Most people are fooled by the Kickback the torque diesel engines make you feel, being pushed back into the seat, then they equate that to being fast. This is why most people think diesel vehicles like the Prado's, landcruisers, hilux, cx 5 etc are "fast". They just make you "feel" your going fast...a fast car can be very smooth and linear and before you know it, you're are at shocking speeds, but your body doesn't register how quick you are moving.
@KipngetichRono112 жыл бұрын
Smooth and linear is only in CVT
@davidmbugua40182 жыл бұрын
Lakini try to do highway cruising and hilly journeys with your linear fast cars and see whether you will keep up with these diesels. They don't give in to gravity. They may not necessarily be the fastest 0-100 on flat ground lakini you just can't keep up with them.
@TheJoker-qn6vw2 жыл бұрын
@@KipngetichRono11 a dsg and most 7 & 8 speed gearboxes changes so smoothly and effortlessly your hardly feel the gear change or change in rpm...unless that is you're pushing them
@TheJoker-qn6vw2 жыл бұрын
@@davidmbugua4018 yes sure the diesel are generally better on hilly terrain...petrol need to rev higher to keep up the speed & momentum...Well that's upto a certain point & engine capacity to which petrol engines being lighter and with efficient gearboxes surplus diesel's anytime anywhere apart from hard 4x4 applications and load carrying/pulling capacity...since torque kicks in at very low rpms for diesel engines and remains constant throughout...but at the end of the day horsepower always beats torque...a high powered petrol engine will beat a high torqued engine. Its why on a long linear hill climb eg Kinungi...yes the diesel may get a headstart...but once the petrol engine is allowed to pick up to + 5000rpm consistently...it will zoom past the diesel.
@highnessking3526 Жыл бұрын
@@TheJoker-qn6vw you are one of the guys that really understand difference between diesel and petrol engines. Many may not agree that a petrol vehicle with 240hp and 300NM will always embarrass a diesel eg mazda cx5 with 170hp and 420 NM.

Wonderful reviews so far 👏🏽👏🏽💯 What I can advice going forward is on the part of 0-100kph time. You should consider using a GPS speedometer application since you know manufacturers today have variations in their speedometer readings. Some are known to read more than 5-10kph of your actual speed for reasons such as avoiding speeding tickets (can’t explain all here mna eza google ) Alafu the series on re-driven, most of those cars might have gone through some bits of modifications such as one could have come with size 14 inch rims but owner decided to put size 15 or 16 inch rims which now will give a false speedo reading or like in my case i changed my 4 speed gearbox and put a 5 speed one but still maintained the 4 speed speedo cable and clock now when I’m doing 100kph on the GPS , kwa clock it reads 55 kph. So using a GPS will be a level benchmark for all cars. Keep up the good work 👍👍
