The struts on the bonnet was a good idea to dispense with. No need to replace failing struts. That bar is a 'keeper' that lasts forever

In NZ, the Gen 1 is half the cost of Gen 2. That is unbelievable value for money and can't be beat. So good, that I just bought a low KM Gen 1 myself.

Depends what you’re doing with it. If you are just using it to go back and forth to work and maybe a little off road fun, just get the old one. If you have lots of money and always want what’s the latest and greatest, get the new one. The new one is better, no question, but the old Raptor is still pretty bad ass. I like the front end of the old one better.

Love both cars the new raptor is on a hole new level so glad they went v6 and petrol but still have a diesel option in a v6 in the wildtrack to keep people happy I reckon if the had a raptor style pack in the normal ranger platform then people can stop complaining that they can’t tow there van or boat! We are finally getting the 2024 Ranger Raptor here in the US this fall. It’s rumored to be roughly $15k less than the fill size F150 Raptor that starts around $78k US dollars.

I had the first gen for literally 6 weeks it was just too slow for me I have ordered the 2nd gen after a test drive can’t wait for it to arrive there is no comparison the 2nd gen is better in every way

The US version moved the 3rd brake light to the cab. Ford USA also installed a window in the rear cab glass.

Great review. Ford should have made the gen2 stand out from the stock gen2 ranger like they did with the gen 1. Personally I wouldn't drop 100k on the new model until they iron out the bugs and hopefully re design the from end to make it look more aggressive on the 2024/25 model

@@TyFenwick Love the content Ty.......the new one was developed in conjunction with VW (the Amorok)....VW benefit from Ford's build spec (after all they've been building trucks for a while now!), and Ford benefit from VW's electronics / computer management. You may be aware they're also in bed with each other on the transit / transporter vans. Personally, I think Ford shouldn't have done this given their long earned heritage with trucks (and transits), but that's just my view. I own a 2022 special edition Raptor in the Conquer grey and love it. They only released 50 units in the local (UK) market.

@TyFenwick or it shows how stupid people are to pay that amount for a ford. Its a ute yet impractical as one. So if you were looking to use it for work its a dud. Its the fastest in its class but it aint really a face car. So if its speed you want there is faster for cheaper. Its to big for handling on rd and as 4x4 its not really set up for it. Its a heavy tall waste if space built to go fast on places you cant drive. But it looks good. And thats why people want them so they LOOK good lol In saying that if they made a lowed version extra cab with a allow tray it be the best car money can buy
