If my analogy wasn't clear at the end of the video during my verdict. you can still have a lot of fun in this game outside of myCareer for zero extra cost. Franchise mode is a blast and if you are cool with playing that, you'll really enjoy 2k25 as the gameplay is phenomenal, presentation is fun and Eras brings a lot of extra depth to an already deep franchise mode (myNBA)

When you buy "boosts" or earn them, it forces you to use them. PREDATOERY: I'm at that park and I buy a 10 pack of boosts. Then I play my career, it makes me use boosts. I pay for season premium for one season. Earn all my 2x tokens. Then they disappear the next season. I'm not buying this sht.

If the default build for mycareer was a 70 or 75. Paying and grinding wouldn't be as bad. This year's number 1 rookie from the NBA was a 75 overall. Bronny James is a 68 as a 2nd rounder. And yet when you start, you're a 60? That's 3rd round! Jumping from 75 to 85 would save money to be spent on other things or just saved up. It's insane to keep the default at 60 overall, year after year.

Honestly I create my player for mycareer then use MyNBA with the player lock feature to spam VC. It’s a lot more fun without having to constantly buy VC for the MyPlayer

My settings is 10 minute quarters, Pro difficulty (it’s what I’m used to), and all the players are stock attributes and tendencies. That’s how I get my VC for Mycareer. I also get more freedom in terms of jerseys, money, and trades.

What I did in nba 2k24 to add immersion is to draft myself accurately when I was 19 (2016-17) in the MyNBA mode, I play a couple games a season and go with historical accurate rosters (time consuming) nba champs/mvp/dpoy/roty, then i fast forward to 23-24/ 24-25, and I act like the MyPlayer content is me in my current year

It's lamentable that MyPlayer has become the "heart and soul" of this game. I'm not at all interested in an NBA version of the Sims. I Just want to play a very authentic franchise mode. Eras was a step in the right direction. But with all of 2K's focus on MyPlayer, that mode is never truly going to see its maximum potential materialize... and that is just so frustratingly disappointing.

The speed still breaks. EA hasn't been able to fix this. U play a few games and the speed is slow. Then for no reason, the speed break and the game become really fast. ACE substitution still sucks as cpu will only sub a few times in the whole game. Even when starters are tired, cpu won't sub them and they play the whole game. Wth

AND I want it to be optional. like there shouldn't be a penalty for zero interactions, but if you want a short-term boost, than it can benefit you. I dont wanna be forced into interactions and cutscenes but rather just have it coded into the game. the same way in franchise setup you can choose to manage rosters and staff and scouting prospects or have the CPU handle it. kinda like that

2k25 PC has Denuvo. It'll destroy ur SSD. Never put anything with Denuvo on ur system. It continually writes information as an "anti-cheat" but really just shortens the life of your solid state drive by running it nonstop with checks that serve no actual ingame purpose.

When this whole My Player deal started how-ever long ago that was, as soon as I saw there was no option to control the other players on the floor I was out. Yes it's called my player so you only worry about your guy BUT what if I want to cheat it & make damn sure my dude is a superstar right away. bought it for 60usd. would ibuy it yeah but for 5 to 10usd price point. although the game is ok to me theres still no unique features like nba live 07 with superstar triggers. its really hard to score on this game even on rookie mode. the AI on this game will always find to cheat and win. you cant even perform steal and block with fouling them 10/10 even if you make defensive awareness and help defense to 100 your teammates doesnt really help to defend. you cant touch the computer. tried editing game settings reduce and adjust defensive and foul ratings but again this game would find a way to make it hard for you to make a shot, block, steal and win. the chances of people learning shot meter is 10/100. dont even bother playing with celtics tatum brown porzingiz is on 100% 3pt accuracy they never missed

I actually found the WNBA myplayer career mode to be way more streamlined and a bit more enjoyable honestly. like maybe its just me but the whole "builds" in myplayer has gotten too much. there's so much bloat in creating your player now because they're trying to justify you buying VC

I never played a 2k game. And even longer have I played a basketball game at all. But after jumping down the Larry Bird rabbit hole (lol never knew he was such a big trash talker) and now watching Caitlin Clark tear it up in college and now the W, I've really been following both the NBA and the W this year. How good is the Bird/Magic era? Like you can play on the Celtics with Bird? Or enforce the "Jordan Rules" with the bad boy Pistons as a full season? yo yo. thanks for watching and yeah sorry I didn't get into the WNBA part during the review and I should have. I did play it. and I actually enjoyed it, to answer your questions yes you can create yourself as a sidekick to Caitlin Clark in the W. I actually tried to make myself a Klay Thompson type of player and create that deep threat duo like the Warriors. and the myCareer in the WNBA is great. creating your player is a bit more streamlined (which I personally liked) and I still got to answer interview questions that effect my team chemistry and fans etc. I've only played a few games but its fun and since its not tied to online you actually start off as a pretty decent overall rating. the Magic and Larry bird era is fun. you start in the 1983/84 season. so you miss Larry Bird's RoY and first championship and Magic's first 2 championships. but you're in that era for the prime of their careers. and Michael Jordan is in the very first draft class you approach, so I basically changed the draft rules and tanked the Nuggets so I could draft him lol and I actually traded away some players for draft picks from teams I knew wouldn't be good and was able to snag John Stockton as well haha. but you can play as the Celtics if you want with Larry Bird. I haven't played the franchise mode aspect of the WNBA so I can't answer that, but career mode is great.

The look of 2K is ready for a MASSIVE overhaul. Body types for players are still inaccurate, still white/black for home/away when the NBA has moved away, Christmas Day feels blah, hair styles and facial hair need new options, shoes have been the same for years with minor updates( same color ways or lack of colorways) GET RID OF 2K shoes, it just speaks to the laziness of the coding for the past damn near 20 years smh
