I had such a good time with this game. Played for 10 hours straight the day it came out, got to somewhere around the 3rd island I believe, and haven’t touched it since. Never understood why I just randomly stop playing good games I enjoy without a reason, just a bad habit

Whilst I know I’m the odd one in this scenario, it’s always weird/entertaining to hear people say something like, 3rd map in ten hours, when it took me 17 hours to leave the fieldlands lol I was having a grand old time

Had the exact same experience as you. Dropped and forgot about the game until a few weeks ago. Then got re-addicted. Not only beat the game, but research level 10'ed all the 'mons to get the shiny charm. Now for even more fun! Creating my own personal grinds with the highest shiny rates! :)

Definitely one of my all time favorite Pokemon games. I've 100%ed it other than the final Arceus battle. It's ridiculously difficult for me to the point of not being fun anymore and I read that there's nothing else to do or rewards to receive after the battle so I called it good.

That's not the final Arceus battle. The final Arceus battle is when you battle him in the "Eternal Battle Reverie" and I would say Arceus is a lot harder in this actual final battle. In terms of difficulty, the Eternal Battle Reverie is harder than the battle tower in Sword and Shield but easier than the BDSP battle tower.

I went back to finish this game recently after similarly playing through about 15 hours on release, and I'm so glad I did! You nailed the feeling in this video - I remember putting it down because I was overwhelmed with all there was to do. So when I picked it back up I got myself to focus on the core story and allow myself to come back to things later, and am now having tons of fun getting to pick and choose what order to explore the post game. So easy to sit down with this one and lose like 6 hours to it at a time 😅

A quick note, in BDSP if you have a lets go game save date you will get a mew and if you have Sword/Shied saves you can get a Jirachi.

This is a game that i will keep coming back to. We should absolutely be encouraging more of these kind of Pokemon games. That being said, i am glad i have the option to jump back into a carebear open world Pokemon game like Violet and Scarlet for some shiny hunting or raiding.

Been debating this myself since I quickly dropped the game after buying it. I don't like the catching mechanics or the combat encounters, but my biggest complaint was that I had no idea what to do. I played for over 8 hours running around talking to people and doing side quests, leveling up my entire team to the mid-forties, and I don't think the game actually started lol. Like, I felt no sense of direction, and had no idea how to actually start the game. Maybe this video will convince me to start it back up, if I can find my Switch charger, of course

The shift to having to catch the same Pokémon over and over in some of the recent Pokémon titles really doesn’t resonate with me. I think it’s what finally put me off Arceus. I always liked going through the games and catching 1 of each Pokémon cause it made each one feel that much more special. It made even route 1 mon’s like rattata feel special in some of my playthroughs. Now even rare mon’s feel quite expendable.

I play the regular games this exact same way. EV’s and IV’s don’t matter to me, this is MY Caterpie and it’s the best one in all the game!

I kinda understand why catching one of every Pokémon can make them feel special but it’s also kinda weird and limiting, especially when it destroys your want to play the game.

I think this might be the difference of growing up on red and blue before shiny’s and IV’s etc. it’s great that there’s so many ways to play Pokémon games isn’t it!? I’m a fan of failing at a Nuzlocke myself.

Honestly ever since i saw that scarlet & violet were coming out i stopped playing and i haven't beaten Avalugg yet since then but i will and i like the Space distortions especially the one at sandgem flats why because i know where to run. as well i just got my 10th rank star a few days ago. To be fair, Pokemon: Skyri-Arceus does have the best mandatory tutorial and I really like how you had to go back to a camp to swap mons like in earlier, more loved games.

I decided to return to the game earlier past month and finally finish it. What a slog that last part is, really. Space-time rifts take too long to appear (10 min+), so capturing the pokémon exclusives therein is terrible, and they may not even appear! Then the Spiritomb questline... Damn, I understand that for lore reasons there had to be 108 balls around, but what a tedious task to retrieve them all... I did finish it, but unlike your assessment, I don't recommend completely finishing Pokémon Legends Arceus. Just reach the end of the story, the game is way more fun if you stop there

Eh it wasn't hundreds years but rather 135 years from dpp. Dawn/Lucas was i think 15 or 16 years old which the era they were taken frim was 4-5 years after dpp from. the game is based on Meiji Restoration Era japan.
