How did you quit without having another job lined up?
@carpathianken3 жыл бұрын
@@INvertPb4Life Financial preparation is the key. You only have to have another job lined up if you live from week to week & pay check to pay check. I learned since I started working when I was 13 years old that it's best to squirrel away some money every week to get you through the "lean" times, if you do have to make the decision to leave the workplace before having another job lined up.It's better to make that small monetary sacrifice than be forced to stay in a psychotic workplace because you literally have no option but to stay.

I worked for over a year at a job I absolutely HATED. I felt drained every evening, and I started anxiety meds and antidepressants for the first time in my entire life. Every morning I was taking antacids because my stomach was so upset, and every evening it was so hard to be positive and strong for my wife and daughter, to the point that my wife wanted to pack up and leave. I was so glad to land a new job, in the field that I enjoyed, even with a longer commute. I put in my two weeks notice, but then I quit early when upper management stepped on my toes one two many times. I didn’t care. I was starting the new job the following week anyway. Don’t quit your hated job until you line something up on the outside, but man, it feels so good when you finally can!

You’re probably still young, and you can piggyback on your parents’ insurance until age 26. If you want to start your own business, now is the perfect time to do it. All grad school does is drive you further into debt, and stunt your work experience by 1 year. Lastly, learn how to invest. Cost of living is high, and companies try to pay you less and less for more and more work.

Honestly speaking, I tend to experience those 7 points at all the jobs I did. I've job hopped a lot and why I quit those places are exactly because of those warning signs mentioned. And then I got to my current job and thought that, I am not getting any younger and I couldn't be changing job way too often and started thinking things like 'maybe it's me' kind of thing. Like maybe there are things that I have to further improve and I thought it's normal to face such setbacks as human beings do need challenges to grow after all. But then again, it's like I'm sabotaging myself. Being in a workplace where people tend to take me lightly, taken for granted, and not wanting to cooperate just to feed their own ego. Bosses not wanting to do anything about it and say things like 'their characters are like that' and yet when the usually good and kind ones accidentally commits mistake like once in a while, they're being 'target' by them. So I thought enough is enough and coincidentally, I did went to try applying for job somewhere else earlier today. Hope this will be a good beginning to start afresh and advance forward.

I’m in agreement with everything you said. I’ve seen so many people become complacent with the career their in that they grow old and miserable, never wanting to achieve the next goal. I tend to stay away from those type of people. Great video

Empower Self Mastery yup the old saying birds of a feather flock together. If you hang around people who have achieved something great in life you will work harder to achieve similar attributes and they will push you to do better.

I've quit three jobs ... And always quit them, before I have my next offer. .. And I've always had the next offer - By two weeks after. The amount of applications, you can send out when you're not *at work* is just huge.

I never understood those ''Why don't you just quit your job?'' people! How exactly do you imagine the world works? Do you just assume that everyone has a million saved up in their bank account and can just live comfortably for years while studying for a new career or looking for a better job? People need to survive and most have families to feed as well; they can't just quit their job like it's some fucking optional Spanish 1A course in college!

The best. Sifu, would you and Desmond or you and Jenny do a video about comfort zone and income zone? How to be not so UNcomfortable that one is stressed and not makimg anything happen, but not SO comfortable that there is no growth?!!! PLEASE AND THANK YOU... I know if anyone can answer this question, you can. Thank you for all that you and Jenny, and all that you and your team do for us.

Well... 1 and 2, partially. Maybe in 30% of my days. This pretty reflects my attitude about my job. I love my job. I've started my business a year ago as an electrician. Since then it's the first time in my life I'm grooving persistently. I have my plan and I stick to it miraculously. Right now I'm about to start my own team and by all aspects I am ready for it. Then next step and next step... I'ts awesome to see your own true potential when you love your job.

I recently resigned from my job for many of these reasons. What I find sad is that everyone in my offline world thinks I am crazy and should stick it out. They will spend the next 20-30 years working in jobs they don´t like, just because they are scared or don´t have the confidence to even LOOK for other opportunities.
