In most cases yes, but you could also change for reasons that enhance your abundance, security and commitment. Like if you grew a company and gained a "nickname" or something which is very good. If the old name was from a time when you were scared, insecure and from a family who does not support your goals or something it could be a wise choice. 🙂

If you don’t like your name it’s because of an insecurity you have about who you are and the value you give other people. Increase your value with high income skills (maybe mixed with a little bit of passion). In doing so, you’re adding value to your name. People will know you. People will refer you. Keep your name, increase the value you give yourself both within and without.

So if you feel like you don't like your name....and you identify with another name....then DO change it. Be a trailblazer. Many people in Bible changed their name ...most all for good reasons. As a seventeen year old I would just improve myself and learn something new. In the best case you should learn a high income skill. These skills can make you a lot of money, because they deliver value. And at your age it is very important to test out as much things as possible. Find something where you like the process of growing, because too much people only want to be part of the result and not of the process. And only trust the advice of somebody who actually did what he talks about. And look out for mentors you feel connected to.

Sifu I wish you would say a little more on the subject... Yes it's important to not try to be someone else, and it is also important to be yourself. However when your name is such a strong part of your identity and personal branding, sometimes it is difficult for people with hard to spell or pronounce names. Can you expand a little bit more on this subject? Especially for people whose names do not translate well into English or cannot use Roman letters easily. Personally I think this is a very hard decision. On the one hand, you want the world to know your name and to make your family proud. On the other hand, brand (name) recognition is an extremely powerful psychological force in action. Surely you have more to say than a quick 1:48 minute video on this matter?
