This is so helpful, I’m starting my MBA with a concentration in accounting next week so I can take the CPA in my state. I did not get my BA in accounting although I am now working in the field and this is confirmation I’m doing the right thing. Thanks you Bryan.

You hit the main reasons. Another reason to get your masters in accounting is the pay and ranking system the states use for jobs

I have the ACCA (British version of CPA) and I got my masters a year ago…only to add to my CV and to help me stand out from the crowd as I advance in my career. The next thing I’ll think about in another 3 years is my Doctorate. I have to factor in the cost and the expected ROI…would that make much of a difference. But I do know that the Master definitely has and will continue to have

Hi Bryan! I have an undergrad in Liberal Studies, but I did do an MBA in Finance and Investment Management. I currently work as a Staff Accountant and wanted to grow in the Accounting field. Do you recommend pursuing CPA / Doing a Masters in Accounting to be able to grow more in the field? Thanks

In my place , irrelevant undergraduate, unaccepted for Master Accounting. Probably needs to do a year on Accounting classes with exams😂. With good results.

Bryan, I don’t think you need a masters degree to teach accounting if you have your CPA. Almost positive, at least at the community college level. You probably know more than someone with a masters in accounting.
