Hello everyone and welcome!
I've noticed a theme in a lot of your comments and questions, quite a few people are wondering if their hair is suitable for the perm, or you're just marinating on the idea! Well here are a few things I think you should consider before proceeding with the Japanese straight perm. I hope this video helps! If not, leave any other questions you may have below! :)

I was scared to get it done, because of the lack of info. After watching your videos and seeing that we have the same hair type, I got it done and I love it. Thanks for all the info !

I used to watch your Japanese straightening videos many months before I got the perm, so glad to see that you have added more on the topic 🥰 they're really helpful! I started with a Gina curl type look the first time I put it in, and then made it straight a few months ago (which was dangerous but I've been doing alot of olaplex treatments, and my hair seems to be in better shape than when I was natural). Even though the touchups aren't applied to the already processed hair, have you noticed that your hair gets straighter each session? ( I'm Asking because mine is 90% straight and I'm wondering if it'll get straighter when I do my next touch up.)
@hunxue7778
@hunxue7778 4 жыл бұрын
:) I'm so glad I could help! Oh you overlapped the straight perm to your hair to get it straighter? I'm glad your hair has been improving from that! But no, I haven't straighter results as I do touch-ups. They got my hair super straight the first time and maintain it with each session.

I wish you could show pictures of your Gina like curls type that you got with the treatment? I was thinking of just getting waves or very loose curls with it.

Thank you so much for putting this up. Now I know 100% that I want to get this done. I feel what you’re saying about the maintenance and having to deal with wash day on natural hair. I had to stop getting relaxers some years back because I would get server headaches. I wish I would have known about JSP years ago

First off, your new intro is so cute!! And I was wondering could you tell us where you go to get your hair done for the perm? Or maybe recommend a stylist that knows a good amount about how to do the perm? I wanna get it done, but it's been difficult looking for someone who knows how to do it, lol.

First off I love ur japanese hair straightening videos as i'm planning to get it done! I had big chopped so I'm currently growing it out. I was wondering what is the minimum hair length to be able to do JHS?
@hunxue7778
@hunxue7778 4 жыл бұрын
:') thank you so much! Congrats on your big chop! As far as I know there isn't a minimum length, but it may be a good idea to wait until the stylist can style your hair in a way you're happy with, maybe a year would be a good length to wait.

Thank you for the update. I was planning to go to the same salon that you go to because I live in the bay area too but I want to cover my grey hair and I don't know if the Japanese hair straightener will work for me. I love the price of the salon. I wonder if I could use henna instead? Thanks again! Back to researching.

Hi! A year and 2 months ago I self textured my hair with the Just For Me kids texture softener no-lye system, I live in CA and i’m planning on going to the same salon you went to for a straight hair perm. But i’m wondering if my hair will be okay and not fall off. Also thank you so much for this informative video!

Hi! You should definitely let them know that you have a mild relaxer in your before going. They may know how to transition you to JSP by only doing your new growth, or they may advise you to big chop before coming. You can't mix thioglycolate with calcium-, lithium- or sodium-hydroxide, unfortunately, it can melt your hair off. You're very welcome! I'm glad I could help! :D

I have a question. The chemical that you put in your hair. The one that smells bad. Some video I remember I was watching I remember some one saying that every time she washed her hair she could smell the chemical but after it dried it smells like her shampoo is there any truth to this? And if so does the smell lessen after each wash.

Personally, I didn't experience that at all. :O maybe it was the brand she used or something. I used the Liscio brand. After the final wash and blow dry at the salon I never experienced any stench.

I do think it might dry your hair out and cause some breakage. If you go through with dying your hair, just be sure to deep condition weekly until your hair feels normal again!
