has a knob for the fan. Way easier to use. But overall quality is superb.

Its been a week and I really enjoy it. Mine is a 2.4l petrol ex model. Just a bliss to drive and i dont have any issue with the acceleration. Its fast enough unlike what these reviewers say. Very spacious which is a well known fact. Infotainment is good, not as bad as it was portrayed. Interiors are plush and seats are comfortable. Exhaust could have been designed well and infotainment should have lesser bezel. I don't find any other drawbacks as of now and its not only a family car, but a sporty car with good sports mode and paddle shifters which works surprisingly good and this was not mentioned by any of the reviewers. Its just the best and go for it, if you are confused whether to go or not. You won't regret!!

Thanks. I thought I’d hate it but I test drove it four times and loved it more each time. The reviews are good but can only take you so far. I test drove the RAV4 twice and hated it both times - it’s a heavy, loud car with an oppressive interior, not to mention Toyota salespersons are disinterested in selling a car. They’re very “Toyota’s sell themselves.”

I love Honda. I just purchased a 2019 Accord LX and absolutely love it. I think this CR-V is awesome. I like the darkened housings and the wheels on that Touring trim level. One big thing I HATE is the auto start/stop. It sucks just like on every car. It only saves 1 mpg per year or something like that. I would be turning that off but I don't have to worry about that as the 2019 Accord LX doesn't have it. Great review!

I was with you Dustin, we had 4 other hondas before the problematic 2018 CRV EX, they all were fantastic problem free vehicles. Then came the 1.5 Turbo and the outright lies and deny, deny, deny from Honda. I lost confidence in them. The only reason we traded in the 2018 in on the 2019 Passport is I just couldn't in good concience trade it in to anyone but honda. It is likely our last honda. Honda created the illusion of greater space by shrinking/narrower the front seats, and closing the gaps. The gap means the seats are very close to the center console, so much less likeky to have stuff slip between the two. That said, it does feel huge inside, and the seats are still comfortable.

@pinakmiku49993 жыл бұрын
Even didn’t change on 2021. This is very bad by Honda that don’t give new features to people if sales are going up. Accord and Odyssey sales were going down so Honda changed infotainment to attract people and CR-V in contrast has been going up in sales due to its SUV body. Honda hardly changed anything from 2017-2021 CR-V in EX trims and above.

Small displacement turbocharged engine has soiled the Honda brand. I bought a 2019 CR-V LX to avoid the disaster, but to 2020 they’ve eliminated that option. Foolish to opt for a turbocharged engine for only 1-2 mpg and a few HP. Completely stupid to invite reliability issues for no tangible benefit.

The 5th gen CR-V with the 1.5T and CVT AWD tested between 7.3 - 7.6 0-60 -- which is not bad for an SUV (not a sports car, but still not bad). The Toyota RAV 4 TRD 0-60 tested at 8.0 seconds, but 7.4 with the hybrid... so the CR-V with AWD would eat the non hybrid for breakfast. I think the AWD plays a major part in acceleration. My wife's 2.4 iVTEC and 5 speed is really slow... even with AWD, but the problem with conventional transmissions is that they can only be tuned for efficiency or performance -- not both; whereas, the CVT can play both sides of the game. I think we have to remember that this is NOT a Civic Type-R, but a utility vehicle ;)

@@hjf774 This is highly illogical. You are buying a vehicle, not stereo. Stereo can be replaced for less than $200 but messed up engine, transmission, or any other integral component cannot. Well, they can but it's a HUGE hassle and expense not to mention that - unlike stereo - those components may prevent you from reaching your destination. My 2004 4Runner came with a tape player. No kidding. As ridiculous as it was, it did not stop me from buying the truck because I knew everything else was rock solid. The first thing I did was replacing the stereo with a very nice aftermarket unit (less than $300) that still works like a charm, connects to the phone, plays movies, has USB port, etc. And the truck itself has 230,000 of rough service with a total of about $500 worth of repairs. My new 2018 4Runner also came with a ridiculous stereo that had cd (not even dvd - cd!) player so I immediately threw it way and installed a JVC unit for $240, and it works like a charm. Bottom line: today's honda's quality and reliability are below sea level, and I am saying this as a former owner of 6 hondas and an automotive professional. Feel free to ignore.

Tractor Home Improvement I have a 2018 and my neighbour has a 2019. His has the same issue as mine. It amazes me how some Honda fanboys get all upset when it’s mentioned lol. It’s a well known fact that it’s an issue. I’m sure the 2020 has the issue as well because it’s the exact same engine and setup. Even the mechanics at my local Honda dealer said it’s a huge issue and no software update will fix it because it’s not a software issue.

You totally missed the huge issue related to the oil / gas dilution. Personally I would never buy a turbo due to limited life expectancy of the engine. I am still driving my 2009 naturally aspirated CRV.

@David Carlin : yep, I feel the same driving my 2006. Waiting for a return of a n/a engine and auto or manual transmission. I’m sure it’s not going to happen, but a man has a right to dream. Or I may pull a trigger on a CX-5 before they switch to CVTs.

@@MaximumDIYGarage as a 2008 Honda CRV owner, i would only consider going to Toyota. If you look online at fleets, auctions, etc I can find Honda's/Toyotas with 300-500,000 miles. Not many Subarus or Mazda's with that mileage. Granted I only have 203,000 trouble free miles, I think Toyota/Honda owners know they can go many more miles.

Sara, big difference in the engines used: Honda has that problematic turbo with oil dilution issue, while the Subaru uses a non-turbo. If you plan to keep the vehicle a long time, opt for the non-turbo. And another huge factor is that Subaru is all wheel drive across the board, you'd have to pay more on the CRV if you need AWD.

Given the problems Honda has ha with this engine, and its policy of ignoring the problems, I doubt that on average the CR-Vs powered by the 1.5 liter turbo will end up running half that mileage.

@@f181234 I wonder how that compares with the number that are having problems? Maybe too soon to tell as most folks who have put 150,000 miles on them at this stage are likely putting mostly highway miles on them. 100,000 highway miles = 10,000 city miles when comparing wear on the drive train.

I leased a 2017 EX-L. Wishing I'd have waited at least until 2019. Mine has many quirks and issues. The infotainment screen adjusts its own brightness repeatedly if I use Pandora, so I wind up having to deal with constant beeping. The touch screen will freeze up, and the only way to get it to stop freaking out is to shut the car off for a minute, and not use Pandora on Bluetooth. What's worse is that it takes about 15 minutes for the car to warm up to an acceptable level before driving. If you don't warm it up enough, you risk having gasoline leaking into the oil chamber. The guy at the dealership said the issue is caused by the customer not warming the engine up enough before driving, so it's the customer's fault. I told him it's ridiculous to expect the buyer to warm up their car for 15 minutes every morning before driving. Most cars only take about 3 minutes to warm up. Take it out on the freeway, and it's LOUD. Nonetheless, the it and finish of the interior is fabulous. Fundamentally, it's an awesome car. Definitely the leader in its class, and I love driving it. But with all the bugs mine came with, plus how Honda refuses to fix the issues I've had with it, I will never buy another Honda. When this one finally dies, I will go with anything but Honda.

If they had ventilated seats and didn’t have that CVT, it would be perfect.

Yeah the turbo with oil dilution problems, and cvt which even if a good one, will be too expensive to replace at 100K kms. So much for buying a Honda for longevity and reliability. Really like the cargo space of this small SUV, but cannot afford guaranteed expensive repairs. Also heard the AC in Hondas are weak.....which here in southern Ontario summers is a deal breaker.
