I saw some chinese pro players testing the differences between national, provincial and commercial H3 The conclusion is that National H3 are easy to distinguish, most player can tell there are significant differences between Nation H3 and other two, while the feeling playing with provincial/commercial H3 are not so obvious that many players cannot distinguish them. Therefore, if you want to buy H3 rubber, either buy the national H3 if you have enough budget and reliable source, or you just buy the commercial one which you are less likely to get a fake one and also the price are much cheaper. Last thing to add, commercial H3 are much more suitable for most beginners or intermediate players because we cannot tell the difference anyways LOL

The national "personal rubbers" are not owned/sold by the player, they are the custom models made by DHS for the players. Then DHS decides to also make this model to sell to the public (which they might do for marketing reasons). Nobody thinks that buying a pro player rubber/blade will make them play like a pro. I wonder why people keep repeating this point, just take a second to think about how ridiculous of a concept it is that (in any sport) equipment could be a replacement for skill. On the other hand, the statement "the right equipment for the right player" is correct. However, expensive gear isn't necessarily not suited for lesser skilled players. There's a popular philosophy in table tennis that presumes the idea that the more expensive a piece of gear is, the worse it's going to be for a beginner. The reason given for this idea is usually one of these: 1. Beginners won't be able to control expensive gear, they will perform worse. 2. Beginners may be able to control expensive gear, but if they do they will learn a bad technique. 3. Beginners will improve slower if the use expensive gear. I don't think any of these are necessarily true (they could be, but I don't think we should just believe them). To me the more intuitive truth is that gear would be independent from skill, rather than tightly coupled to it. Like for example when learning an instrument, if you buy a really expensive guitar, it won't make you play better, but it won't make you play worse either, in fact most likely it would make playing a little easier, and the learning process smoother, as an expensive guitar won't get in the way -- and it may sound better than a cheaper one once you learn to play it. Is it the same with table tennis gear? Maybe, is my point. Most things work this way, for it to be different in table tennis should be weird, and should require an explanation.
@raikiro797
@raikiro797 Жыл бұрын
Although you do make some valid points, the analogy with the guitar is quite flawed since the difference between a cheap guitar vs an expensive guitar is mainly sound quality. But with table tennis gear there are far more factors: Ball feeling, dwell time, speed, spin, grip, flexibility, hardness, throw angle, reactivity. All of these different factors contribute to how the player develops and how he plays the game. Giving a beginner pro-level gear is just about the worst thing you can do. There are beginners in my club who use racket setups worth over 500 dollars who cannot control their equipment at all, and because of this, they cannot develop a good stroke or ball feeling because their equipment doesn't give them what they need to develop these things.
@tomasgonzales
@tomasgonzales Жыл бұрын
@@raikiro797 That's fair, but do you know that those factors affect ease-of-improvement? For example those beginners in your club, how do you know that the reason they can't control the ball is the equipment-the dell time, the spin, the speed-rather than the fact that they are beginners? How can you tell that they won't develop a good stroke if they are still beginners? They could learn it in time. Have you seen a pattern between beginners with bad equipment and with good? And is the sample size big enough? And for how long did you track the improvement? And are you sure that it isn't confirmation bias? My point is that the arguments that are given to justify why expensive equipment is bad for beginners are not good enough to make any conclusion, yet they are treated as such. It may be that premise is true, but it would have to be confirmed experimentally, by someone who doesn't already believe it to be one way or the other.
@raikiro797
@raikiro797 Жыл бұрын
@@tomasgonzales Why yes, you are correct in saying that the sample size and experimental data is far from definitive enough to come to any definite conclusion, I still believe my point still stands that beginners using equipment far past their skill-level hinders their development by a very noticeable margin. Although I myself do not own high-level gear, as i am but a recreational player, i have tried professional level gear on multiple occasions. And the conclusion that i have come to is that the most important aspect of the game(for beginners), ball feeling, is not considered in the development of professional gear as professionals have already thoroughly developed this aspect of the game. Without ball feeling, it's hard to know what you're doing wrong, hence why it's more difficult to improve.
@raikiro797
@raikiro797 Жыл бұрын
@@tomasgonzales I also believe that one should realise that just because some pieces of equipment are not professional-level, it does not mean that they are bad. Take for instance rubbers such as Butterfly Rozena or Yasaka Rakza 7, they are not the fastest rubbers and pros would definitely not be using them in their setups (as there are better options), but they are still extremely valid for beginners and intermediate players when paired with an all-round style blade such as the Yasaka Sweden Extra or Neottec Voodoo Classic. And the sum of these parts do not even equal 100 dollars.
@z0uLess
@z0uLess Жыл бұрын
As a beginner, I tried playing with unboosted DHS Hurricane 3 Neo Commercial on a flexible blade for 4 months and it was very hard, but I believe it did a good job to develop my forehand stroke. When I changed to Yasaka Rakza Z everything got easier. Rakza Z is much better for allround play, but I still dont know how to forehand flip over the table because I have played only with hard rubbers.

in China, we will not directly use hurricane3, both ping-pong fans and Malone. We will use expansive oil to activate the power of sponges in the first two days. Once, expansive oil will last for about a month. dhs comes out with a 2.15mm version to prevent Used the expansive oil after the sponge from being too thick.

When you clean, clean it with water, not rubber cleaner. Chinese rubbers prefer water over everything else. Also try to avoid getting finger oils or sweat on the rubber, both of these things will deteriorate the grip.

Ok, mainly i don't like to comment much on KZbin contents, but i try to comment when i feel i want to say something. About table tennis equipment mainly regarding expensive ones, well, i am a beginner always because i never take any serious training lessons, but i never stop myself buying whatever i can find in the market, be it $10 or $1000 it doesn't matter, as long i enjoy playing and i can adjust then that is all matter, i am lucky to have a table at home and robots, i took very short or few times coaching around, it helped me to gain some skills enough, and it never made my choices of rackets any difficult or wrong, i started with cheap and expensive blades, and to my surprise i learnt faster and played nicer with that expensive blade, then i bought more through years between cheap and expensive blades and rubbers, my skills went better regardless what i was playing with, until now i reached to point where i only play for fun using anything, i play with fast blade and slow defensive using inverted rubbers or short pips or long or anti spin, i can play with anything in my hand, sure something can be nice in my hand and something else is not, but it never related to how expensive the blade is or how cheap, i have cheap bade that even a beginners can't use it good enough and i have a fast blade that some beginners will fight to have it, i played with one lady of closer level to me, in one day i gave her like 3 different rackets to play with and all are different, including to her own one cheap ready from market, to my and her surprise, she played the best with the fastest blade i gave her instantly, her strokes and loops became more better and more consistent with it, so i can say that all those talking about don't go with expensive fast blade isn't always a fact true, same we can say don't go with cheap crap blades, ad many beginners can't afford to buy expensive fast blades, but there are some adequate fast and nice control with good prices too, i started to play with DHS rubbers only since last year, i tested say 5 or 6 rubbers, only 2 or 3 were great and the rest were not much good, boosted and unboosted, and funny many players i talked to in a club they don't like or avoiding DHS rubbers, only dream about "National" version but they can't/won't afford it.

I'll answer this question. No The "better" versions cost a lot of money but aren't much better. Maybe a blue sponge can be worth it especially when you plan to use boosters. Blue sponges tend to react better than orange ones with a booster. And if you don't care about boosters buy a decent NEO version and it is boosted from production and it's 100% legal

If you want to try something new, just go for Fastarc G-1 on forehand. Your backhand rubber should be a little softer. Fastarc S-1, Coppa X1 Gold or Joola Rhyzm 430 for example.
