A lot of good information here, thank you. However, I think it doesn't count much if the judge and attorney is a family member for the other party. Their "side" has already been released from incarceration, having only done 3 of a 5 yrs sentence. The crime was a violent crime and still the person is on the streets. Favoritism is real. At least they finally agreed to an overnight visit in that 3 yrs, but not until the other party was released, did the child get a whole week of home visitation. Mind you, the other party is the perpetrator.

What's the difference between appointing a custody evaluator and appointing an amicus attorney to represent my child? In my case, an amicus was appointed to represent my toddler and the amicus recommendation was completely dismissed by the judge. I ended up not getting sole or even joint custody though the amicus attorney advised that my toddler should be in my possession.

My daughter was taken to the US without my consent. And my wife is alienating my her from me. I have to take her back to Canada for the best interest of my daughter. Would an evaluator help or I should just file for kidnapping and be done
