Loved the video! Just an FYI, the waxed canvas boot you referred to has a leather trim so it's not going to be vegan. This summer, there were a few small batch 6 inch Bean Boots released that have all canvas uppers. I also loved your video on the 585 blundstones! The one thing that the Bean boots have over the Blundstones is that they can be resoled (for $40). There's a repair department in Maine that can do all sorts of work on the Bean boots. It's tricky but I would have talked more about sizing, especially between the lined vs unlined boots. Hard to know if you haven't tried them all on at the store. I'm a 9.5 and I wear a 8 in the unlined and a 9 in the lined.

I'm not that old,.....but goddamn,; I have to concern myself with whether a clothing product is "vegan" now? Holy shit! I thought that only applied to concepts of being a carnivore or herbivore. I give up..... At this point I must be considered an amoral, nihilistic scumbag.

They have flannel lined version with a darker upper which is the style I purchased. Love mine. I only wear them in winter, snow or occasionally cold rain. I bought my actual shoe size which is a 9, and so I will wear thicker socks. They are very comfortable and have great snow traction.

My dad bought a pair of these boots when I was probably eight years old. It was a big expenditure of money for him at the time. He wore them for the next 30 years. He had to send them out to get resolved at that point. Which at the time L.L. Bean was doing for free. Too many people took advantage of that in the worst possible sense. They now charge you $50 to have your boots resoled. My dad passed away three years ago. After he passed away, I asked my mom if I could have those boots. When she said yes I was thrilled! I put them on. Even though my feet were the same size, I couldn’t fill those boots. (let’s be honest if you have a real, good dad, filling his boots will be a life long quest anyway) His wear pattern was so different from mine it felt awkward trying to walk in them. So I looked up how to send them in to get them resoled myself. The process they have to get these boots resoled is incredibly easy process. I mailed them into L.L. Bean, they mailed me back a brand new pair of boots.I now can wear the same boots that my dad wore every hunting trip, every fishing trip, every odd job, every time I remember my dad outside. Which was most of the time. The people at L.L. Bean are fantastic to deal with the boots are of outstanding quality. They will last you your lifetime plus your kids. The company is fantastic to work with. It’s not what you get from Sperry. It’s what you get from L.L. Bean. The boots are extremely similar, but it goes beyond that and anyone who’s ever been around L.L. Bean knows exactly what I’m talking about. By these in complete trust that you are getting a top of the line boot. One that certainly exceeds what you see in simply watching a KZbin video about the L.L. Bean boot. When you buy these by them with the understanding that you are taking them like you take a spouse. They will be with you for better or for worse and they will take care of you no matter what you need.

I just grabbed a pair of 8" flannel lined insulated bean boots. They're dark brown. Such nice looking boots! Finally found a pair that fit me good. They have a nice blue color flannel liner in them which is what made me check them out. Then the dark brown leather looked really good. So I went with them. Only thing is the tongue isnt gusseted all the way up. But I already got them conditioned and ready to go! I'm in Massachusetts. So they'll definitely get use! Seen this video already but had to come back and watch again and leave a comment. Thanks man! Have a good one and stay safe 🤝

Probably over 20 pairs in my lifetime and with the outdoor mileage I cover every week the soles are worn through in three months and they almost always also fail at the heel rubber/leather junction. Way too expensive now and I just buy used ones off eBay but I'm also wearing them less than less . Glad they work for some people but for me they are just disposable .

I actually hunt ducks in Louisiana and LL Bean boots were the standard back in the day when Gore Tex meant something but the quality has fallen off. I’ve bought two pairs of LL beans in the past 4 years and they’ve both rotted and broken.
4 жыл бұрын
It’s funny when you are talking about preppy people wearing these (I might call them hipsters) because these boots were originally designed by Mr Bean as a hunting and explorer/snowshoe boot around 1912. Our grand parents and great grandparents wore them for farm work. I just ordered a pair for shoveling snow, snowshoeing, vehicle safety, and hunting. It’s kind of cracks me up when young hipsters wear things as a fashion statement, and older folks wear them they probably think these old farts should dress their age, lol! Like the hipsters are the ones who discovered them! I’ll be driving from my home in colorado to visit my family where I’m from in minnesota. I’ll take a quick detour to stop in Redwing to see if I can pick up any good deals on factory seconds Redwing boots. They can be re-soled, get character with age, and last a lifetime if you care for them. Of course their another hipster statement. Of course I grow my beard out for hunting season and enjoy a good pair of Levi’s and a nice flannel shirt. I’m 54 years old and of it wasn’t for my age I would probably fit right in when I stop by my local coffee roaster and sit down by the fireplace to enjoy a cup of Joe! Now only if the chicks could see me for the hipster that I really am! I enjoyed your review. I wish you much success on your channel. Cheers!

Hahahaha thanks for the kind words!! It’s really funny to see it. It’s always the workwear they aren’t “cool” right away and get cool after and all of a sudden they are the coolest things to own! Even Levi’s if you go back far enough weren’t “cool” for the longest time! Really appreciate the comment, hope the boots serve you well and you get some great favorite seconds!

I was not a fan of these boots. I live in Minnesota and these boots they weren't useful to me. Not saying they were bad boots. They were nicely made. I just didn't like them. None of the LL Bean Boot line is warm enough. When I purchased them the sales guy even said "these aren't winter boots." I was fine with that as I got them as running errands boots. My thing was even as insulated boots, they just weren't warm enough even for short stints outside. When wearing them in the spring and fall I found myself grabbing for my Muck boots instead. Muck boots are more supportive and prottect your feet and calves better. I'm sure since they were built for New England they probably work really well there. Our climate in Minnesota just didn't work with these boots. I ended up getting a pair of Kamik William boots for running erands. I also think LL Bean needs to figure out how to size their boots correctly. The sizing was ridiculous. I sent 2 pairs back just to figure out my size.
